CPAC: “We’re all domestic terrorists!”
1472
howard10011 Mar 27, 2026 +585
It still blows my mind that they said that openly and the media just shrugged. Can you imagine the 24/7 outrage if the DNC claimed something like that?
585
BallBearingBill Mar 27, 2026 +192
White Boy Summer .... it barely made a headline! There is no bottom to CPAC. It's a red meat feeding frenzy
192
wanderlustcub Mar 27, 2026 +55
Oh I here there are quite a few bottoms at CPAC, they’re just on Sniffies lining up their pump and dump sessions for the evenings. And that is also a red meat frenzy.
55
silentbutsmedley Mar 27, 2026 -2
What does any of that mean?
-2
Jamalamalama Mar 28, 2026 +6
Butt stuff
6
Balaur10042 Mar 28, 2026 +6
By understanding the context, you become quite aware.
6
CaterpillarJungleGym Mar 27, 2026 +36
And supposedly a Grindr fest. Those dudes love other dudes a lot
36
RealGianath Mar 27, 2026 +14
Right-wing Jesus is fine with some secret anonymous butt stuff, as long as you don't try to gay-marry them. That's the line right there.
14
valeyard89 Mar 27, 2026 +7
I mean he hung out with 12 dudes all the time.
7
Balaur10042 Mar 28, 2026 +10
12 unmarried dudes who took issue with him paying attention to some women.
10
Pleasant-Basket-7526 Mar 28, 2026 +7
And were fishers of men, possibly catfishers
7
CaterpillarJungleGym Mar 27, 2026 +2
So if it's not anonymous Jesus is ok with it? So if they know each other's names for like 15 mins? I don't know how long make gay sex lasts.
2
IvanKaramazovv Mar 27, 2026 +6
The C stands for CRAZY.
6
ennuiinmotion Mar 27, 2026 +8
Clearly it’s been effective as a networking and organizational tool for MAGA. The left needs one.
8
IvanKaramazovv Mar 27, 2026
If the left had one, it would be loony tunes too. We don't need more conventions for conspiracy theorists and cranks.
0
Recent_Tap_9467 Mar 27, 2026 +4
Then *don't* have conspiracy theorists and cranks. You can still bring in people who are neither of these things. You still need to organize and network.
4
Tiny_Tabaxi Mar 27, 2026 +15
I talked to a friend of mine (at the time) about it and he flipped the f*** out on me saying I was falling for fake news and how Democrats are the real terrorists and I should be ashamed of myself for even giving it a moment's thought. Lol
15
Vaticancameos221 Mar 28, 2026 +11
I’ll never get over when the RNC called January 6th “Valid political discourse”
11
howard10011 Mar 28, 2026 +5
Or just a “typical tourist visit.” It was all part of the whitewashing of what was effectively a terrorist attack.
5
Loud_Lavishness_8266 Mar 28, 2026 +5
To be fair, Republicans are outraged over just about anything. It’s a permanent character flaw at this point.
5
howard10011 Mar 28, 2026 +2
The perpetual grievance machine.
2
Tim-Sylvester Mar 27, 2026 +3
Well you see, white "Christians" can't be terrorists! Terrorists are only non-white, non-"Christians"!

summer child, the media is complicit. remember when all the heads of major news networks went to Mar-a-Lago ahead of the inaguration ceremony to kiss the ring?
2
MentalDisintegrat1on Mar 28, 2026 +1
They are in a cult and like cult members they don't see a problem. It's going to be interesting when Donny 2 scoops croaks it gets close to it because cults fracture when the leader dies. I can see them getting violent or going out Jim Jones style.
1
VanceKelley Mar 28, 2026 +1
In 2024 a convicted criminal who staged a violent insurrection ran for president and won because more people (and electors) voted for him than voted against him. And America just shrugged. Boggles my mind that most people are ok with criminals running the country. To me that day was the "That's great, that's just f****** great man! We're in some really pretty shit now man! Game over man, game over" moment. For most Americans it was just another Tuesday. Democracy and the rule of law could only exist while most people supported it, and in America most people didn't.
1
howard10011 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty much the size of things. But it goes back even further. In 2016, nearly 63 million people — enough to win a sizable majority in the Electoral College — thought it would be ok to put an admitted sexual predator in the Oval Office.
1
ElderSmackJack Mar 27, 2026 +1
The media didn’t just shrug. Holy shit. Do some of y’all just make things up? That was a huge story for DAYS.
1
Purify5 Mar 27, 2026 -13
It was satirical not a confession. After the Jan 6 attack the FBI changed its internal definition of domestic extremism and conservatives interpreted that as being targeted.
-13
One-Environment-1444 Mar 27, 2026 +46
It is an attempt to change the definition of the words and make them meaningless. It is a well known strategy used by the GOP.
46
CaptainOwlBeard Mar 27, 2026 +29
Says you. Sounds like a f****** confession to me.
29
Vaticancameos221 Mar 28, 2026 +4
Yeah if someone calls me a rapist I’m not gonna make a statement by putting up a banner saying that I am a rapist to prove that I’m not lmfao
4
metatron5369 Mar 27, 2026 +3
It is, but it wasn't intended to be one. That's the irony.
3
masterchefguy Mar 27, 2026 +5
What's your thought on CPAC using a Nazi symbol for their stage layout?
5
Purify5 Mar 27, 2026 +1
I'm torn. On the one hand American conservatives and CPAC in particular are incredibly stupid and self-absorbed. I have a hard time believing many of them know any Nazi symbols other than a swastika. If it's not related to guns or Jesus American conservatives tend to know little about the topic. But on the other there are white supremacists that mark themselves with this symbol and recognize its meaning. It very well could have been one of them who designed the stage to convey a message of hatred.
1
JnnyRuthless Mar 27, 2026 +4
Are you unaware that a lot of conservatives are like, real, genuine nazis and ethno-purists? I run in conservative circles because of work and it's only so long before a discussion brings up racial impurity, white people being 'outbreeded', etc. etc. This is kind of standard operating procedure in conservative ideology.
4

