I mean that’s pretty fair.

ArchAngel621 Mar 22, 2026 +464
Next, close Gitmo.
464
AIDSofSPACE Mar 22, 2026 +170
Guantanamo Bay, if the word "bay" hasn't already given it away, is a harbour. A bit harder to blockade than a building on land. A bit harder still to do it to the USN.
170
CJBill Mar 22, 2026 +39
USN is a bit preoccupied at the moment though.
39
Individual_Try_2523 Mar 22, 2026 +23
Like 20% is occupied
23
CJBill Mar 22, 2026 +6
Maybe they need to commit more then, stop Trump having to beg for help.
6
No-Cryptographer7494 Mar 23, 2026 +1
mine it, seems to work out
1
chalbersma Mar 22, 2026 +10
There's no scenario where the US gives up Gitmo. It's too strategically important for controlling access to the Canal.
10
Fayraz8729 Mar 22, 2026 +56
Lmao now you’re asking for delulu things. The only way they’re leaving gitmo is if they’re driven off and they prepared for that exact moment
56
Namika Mar 22, 2026 +36
Gitmo is a fortress and a major naval base with air support and more weapons than some entire nations. The Cuban casualties would be in the tens of thousands if they wanted to take it.

The Gitmo McD alone probably has more oil than the entire nation of Cuba right now.

So far it looks like Donald has taken a leaf outta the Israeli books with intentions to escalate if from there .. How long till famine? A Man made famine .. It looks like the beginning of another possible genocide if Donald dont get his way. He truly is a Psycho!! ..

Namika Mar 22, 2026 +24
Did Cuba even once say thank you though?
24
NibittyShibbitz Mar 22, 2026 +9

Not to mention hilarious too…
1
Berkamin Mar 22, 2026 +381
Why does the US even have an embassy there? I thought we didn’t have diplomatic relations with Cuba.
381
Sea-Collection8292 Mar 22, 2026 +209
In 2015 we soft reopened diplomatic relations with Cuba, while many services are available, most services are limited and only for US citizens. This allowed both the US and Cuba to reopen their embassy’s in both capitals, from their prior status of an interest section housed in the Swiss embassies. The buildings prior to that were vacant and under the care of the government (state department in the US) much like the Iranian embassy in DC is today.
209
itcheyness Mar 22, 2026 +24
That's also when US officials allegedly came under attack via uncertain means.
24
Derpinator_30 Mar 23, 2026 +1
shhhh we dont talk about that mericuh bad
1
Fulham-Enjoyer Mar 23, 2026 +2
US: blockades a country for over 60 years, repeatedly tries to assassinate their leader and overthrow their government Cuba: Somehow gave a bunch of US officials headaches or something(?), with zero medical evidence of anything Not sure these are the same level of bad
2
itcheyness Mar 23, 2026 +4
Considering it happened in several countries (including the US) I believe the current theory is that it was Russia doing it.
4
Fulham-Enjoyer Mar 23, 2026
Havana syndrome?
0
dulbirakan Mar 22, 2026 +50
They need a military attache to coordinate their coup attempts.
50
HokusSchmokus Mar 22, 2026 +2
You kinda have to with Guantanamo Bay around.
2
davidmlewisjr Mar 23, 2026
It’s a great station for diplomats, and the CIA detachment, too.
0
ottermann Mar 21, 2026 +533
Good. You don't let us supply our civilians, you don't get to supply your people. Seems fair to me.
533
Sedert1882 Mar 21, 2026 +197
What did the US really expect to happen?
197
jpsolberg33 Mar 22, 2026 +153
Everyone to bend over and take it.. unfortunately they're learning in real time that we don't give a shit what they think.
153
saga_of_a_star_world Mar 22, 2026 +51
The rest of the world needs to adopt that attitude. Slap 50% tariffs on the US, threaten to take territory...treat the idiot in the Oval Office the way he treats everyone else.
51
Miserable-Savings751 Mar 22, 2026 +28
Nah, your genocidal country needs to be completely sanctioned until you all get off your asses and do something to stop him.
28
itsmistyy Mar 22, 2026 +6
What exactly tly do you want me to get off my ass and do?
6
Miserable-Savings751 Mar 22, 2026
Something more than just changing your profile pic.

