I was going to comment, data has no weight but 40TB on a phone has got to add .00001 grams or something.

Statutory rapist murdering their victim isn’t on the same bingo card as CP? Not to mention the hierarchy issues

And they Let this menace walk free for almost a year after founding a body in his abandoned car trunk?
14
Ok_Philosopher_1313 Apr 24, 2026 +3
Yes because they had to review 40 TERABYTES of information. They needed to build the case so he can't pull a Trump and dodge consequences.
3
-InFullBloom- Apr 24, 2026 +3
It went from worse to worser
3
Terrible-Suit9991 Apr 23, 2026 +290
Remember the number; 40 terabytes of data to comb through. Not saying it is all CSAM but Christ even a fraction is insane.
290
AnemonesCloser Apr 23, 2026 +143
From what I've read, people who share this kind of material do it in large file dumps because of all the risk around it. They don't want to increase the risk by doing a lot of small file shares. So yes, this is an insane and horrific amount of data, but I think it's fairly typical for these scumbags.
143
neoliberalforsale Apr 23, 2026 +78
It’s some kind of hoarding mentality, I know someone who worked sex crimes back in the pre internet days and he said it the amount of kiddie p*** always fell into: none and an absolutely insane amount. Like finding people with thousand of VHS tapes of it.
78
DentistPitiful5454 Apr 24, 2026 +6
Its like how John K was reported to have stacks of polaroids on his desk.
6
Sirdan3k Apr 23, 2026 +16
Risk is one part but most of the CSAM file dumps are profit motivated and people pay more for bigger numbers.
16
EquivalentSnap Apr 23, 2026 +9
How does that decrease the risk? Surely that increases it if you get caught having that much
9
AnemonesCloser Apr 23, 2026 +23
Specifically the risk of getting caught in the act of file sharing. Like how it's riskier to buy a small amount of drugs on the street than it is to store a kilo in a safe at your house.
23
throwawayyyywego2024 Apr 24, 2026 +4
There's no p****** for this. A place will be up and then down in the same day. So they download as much as they can because they never know when they'll have access again
4
Chardan0001 Apr 23, 2026 +31
40 f****** terabytes?
31
GrimSlayer Apr 23, 2026 +18
F****** disgusting. I don’t even know if I’d hit 40 terabytes if I installed mh entire steam library and I’ve got 600+ games.
18
MVRKHNTR Apr 23, 2026 +13
I found [this tool](https://steamcalculator.org/library-size) which can scan your Steam library and tell you how big it should be. Keep in mind that it doesn't have data for everything so it does a lot of guessing based on averages but it estimated that my Steam library of ~2200 games would take up just over 29TB.

Yup. Only way.

