At least with Iran there was a plausible rationale, even if it was stupid. With Cuba it seems more like they just want to mess with them because they can, like a grade school bully.

Trump want royalty/tribute from Cuba. If they can get it they won’t attack. Question is will Cuba bow down and also the future implications of resistance movement if any. I feel for the people of Cuba

No its not just a distraction. US is currently on a conquest spree in Latin & South America to establish its hegemony. This off the top of my head:
Puerto Rico > part of the US.
Panama > conquered.
Cuba > soon to be added as a vassal state.
Venezuela > conquered.
Argentina > tethered to US dollar (conquered).
Peru > in progress (US is alrdy trying to steal the newly built Chancay port, using the same template as Panama)

The USA is not 'blockading' Cuba, it has an embargo in place since the 60's. Recently, the USA prohibited oil exports from Venezuela to Cuba, but that is not a blockade.

You're incorrect. The only nation that has been able to deliver fuel or oil is Russia for some god awful reason. I know all about the trade embargo, we are doing something different now, since January of this year.