AJR2355 Mar 23, 2026
What have you done?
0
cruznick06 Mar 23, 2026 +2
I don't know if you understand just how difficult it is for us to do mass organizing here.  Our healthcare is directly tied to employment and our medical prices are insane. If you require something like insulin or other maintenance medications, your ability to protest is already hamstrung. Many people will literally lose their shelter if they miss a paycheck. And you CAN be fired for your political beliefs.  Its absolutely fucked and not a whole excuse for not stopping shit. But its a big reason we don't have more people in the streets.
2
FairDinkumMate Mar 22, 2026 +8
Seems like Brazil is the only country that has done this so far. And it worked! Trump did his typical TACO moves.
8
Monarc73 Mar 22, 2026 +38
This administration seems to operating on the 'stop retaliating and you won't be punished.' principle.
38
Zombie_Cool Mar 22, 2026 +14
Also on the "we'll be in power forever (you know, like every empire before us) so you'll never get to retaliate" theory.
14
n0respect_ Mar 22, 2026 +4
This headline, for political theatre. "How dare Cuba do that" - the ignorant
4
gruey Mar 22, 2026 +2
They expected everyone to bow to the glorious might of the super-tough, big boy Donald J Trump. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he’ll throw a tantrum and order a bunch of people killed.
2
Captain_Reseda Mar 22, 2026 +1
This guy over here, thinking that the Trump administration thinks ahead.
1
Michael_Gibb Mar 21, 2026 +451
Allow them to import it. Then confiscate it as a matter of national emergency/security.
451
PrarieDogger9 Mar 22, 2026 +209
Yay, the country gets 4 seconds of electricity
209
ConformistWithCause Mar 22, 2026 +144
Yeah but then they promise to let the 2nd one through *boom* 8 seconds of electricity
144
ConformistWithCause Mar 22, 2026 +55
"Okay, it was only funny the first two times. We pinky promise to let this shipment through to your embassy."
55
mcbwaa Mar 22, 2026 +38
Did i just hear 12 whole seconds of uninterrupted electricity?
38
ScientificSkepticism Mar 22, 2026 +4
Just tell Donny that Biden and Newsom keep replacing all the oil with vegan oil because they're environmental lunatics who want wind turbines. He'd probably keep authorizing shipments indefinitely.
4
Fuckthacorrections Mar 22, 2026 +1
With the current administration, cuba could get enough to supply the island for generations.
1
Dalisca Mar 22, 2026 +38
-Or- some hospitals get it for a few hours to run *their* generators.
38
TheMightyPushmataha Mar 22, 2026 +3
Then point and laugh and claim it as proof that the American style of operating generators will never work.
3
Excitedly_bored Mar 22, 2026 -28
Haha, like that would happen.
-28
Javasteam Mar 22, 2026 +55
Only MAGA would be stupid enough to expect different treatment…
55
PuddlesRex Mar 22, 2026 +29
The entire premise of MAGA is expecting different treatment. We see it over and over again. "No abortions for anyone! But my case is different." "Cut all unemployment benefits, because they're just lazy! But my case is different." "They won't deport me, I'm one of the good Latinos!" The list goes on. Every single time they vote against something, it's because they think that it won't impact them, even though it very much will. Then when it does impact them, they think that they deserve special treatment.
29
fermat9990 Mar 21, 2026 +128
Why is the Cuban government so mean to us? /s
128
TailorAncient8283 Mar 22, 2026 +10
they should let them buy then confiscate those diesel
10
Blackjaquesshelaque Mar 21, 2026 +142
Should also stop any food and water to the American embassy during the embargo.
142
nerevisigoth Mar 22, 2026 +6
The US could always just cut diplomatic ties again and close the embassy down. It's only been there since 2015.
6
Blackjaquesshelaque Mar 22, 2026 +2
Like they are using diplomatic ties right now yes? The orange turd uses middle of the night unhinged tweets as communication from what I see.

The U.S. is not capable of diplomacy. Negotiations with governments Trump doesn't like have been repeatedly preludes to attack, and agreements are broken freely. Discussion is pointless.
48

43

38

Like they won’t start shit after iran dies down
21
Empty-Policy-8467 Mar 22, 2026 +2

5

Okay. Let’s just close the embassy in Cuba

2

Checkmate? US can just close their embassy , while Cuba will still have be facing economic collapse.
7

Said facetiously. Americans take their d*** swinging way too seriously. F*** USA.
-5
MixtureSpecial8951 Mar 22, 2026 -14
On the one hand, this is kinda amusing. On the other, the embassy could just sen the fuel inside an oversized diplomatic pouch (there is significant precedent for that sort of thing.