I feel bad for her family
34
xxdropdeadlexi Apr 23, 2026 +91
the whole thing with her family is weird. of course there isn't any hard evidence right now but there are a lot of things that don't add up with their story.
91
JDDJS Apr 23, 2026 +73
Yeah. While there are some notable exceptions, girls with a good family life usually don't fall into the situation that she was in.
73
Particular_Rest_4274 Apr 24, 2026 +4
Yes, I do believe that her parents are partially to blame for this. I'm not saying they deserve it, but how could they have no control over their young child? The only true victim here was Celeste. 😔
4
LiteratureAdept9807 Apr 23, 2026 +58
Her family was in on it and being paid off. They just didn’t think it would result in her death. They failed her
58
jordache_9 Apr 23, 2026 +490
Why wasn’t this added to his list of charges?
490
Pinksamuraiiiii Apr 23, 2026 +294
I’m sure it will be brought up in the trial, now that they have terabytes of data (was at 40 they said?) Sheesh. 😬Glad they got him.
294
Chippewa_Jedi Apr 23, 2026 +43
I’m not sure but I think it was a 40 terabyte hard with evidence on it not 40 terabytes worth of evidence but headlines will be headlines.
43
MissionReasonable327 Apr 23, 2026 +12
True, and also still, guy was like, must buy a massive drive because one or two terabytes simply will not be enough!
12
Valliac0 Apr 24, 2026 +6
That's usually how material with evidence like that is handled. If it's a 10TB drive and they find one picture, they list the whole drive as evidence; which from the outside looks like a whole 10TBs worth.
6
neoliberalforsale Apr 23, 2026 +144
Unrelated to the murder, they can always file the charges later and amend the indictment or pursue him after he’s done with this trial. Murder is the domain of Robbery and homicide division of LAPD. Juvenile Division detectives do sex crimes involving children. They likely are doing their own investigation separate from the murder now.
144
katikaboom Apr 23, 2026 +48
Apparently she was a witness in a seperate investigation, so you're likely correct and other charges will be coming.
48
neoliberalforsale Apr 23, 2026 +42
I assumed that crime was her being a witness to her own statutory r***/child p*** he likely produced with her, and that is the aggravating offense for the murder charge. You could be right and it could be unrelated to that as well.
42
Positive-Drawing-281 Apr 23, 2026 +8
Isn't he already being considered for the death penalty?
8
Omnio89 Apr 23, 2026 +8
Any prison term he gets will probably end with him dead. High profile with CSAM? He’s not going to have a good time.
8
neoliberalforsale Apr 23, 2026 +22
High profile means he’s going into protective custody. A life sentence (which is what he’ll get, California has a moratorium on the death penalty) means he’ll be in the highest security prison, and likely in a SHU. He will spend 23.5 hours of his life in a one man cell and get 30 minutes a day to walk around something that looks like a squash court alone.
22
Omnio89 Apr 23, 2026 +8
I love a happy ending
8
mymemesnow Apr 24, 2026 +1
Would be better if he didn’t get the 30 min either, but still.
1
QuizzicalWombat Apr 23, 2026 +3
I think it could be added potentially. I know they said a special computer was needed before they could really review them so maybe they are waiting before they have the full scope.
3
Just_Candle_315 Apr 23, 2026 +11
Probably because many high ranking government officials ALSO have "tons" of child p********** on their phones
11
petit_cochon Apr 24, 2026 +7
No. It's because prosecuting crimes takes time. It's not as easy as tweeting something.
7
satanssweatycheeks Apr 23, 2026 +8
They all also apparently have access to pic Biden’s son’s d*** and claimed they would share it. But never did. But sure it’s Biden who is the weird one.
8
Cantre-r_Gwaelod_1 Apr 23, 2026 +1
Do they categorise CSA content where he is? They might need to try and do that first which could take time.
1
mymemesnow Apr 24, 2026 +1
He’s most likely getting life in prison either way.
1

7

And he's only 21. It's a sad case. Unless he is meant to teach someone something I'm jail, it's such a waste of life.
1
indy_been_here Apr 24, 2026 +9
55-60 years behind bars. Either gen pop where he'd be absolutely tortured. Or isolation where he'd be absolutely tortured. Maybe he should have thought of that. May she haunt him the whole time.

How do these degenerates get famous. Just throw away the key FFS. This guy's catalogue of music should be wiped from the face of the planet and be inaccessible.

Tbf he had some talent, he was a good singer and a lot of his songs went super viral on Tiktok. He also made music for Arcane, Invincible and Fortnite too. Most people who use Tiktok/Insta will know his most popular song but probably not know he sings it.

