Love that these guys were just working across booking random gigs pre-fame and now they’re so big that TV shows are making announcements with their name for things that will give them like five minutes of screen time

When they brought it back and said it wouldn’t be individual episodes but follow one serial killer for the season I figured I’d give it a shot since I loved the original. That they’ve had the same f****** killer and his disciples for now like 3 season with a 4th coming, I’m bored and don’t really care. Either move on to a new story or just stop.

Honestly, same. The first serial killer was so absurd in the first place (his story genuinely makes *no* goddamned sense), but then they just kept dragging him along. Fuckin'... no. Yeah, chase a serial killer for a whole season, that's fine - that's more inline with how these investigations usually work in the first place, but when they're caught, they're caught. All of this conspiracy, ludicrous levels of computer network infiltration, spy nonsense... just f****** miss me with all of that. I liked having Garcia, Prentiss, and JJ back... without the rest of the crew, it felt slanted... but then that serial killer hacker/recruiter/spy/mastermind ruined it for me.

Yeah, they seriously have a boner for that actor and keep forcing storylines that revolve around him. Frankly, I'd just like the week to week cases 😅

I used to catch this every now and then, didn't mind but never sought it out to truly follow any season long arcs My main memory is of them saying "unsub" about 15 times an episode 😃

That and the way they jump to conclusion that every killer is a sexual sadist within the first 5 minutes 😂

The original series was a guilty pleasure. I know the show is bad, but i used to come home from college and my mom would be watching it and we would bond over it. I even kinda enjoyed the reboot, but after the first of that season, I couldn't keep up with it.

I'm probably gonna get hate from the criminal minds fans, I watched this show til about season 13 and they kept replacing the characters I liked but never removed the character that makes me not want to watch the show (Garcia)

I feel like the top tier for the full cast of characters was Season 3-7 and after that it just kept falling. The first couple seasons were also good with Gideon, but I didn't enjoy Elle and Season 2 Prentiss isn't great yet

Sucks when things happen for external reasons

The actor was fired for anger management issues.

I got bored after mandy patinkin left. He's what made the show good

Isnt that like the first or second season?

Start of the third and the show felt like it lost something. I think I made it through to season 4 before I gave up

Evidently he left because he felt disturbed by working with the material and just decided it wasn't serving him as a person. Respect.

Meanwhile, he left “Criminal Minds” and got involved with “Homeland”. The part he’s leaving out is that has a LONG history of letting his ego get in the way of his work. David Caruso did the same thing and almost ruined his career until “CSI Miami” came along.

Eh. Mantegna's Rossi is a better Gideon... Patinkin is a good actor, but he's apparently next to impossible to work with - Princess Bride early fame got to him or something, idk. He's left a long stretch of TV shows over 'creative differences,' including Criminal Minds. It's often been said he's of the school of actors that play themselves over and over again - I think his role in Homeland proved exactly how true that is. But, at the end of the day, it's a procedural cop show. Audiences get bored of those, but they often can stay on the air forever because the production is c****, the actors stick around to reap the benefits of long standing contracts and syndication, and they're safe bets for week over week ratings. As long as they keep evolving them - shaking up the villains or the cast, etc - they tend to last ages past their expected expiration dates.

Yeah… Joe Mantegna was a major downgrade, and that’s pretty much when I stopped watching as well.

I found her personality annoying with the overly sexual comments and also didn't like that she would just solve most cases whenever they got stuck

I stopped after the episode where a kid stuffed a toy train down his brother's throat. For some reason that scarred me. But meaning to check it out again, especially the latter great seasons

How the hell is there a show going into season 20 that I have never once heard of?

Because you obviously live under a rock. Ever heard of law and order? What about CSI?

"Criminal Minds: Evolution" sounds like a spinoff series of Criminal Minds, but apparently they just changed the name of the main show a couple of years ago. The confusion is justified. You didn't have to be a d*** about it.

The show was cancelled and brought back a few years later on Paramount+.
