Boring filler episode with pointless flashbacks and bad writing.

Can’t believe some of the comments in here. People really are getting dumber and dumber. That was one of the best episodes in the entire series (including the original show). This was Emmy worthy stuff

I could say the same to you. I see people praising a clip show filler episode that was edited like a Naruto filler episode where 90% of what was in it was redundant and unnecessary. And people are calling it one of the greatest episodes. How far the bar has fallen. Good acting or not, it was filler.

Next time a show has a patient in the ER and a loved one is trying to force their way inside and screaming, I want the ER staff to just stop and back away.

To be fair, this is the Kingpin we're talking about.

Yeah, they were trying to convey the “walking on eggshells” vibe. He was losing his composure.
I think it would have been interesting if they had made Kingpin so angry that he becomes part of the reason she actually dies because doctors are too scared to approach during his tantrums. He’d go in full denial and double down on blaming vigilantes

What was the point of Buck being in the flashbacks? In present day he's explaining to Gandolfini how Fisk giving him his "one chance" to make something of himself is so important. If he didn't outright say it, it's definitely implied that Fisk gave Buck a big opportunity to make something of himself too. But then the Buck flashback had nothing to do with being given a big opportunity by Fisk? It was just a run of the mill hit on a low-level goon that he actually flubbed...?
Very strange stuff when the other flashback stuff (Fisk+Vanessa and Matt+Foggy) were so strongly tied thematically to the current day stuff.

It was to mirror himself with Danny. He didn't come into Fisk's life as some suave and polished man. He was wayward and lost, but rose up through his loyalty to Fisk. It helps explain why he has taken a shine to Danny and is working to bring him closer into the fold even though he knows he is the leak. He would rather give him the opportunity to fix his mistake and take the chance he had received than have to use the bone saw on him

I guess you're saying Fisk gave Buck a chance to continue working for him after he failed the low-level hit. Which kind of makes sense. Just seemed much weaker than the other parts of the flashbacks.

Yeah, not gonna lie, we need to bring back Foggy full time. Heart and soul of the series.
20
suss2itApr 17, 2026

They cannot do that. Matt trying so hard to save Bullseye and even going back to save him *because* of Foggy’s own morals would be rendered completely meaningless if they actually bring Foggy back to life.

I was just thinking about that last night after watching the episode. With the MCU being in the middle of the "Multiverse Saga", what if Secret Wars shenanigans bring Foggy back?
The Arrowvwerse did something similar where a couple of characters who had died or been erased from existence due to time travel mishaps got brought back post-Crisis.

Best episode of the series but...
Once again, wtf is wrong with the image quality. Lack of sharpness and so grainy, it honestly feels like a 480p version of what we should be getting. Is some intern handling the uploads to Disney+? It feels like watching VHS tape.
Not too mention how terribly lit a lot of the scenes were.

Because he's despotic and unaccustomed to being checked, not just by other people but by reality/life itself. His wife is lucid and comforting her is all that matters because she's all that matters to him in that moment.
I'm howling tbh. It's poetic and just desserts that Vanessa dies and Fisk feels an extra twist of the knife. When the episode began with her in the hospital I was afraid they were copping out but they really just killed her ass twice.

So ... What the actual f***?
Matt Murdock has to be talked into not letting a guy get killed in prison?
Matt Murdock has to be talked into exercising the legal leverage of a search warrant that was wrong?
Matt Murdock has to be talked into believing a person can be redeemed?
The same guy who believed Elektra should work the system when her father was killed. The same guy who is founded on religion and redemption and forgiveness.
I get that the show is establishing Foggy as his moral center for Murdock so please spare telling me I didn't get it. The Matt Murdock moment of moral weakness ... It's against his essence from the moment he saved a blind man from getting hit by a vehicle with radioactive sludge.
This is a show that betrays character for drama in the moment.
And then those deliberate, heavy-handed Sopranos echos, but not nearly as gritty -sigh- Saying "f***" doesn't give a show realism or grit, hard won character development does.
Let the downvotes commence, but all of this is real. Oh and, climax, Vanessa is fine. Except ... Same cliffhanger.

Tbh I’ve kinda just accepted that, no matter what, this sub wasn’t gonna like what Disney did with Daredevil even if it somehow exceeded Netflix quality(not saying it has). They’ve had their knives sharpened for Disney and the MCU to “ruin” it ever since it was official Cox was back.
These past 2-3 episodes have easily been as good as the Netflix show, albeit maybe not quite hitting the tallest peaks. Hell, I’d argue ever since episode 8 of last season that the show has been in the quality area of the old show.

True, but that also doesn’t tell the full story. Marvel Television at the time the Netflix shows were being developed was run under the ABC division of Disney and had no real association with Marvel Studios.

I love how they always lean in with how Foggy's has always been Matt's Jiminy Cricket. This episode was no exception. God, how I've missed Foggy.
I also love how the DD suit is going from black to more and more red with every episode.
Also, kudos with the show going against the cliche of actors drinking from empty cups with Cox and Henson drinking from the clear beer bottle.

Man, Michael Gandolfini has gotten *really* good. And I know this has been said a lot recently, but he may as well have been his dad in that scene alone in the car. I can't wait to see what he does in the future.

"Maybe tonight's penance is mutual". This episode really cuts to the core of Matt's character. Even his catholic faith wasn't enough. But him fully coming to terms with what he always knew Foggy would've wanted was the deciding factor... and he chose to honor Foggy's legacy.