If you think war is just about kill ratios that would explain why you keep losing.
14
InchLongNips Mar 22, 2026 -5
its not losing if we decide to leave lmao losing would be if we got ran out
-5
CJBill Mar 22, 2026 +4
If you leave without achieving your objectives and the people you were fighting achieved their objectives, guess what? You lost, they won.
4
InchLongNips Mar 22, 2026 -2
they didnt achieve their objectives while we were there lmao so we ran their shit, racked up an insurmountable kill ratio, and left not a loss thats for sure edit: buddy wanted to reply and block vietnam - ran their shit with a 10:1 kill ratio, left when conflict lost support. south vietnam held on 2 morw years afghanistan - ran their entire country for 20 years, handed the keys to the military and they surrendered in 6 weeks venezuela - wasnt a regime change, but nice try. we only wanted maduro iran - over 7,000 targets hit, complete air and naval superiority. also not asking for help with the conflict, asking other nations to guard their own ships through the strait while we handle business learn more about history than just “america lost lololol” we didnt lose anything, we run shit then leave
-2
CJBill Mar 22, 2026 +3
Sorry, are we talking about Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan here? I mean, you go to war for a reason; at the end of the day if you pull out and the people you were fighting get what they want, you lost. It's like, get real, if you lose you lose. Man up and live in the real world; at the moment you have the "you can't leave me because I already dumped you" vibe.
3
-Canonical- Mar 22, 2026 +2
So much cope 😭 How’s that Iran war goin for ya? Still begging for help? Edit: Awww the irony of a little MAGA baby whining about getting blocked, then blocking me out of weakness
2
lizurd777 Mar 22, 2026 +8
Vietnam- Failed objective to stop communism spreading to the south Afghanistan- After 2 decades of US occupation, the Taliban took everything back in just a couple weeks. Objective of regime change failed Venezuela- Yes, we captured Maduro. However, his regime is still active. Regime change failed Iran- “We don’t need NATO!” quickly turned into “guys pls help 🥺”
8
InchLongNips Mar 22, 2026 -1
vietnam - ran their shit with a 10:1 kill ratio, left when conflict lost support. south vietnam held on 2 morw years afghanistan - ran their entire country for 20 years, handed the keys to the military and they surrendered in 6 weeks venezuela - wasnt a regime change, but nice try. we only wanted maduro iran - over 7,000 targets hit, complete air and naval superiority. also not asking for help with the conflict, asking other nations to guard their own ships through the strait while we handle business learn more about history than just “america lost lololol” we didnt lose anything, we run shit then leave

lizurd777 Mar 22, 2026 +8
Kill ratio doesn’t decide victory. The Germans lost ~4,000,000 on the Eastern front, and the Soviets lost ~7,000,000. The Soviets of course won Vietnam was still a failure. When the failure happens is irrelevant. We retreated and left South Vietnam to fend for themselves The Afghan military that we trained and armed surrendered in 6 weeks Trump is having a tantrum over allies not backing him in the straight
8
InchLongNips Mar 22, 2026
the germans got counter-attacked the US did not and seems like vietnam and afghanistan were lost my others, not us
0
crazytrain793 Mar 22, 2026 +10
Tactical victories don't really help if you constantly fail strategic goals.
10
InchLongNips Mar 22, 2026
what goal did we fail in vietnam? our goal was to back the south, we left, and they still didnt fall for 2 years pretty good
0
-Canonical- Mar 22, 2026 +7
the goal wasn’t to back the south. it was to keep communism from spreading. and they failed all those Americans dying and getting permanent life-altering injuries sure was worth it, we propped up a failing military junta for 2 years before they collapsed anyway. what a victory!!! LOL, you know so little about war and the military it’s actually cracking me up

Realistically what can they do to stop the US from just bringing it in via Chinook or something similar? Shoot them down, you've given a pretext for invasion.
-20
LeftTurnAtAlbuqurque Mar 22, 2026 +13
Flying it in like that would violate Cuban airspace, and in fact be the actual invasion. So, yes, Cuba could and should shoot it down.
13
grumpymcbart Mar 22, 2026 -12
I don’t think you know what you are talking about..you can’t block diplomats or their equipment from traveling unless you are kicking them out.
-12
RedScaledOne Mar 22, 2026 +11
Even diplomats need airway clerance
11
grumpymcbart Mar 22, 2026 -5
Even in real concerns about war, diplomats aren’t utilized like that to keep a clear line of communication. It’s counterproductive, particularly for Cuba, considering Havana to Guantanamo Bay is only a few hours away.
-5
LeftTurnAtAlbuqurque Mar 22, 2026 +5
