Power outages mean war against civilians. Mine was out for two days last Tues-Wed and the temp inside dropped to 39 (two missing days in my life) But worse when temps are 100 outside, and literally nothing works.

It’s evil and not enough of our politicians are saying it. This isn’t an acceptable action as diplomatic negotiations

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Do you see any path to recovery from the inside of it all?

How many people have died from this, do we know? My first thought is babies in NICUs, people on ventilators, etc.

Trump has said the taking of Cuba is imminent. The man is insane with power. We've already spent over $200 billion on Iran in less than 2 weeks yet governmental agencies have been cut to the bone. We knew Trump 2.0 was going to be bad but this is catastrophic. Leave Cuba the f*** alone you buffoon.

It's almost like a demented old man is being managed by a bunch of militant psychopaths and they're going through a shopping list of old grudges one by one.
This isn't solely on Trump, it's on the people behind him too. And it's on the US electorate for even giving them this power in the first place. And it's on Congress for not stopping it.
It's on the USA as a society really. (okay not the people who voted against Trump, but certainly on the 42% of eligible voters who didn't bother to vote *and* the people who voted for him)

we have not spent 200 billion. we havent even used munitions equivalent to 10 billion yet
That 200 billion that was asked for is about replenishing and expanding production of weapons. Which have been slowly depleting since the War in Ukraine started
I dont know how someone can disagree with what i said
https://abcnews.com/Politics/pentagon-seeking-200b-iran-war-official/story?id=131215890
Unless you think according to that news article "Pentagon officials told a group of senators in a closed-door briefing earlier this month that the war in Iran cost at least $11.3 billion in its first six days."
They then continued to spend 190 billion in the next 9 days

I'll support their 200 billion in weapons when they address student loans. I already watched my massive loan debt stay in place as they wiped a trillion in debt for businesses over the pandemic with PPP loans.

You cannot connect the dots here? It is throwing billions around like it's nothing while we have home grown issues that can obviously be fixed with this kind of money.

im ONLY commenting about the fact that 200 billion in 2 weeks is wrong. I DO NOT care about anything else its irrelevant to what im talking about
This is like me correcting someone about literally anything and then you coming out of nowhere and going BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT X Y and Z expenditures. It doesn't matter to the point im making
It doesnt matter what dots connect to anything else because thats not the conversation being had
HE SAID we spent 200 billion in 2 weeks. I proved that point wrong . The discussion ended there.
The only reply that should have happened to my comment was "okay I/They were wrong" and then we move on with our lives

Can we just take a break from attacking other countries? Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, and Trump is threatening Greenland again. They are speed running destroying the global order. I am guessing because they think they will lose power in November

Iraq, Afghanistan, Veitnam?
This is what America does. Trumps regime is full of evil cowards, but so much work has been put into centralising power in the president. You didn’t get here overnight, the US is a terrifying military powerhouse, the rest of the world fears the attention of your president, regardless what party he serves.

Wow Middle East, I wonder how those problems got started..?
I’m with ya, I said it was stupid to go after isis or try to protect refugees and civilians from those group. Let’s get back to how the U.S. was in Rawanda, that’s what the world wants from the U.S.

Exactly, no well GW Iraq war. Although there would’ve been other groups. Why stop there, keep adding all the Middle East wars and the origins of their causes. Good luck, it was already complicated before the world had a use for the oil.

To bend over backwards to be fair there were reasons for going in to Afghanistan- heck, the US even enjoyed a large amount of global support for that one. Iraq and Vietnam far less so but if you squinted there was an argument to be made they were in Americas interest. A really tenuous shitty argument in both cases mind you.
This is not so much the case any more. Which is part of what has the rest of the world freaked out these days. An America that pursued its own interests was at least predicable and halfway rational even if it wasn’t terribly nice.
But nowadays America appears to be pursuing Trumps interests instead - essentially meaning the special projects of whomever last had his ear and the whims of an evidently increasingly dementia addled brain wanting both self aggrandisement and distraction. Both dangerously unpredictable and irrational.

But America has never stopped. It has been like this for decades.
Trump is just being brutally honest about it and not creating fake excuses like WMD.

That’s such a generalized and uneducated opinion. No, trump is not just being honest about what America always does. Even his closest recent comparison, bush, was very different.

When doing this to nations that have been sanctioned for so long they don't even have a collective memory of the international market economy, the threshold of realizing an uprising is much higher, than among nations that have a lot to lose still, that why i think that when prices rise in the US it's more likely to stir revolutionary sentiments there, than Cuba.
I hope and pray for respite and aid for Cuba, they have been through a grave injustice

I was happy to see what I thought was trying to normalize relations with Cuba during Obama’s administration. Now, I worry about Cuba. I love the music and food, friends tell me they have some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. What does USA do? F*** up their world, and keep a sick detention camp at Guantanamo that is like a cancer on an island where we are not friendly. I wish I could travel to Cuba and enjoy local culture, people, and not be on the team making life difficult for Cuba.
