Risk is one part but most of the CSAM file dumps are profit motivated and people pay more for bigger numbers.

the whole thing with her family is weird. of course there isn't any hard evidence right now but there are a lot of things that don't add up with their story.

Apparently she was a witness in a seperate investigation, so you're likely correct and other charges will be coming.

The 40TB of evidence is the full collection of data from discovery. It'll include everything from every owned laptop, desktop pc (he was a game streamer so probably a good chunk of volume there), phones, Tesla data, and even friends phones/computers. Since the DA didn't pursue any CSAM charges, I have to assume it's probably of Celeste. That being said, I don't think the DA has a slam-dunk case. It's taken 8+ months to bring charges, and they still haven't released evidence to the defense. If I had to guess they don't have very solid "glue" to stick the murder charge on him. Should be interesting to watch this case play out.

It was 40TB of evidence, which can include hours of his phone video, police interrogations, computer files, etc. Dude probably had pics of Celeste, which is why CP isn't something they're pursuing criminally (just rolled into his current charge).

He had multiple phones. Maybe he thought he could give them a different one than this?
