Criminal Record season two review – Peter Capaldi is just devastating in this intense crime thriller
Cush Jumbo is excellent in Apple’s unsettling tale of police corruption. But the former Time Lord, whose death-stare is turned up to 11, is this show’s heart

Capaldi doing “quietly terrifying” might be my favorite Capaldi. The show’s a bit uneven, but his scenes are magnetic. Worth watching with subtitles on for every muttered line.

Peter Capaldi is great as always, but even he can't save it, the show is absolute meh (Cush Jumbo is trash in this sorry....), if you want your dose of Capaldium watch Devil's Hour.

I came here to post about *The Devil's Hour*. Curious what's going on with that. Series 3 wrapped production 18 months ago & it's return date hasn't even been teased.

It was the same with series 2, came out 2 years after the first one, so probably October this year.

I've been waiting so long 😭 Just started doing a rewatch too, so I bloody hope it's out this year.

Agreed, I liked the first season enough to watch this second season, but *oh brother*, the production values are a full step down from the first season. The opening scene is a very good high school quality film shoot.

I don't know why but I've never liked Cush Jumbo. She always takes me out of whatever I'm watching.

I thought Cush Jumbo was fantastic in series 1 (haven't watched 2 yet), really good foil to Capaldi. Both the characters felt real and the acting was great.

I know I watched Season 1 but I couldn't tell you what happened if my life depended on it. I had completely forgotten the show existed until I saw the trailer for season 2. I remember enjoying it but it wasn't anything special and doesn't stick with you in any way.

Really like Capaldi and Jumbo but season 1 was very, very meh. Is season 2 better?

I thought season one was good and held together. The very first scene of season two is a janky mess.

No Jumbo is absolutely rubbish, Capaldi needs a better co-star. When even the Guardian makes the show about him you know how bad it is.

Season one was pretty poor, even he couldn’t save it. I imagine 2 is more of the same

He's actually not and the show is pretty dull

It was, but it was the weird logic going on that turned me off it. Boyfriend shows concern for his misses, and that’s somehow racist?? Utterly bizarre logic going on in the show.