3
WGEA Mar 27, 2026 +9
The word you're looking for is "gaslighting" not "satirical".
9
Tim-Sylvester Mar 27, 2026 +1
Right, "satirical", which is why they stood on the Othala Rune while announcing it?
1
Purify5 Mar 27, 2026 +1
The Othala Rune was the year before.
1
Tim-Sylvester Mar 28, 2026 +1
Oh well it's fine then. I'm sure that part was satire too.
1
BigBassBone Mar 27, 2026 +6
They'll tell you they were being ironic.
6
Accomplished-Limit-5 Mar 27, 2026 +4
I mean as much as I hate CPAC. its easy to see as satire from their view. there is that pride march group that dumbly yelled "we are coming for your children!". Satire (in this cased based on lies and thinking the truth about Jan 6 is a lie) can be dumb and look like admission.

It's not a war except when it is, and just ended but also just getting started. Also we totally want to fight wasting money but a billion dollars a day on that Not-War and sending Kash Patel to Cuba for cigars is totally fine

>prompting Schlapp to respond that it was not the answer he was seeking. He repeated the question a second time, which resulted in a mix of applause and boos. "Oh I guess I don't want that. Boo!"
459
BisonThunderclap Mar 27, 2026 +185
To be fair, it's extremely stupid to phrase a question like that in a speech in modern day and not expect a cheer.
185
GrimmRadiance Mar 27, 2026 +97
No, it’s extremely stupid of a crowd to not pay attention to it and just follow along with the vibe.

Same people, different gathering.

I don’t have any obligation to support a stereotype so that people get a pass on making good decisions. Maybe they thought he meant democratic leadership or judges, maybe they thought he meant inept republican leadership, or maybe the truly do want to see the Trump administration impeached. I don’t have any obligation to provided the benefit of the doubt, and in any of those cases it would still be a mark against the crowd or against conservatives.

They gaslighted attacking the Capitol to overturn an election, beating the hell out of cops with American flagpoles, and parading a confederate flag through a shit-smeared rotunda. How dare you underestimate their ability for gaslighting.
184
No_Accountant3232 Mar 28, 2026 +3
They are actively gaslighting us into believing Iran is no big deal when for any other administration that's a defcon 1 situation. We are very close to using or seeing Israel use nukes in the middle east. That is not hyperbole in the slightest. Yet the right would have us believing it's winding down.

The conservative sublistnook does this all the time though. Trump does something beyond the pale and they go "I am confused, what is he doing" or "this is childish". It means nothing, they've always done this. Then their brain goes into self-defense cult mode and they go back to obsessing over trans people and immigrants.
3

Yeah to my face they also say they're not racist or misogynist but we  know that's not true. They're just saving face.
4
ribosometronome Mar 27, 2026 +4
So... you think that in their safe space sublistnook they're going to pretend to be embarrassed by him when what they actually want is for him to do more of this? What do they have to gain by pretending Trump is embarrassing them? That's some real 4d chess they'd be playing.
4
TheGreatLuck Mar 27, 2026 +2

1

It occurred to me that the reason he’s starting all these wars is because he thinks he already fixed everything domestically. He’s putting his face and name on everything because he thinks he’s the greatest president ever and accomplished all his domestic goals in a year.
2

And you cannot ask any of them any questions because everything is "flaired users only." Why do they even have that tag for posts if it's on absolutely every post? How do the new Nazis even earn their flair if they can't comment without having already earned their flair? Do they have to upload a picture of themselves burning a cross or something?