SistahFuriosa Apr 23, 2026 +19
The more information that's released sinks my heart how Celeste was failed by so many people around her. At the end of the day she's a child! A victim! Full Justice for Celeste 🤍
19
Gordmonger Apr 23, 2026 +63
The child p********** on his phone is most likely of Celeste…
63
Cantre-r_Gwaelod_1 Apr 23, 2026 +22
Considering his other crimes and preferences he’s shared publicly I suspect a Peter Scully type collection. Don’t look up his crimes if you don’t know, they’re sadistic towards children. Know all abuse is sadistic but he took things to extremes. Idk what the law is like where he is but maybe that alone is enough to put him away for life.
22
brattysweat Apr 23, 2026 +17
Probably, but imagine what he had before he knew her and why he had to kill her…
17
dragonslayerbarbie Apr 23, 2026 +19
I was thinking the same but I also feel like it is of other children as well because 40 terabytes is a f****** ton of hard drive space. I don't even think he would have known her long enough to get that much CSAM content from her...
19
chloetheestallion Apr 23, 2026 +17
He knew her since she was 11
17
TikkiEXX77 Apr 23, 2026 +6
Not to mention probably pics and videos of other minors he slept with possibly. But I definitely think he had CSAM content from other sources too.
6
REDDIT_JUDGE_REFEREE Apr 24, 2026 +2
The 40TB of evidence is the full collection of data from discovery. It'll include everything from every owned laptop, desktop pc (he was a game streamer so probably a good chunk of volume there), phones, Tesla data, and even friends phones/computers. Since the DA didn't pursue any CSAM charges, I have to assume it's probably of Celeste. That being said, I don't think the DA has a slam-dunk case. It's taken 8+ months to bring charges, and they still haven't released evidence to the defense. If I had to guess they don't have very solid "glue" to stick the murder charge on him. Should be interesting to watch this case play out.
2
Gordmonger Apr 23, 2026 +6
40 terabytes?! That’s insane
6
thefugue Apr 23, 2026 +1
He could have shot in 4k at a big frame rate.
1
JDDJS Apr 23, 2026 +20
Some of it almost certainly, but 40 TB indicates that he was likely trading with other monsters. If Law & Order SVU is accurate, it's very common for these sickos to share their stashes with other sickos. Maybe this can lead to them catching more of these sickos.
20
PocketVariance Apr 23, 2026 +9
I could imagine those being music and production files
9
Suolojavri Apr 23, 2026 +3
Prob interrogation videos + their transcripts in pdfs, storage dumps of all involved devices and the Tesla, lab results, etc.
3
REDDIT_JUDGE_REFEREE Apr 24, 2026 +2
It was 40TB of evidence, which can include hours of his phone video, police interrogations, computer files, etc. Dude probably had pics of Celeste, which is why CP isn't something they're pursuing criminally (just rolled into his current charge).
2
Ok-Street7504 Apr 23, 2026 +25
You would think him knowing he's going to be arrested any moment for her murder that he would have cleared his phone of anything unsavory.
25
the_main_entrance Apr 23, 2026 +11
Think the IQ in sub 60 with this one.
11
rjcarr Apr 24, 2026 +6
Exactly. How you leave this shit on your phone when you’re suspect #1 for a year?
6
estemprano Apr 24, 2026 +2
He had multiple phones. Maybe he thought he could give them a different one than this?
2
sucobe Apr 23, 2026 +27
To put into perspectives 40 terabytes can be: 10 million phone camera photos or 5 million DSR camera photos or 11,000 hours of HD (1080p) or 2,500 hours of 4K footage.
27
VDJ10 Apr 23, 2026 +9

4
Doucevie Apr 23, 2026 +31
Child p********** is not a thing. It implies consent and kids can't consent. Child sexual abuse material is the term you should be using.
31
PackyScott Apr 23, 2026 +29
The legal definitions are still using the term “child p**********”. Although CSAM is a better descriptor, it hasn’t made it to the main stream yet.
29
Terminated_Entropy Apr 23, 2026 +18
Not a single normal person pairs consent with child p**********. CSAM has yet to take hold as the normal phrase to use.
18
luminous_moonlight Apr 23, 2026 +15
P********** does not imply consent or age of majority. Please stop working PR for the likes of P****** and O******* on a volunteer basis.
15
jimmysmiths5523 Apr 23, 2026 +8
The first term takes less time to say and most people use it.
8
alex_c89X Apr 23, 2026 +1
I have never thought about that and you're absolutely right. We really need to change this terminology.
1

He knew that the Tesla being “abandoned” would eventually be impounded; and buried in a lot amongst all the other abandoned cars. Then, it would eventually be totaled, and she’d be totaled right along with it. The “cadaver” bags she was in weren’t smell proof….

3
Aus66-1045 Apr 24, 2026 +3
The illegal material was in an iCloud account, not directly on his phone, but was obviously accessible from it. The 40 terabytes relates to the amount of evidence they have, but not all of it is the illegal p**********.
3
TidderBeeDub Apr 24, 2026 +3
Let’s do better… stop sexualizing children. It’s not “child p***.” It’s child sexual assault material, TMZ.