They have no idea what they're cheering for. These morons are just hardwired to cheer and agree with anything their talking heads say. They didn't dumb it down like Trump to get the boos and instead asked it as a normal question you had to listen to in order to comprehend. Trump makes silly faces and says potty words they think are funny and that's when they know to boo something.

How could we expect a qualified speaker when the leader of the party is only qualified at felonies, extortion and bankruptcy?
1
autotelica Mar 27, 2026 +28
I think the audience was just confused about what they were being asked. They were expecting the opener to be positive. They, like most crowds, expected the hype man to actually hype and not throw out a question reminding them how hated their president is. It was a f****** bizarre way to get the crowd whipped up for Trump. But I guess the guy couldn't think of any actual accomplishments.

2
TrickySnicky Mar 28, 2026 +1
Sounds like he's up for a cabinet position
1
IvanKaramazovv Mar 27, 2026 +2
Reminds me of the Beavis and Butthead episode where the store owner was going to sell them beer, but he couldn't get them to answer his question the right way. "Let me ask you again; you boys are 21, aren't you?" "Uh...no."
2
indianajoes Mar 27, 2026 +2
They really are another level of stupid, aren't they?
2
RGQcats Mar 27, 2026 +2
No, that's the right answer.

minus2cats Mar 27, 2026 +2
CPAC: "We are all domestic terrorists!" *crowd goes wild*   "Democratst are all domestic terrorists!" *crowd goes wild*
2
Auerbach1991 Mar 28, 2026 +2
The crowd is all drunk, high, and told to just clap and cheer for anything they hear. Not surprising they clapped when it didn’t make sense for their narrative. They have bottom feeders supporting them.
2
Ethais91 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Quick. Did the use of grindr in that area rise?
2
TrickySnicky Mar 28, 2026 +1
The answer won't surprise you because the answer is always yes
1
No_Discipline6265 Mar 28, 2026 +2
I laughed so hard at that. Meanwhile,Grindr experienced a crash again.
2
Yungeel Mar 28, 2026 +1
The cheering that turned to booing once corrected speaks volumes about the dog like obedience of MAGA.
1
TrickySnicky Mar 28, 2026 +1
For more of that just witness how often threads get nuked in the official sub

"Let's try this again people... and remember we have blackmail on everyone in this room!"
1
LetBeginning3353 Mar 27, 2026 +1
Sounds like even activists at CPAC want impeachment hearings. Support has broken down at the GOP.
1
Yohder Mar 27, 2026 +1
Asks a question and then tells them how to answer. These morons don’t even realize they’ve welcomed fascism with open arms
1
Poz16 Mar 27, 2026 +1
To be fair, two options is one too many for this crowd.
1
aDirtyMartini Mar 27, 2026 +1
Was it the wrong answer?
1
Logical___Conclusion Mar 27, 2026 +1
We could have a President that cares about Americans. We don't need a Traitor like Trump killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans, and ruining the country.
1
GuardFighter Mar 27, 2026 +1
Reminded me of a school teacher asking 5 year olds a question
1
Sand-Lion Mar 28, 2026 +1
Can’t hide stupid
1
MillionToOneShotDoc Mar 28, 2026 +1
It’s hard to tell if they actually meant ’yes’ or if they’re just stupid.  I guess the latter we know to be the case regardless.
1
BruceStarcrest Mar 28, 2026 +1
Great pleasure.
1
fffan9391 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Are they just brain dead or do some of them actually want him impeached?
1
coalitionofilling Mar 28, 2026 +1
These people are regarded and just looking for a leader to tell them what to think and say
1
ThaiTum Mar 28, 2026 +1
I can’t think of a reason he would even ask that question? Did he want people to just sit there in silence? That’s not how to hype of a crowd.
1
TrickySnicky Mar 28, 2026 +1
They don't know how to do sarcasm anymore because it's become their entire personality whether serious or not
1
db7112 Mar 28, 2026 +1
When is CPAC going to just shrivel up and die I'm so sick of it
1
vanillakristoph Mar 28, 2026 +1

Watashiwadaredemonai Mar 28, 2026 +1
“ As the Democrats eye a return to power in Congress in the midterms, questions remain over whether they would seek to impeach President Donald Trump as they did last time they held the House of Representatives.” There’s no question about it, what the hell kind of sentence was that?
1
carlboykin Mar 28, 2026 +1
They love the poorly educated until they’re so poorly educated they’re too dumb to parrot the right responses
1
TrickySnicky Mar 28, 2026 +1
