Oh, that’s why Dave is doing interviews denying he’s a conservative

All the conservative president does is cry on social media and to the press. What are you even talking about?

FadeTheWonder 6 days ago +83
All conservatives do is cry about literally everything.

So is he trying to balance his trans hate with Eddie Murphys love of trans ?
123
kafka_lite 6 days ago +45
Maybe he wants Murphy to bring back the 1985 homophobe jokes.

DSMStudios 5 days ago +9
oh yeah! the ones where he used the word “f****t” over and over again? those ones?

I always thought Eddie Murphy’s fall because of his love of trans sex workers was at the root of Dave’s hatred of the trans community.

Ilikereefer 5 days ago +8
I would watch that documentary for sure

What’s a sex worker??

More like Chappelle Show didn't truly blow up until Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood stories, so he probably figures he needs another Murphy to take from.

Chappelle was already a massive hit by the time they did the Rick James sketch in season 2.  Shit, it was a hit after the debut episode which was the the Clayton Bigsby episode
9
naitsirt89 6 days ago +54
Maybe JK Rowling can appear in some of the sketches??

Is it wrong to say that it was funny when Elon was booed when Dave brough him on stage? And Dave was like "Looks like these were the people who you fired."

I used to love Dave, but that was a long time ago, and if he's seriously floating the idea of rebooting what make him, he must be truly desperate

I dont think the world needs more of dave crying about trans people. He should go tour with jim bruer and leave normal folks alone.

I used to watch and rewatch all of his specials. He was easily one of my favorite comedians. Then he made a trans joke, got dragged on Twitter, and responded with that whole “Twitter is not a real place” line. But after that, he spent the next several years making specials centered around trans people, which made it pretty clear he was far more bothered by Twitter than he claimed. I haven’t watched anything from him since that second(?) Netflix special where he literally spent the entire show talking about trans people. I’m not even an LGBTQ ally beyond “they aren’t bothering anyone, so leave them alone. ” Dave’s trans obsession was just sad and exhausting.
55
WontArnett 5 days ago +17
Sad and extremely odd. My guess is that he’s actually attracted to trans women.
17
ProdigalSheep 5 days ago +5
Yeah, the lady doth protest too much.
5
Kaiisim 5 days ago +2
Agreed. He was brilliant... honestly taught me stuff about America and racism. But then he decided that white transgendered women were the greatest threat to black people??? And wouldn't stfu about it.
2
BromaEmpire 5 days ago +1
At a certain point I think the jokes were directed more toward people who were trying to tell him what he was/wasn't allowed to say or that he was cancelled, rather than trans community.
1
GoldDoubleCup 6 days ago -10
Which one of these specials were centered around trans people? I feel like these exaggerations don’t help any minority cause.
-10
Professional_Net7339 6 days ago +16
That 6 special netflix run from 2017-2020 something each had a 20+ minute segment specifically about trans ppl
16
GoldDoubleCup 6 days ago -17
You don’t feel silly at all for exaggerating to this degree?
-17
ProdigalSheep 5 days ago +14
I don’t remember anything about those specials EXCEPT the fact that he was obsessed with trans people. It was all weird as hell.
14
GoldDoubleCup 5 days ago -11
That seems to expose your bias more than anything
-11
ProdigalSheep 5 days ago +5
Bias toward what?
5
betterplanwithchan 5 days ago +6

You have expressed no interesting thoughts and you have no value to me. Disappear.

Agent-Two-THREE 5 days ago -18
Lmao seriously. Dont understand how this has morphed into Chappelle being transphobic. People just love to find any reason to hate on people. Chappelle was, and still is, the GOAT standup.
-18
ProdigalSheep 4 days ago
I really don’t understand how people can justify applying this label to him. He had a couple good specials before he disappeared. His specials after returning have been okay. His show was great but that’s outside of the scope when the subject is greatest standup. I feel like there are a lot of comics way ahead of him in that conversation.

Someone should let Dave know what kind of prostitutes Eddy Murphy likes to "give a ride home" to.
12
GoldDoubleCup 6 days ago +3
I’m sure he would have a good laugh about it. Have you actually seen Dave act weird and phobic to people?
3
CarrieDurst 5 days ago +8
Yeah like making up stories about trans people bullying someone to death
8
GoldDoubleCup 5 days ago +1
I’m sure trans people have never bullied anyone but I was talking about his personal life, off the stage. Huge difference between media and reality.
1
CarrieDurst 5 days ago +5
Never said that but there is absolutely no proof of it when there would be on twitter. His stand up shows his beliefs. media and your reality can interplay when you are the writer of it
5
GoldDoubleCup 5 days ago
Oh my God his stand-up shows his belief??? Hey so can you give me an example of this horrid transphobia? Because no one has explained it to me. It should be really incredibly simple to explain. At some point you have to understand that the Internet has socially formed you into a control freak.
0
CarrieDurst 5 days ago +5
His wholesale lying shows his belief yes, and I just listed an example. A person he knew who he claimed was a friend committed suicide because she lost custody of her kid and her job. He made up her being bullied by trans people for days and saying that is what drove her to suicide when that is false and her friends who knew it also spoke out against his lies. He didn't even know his 'friend' has a kid
5
GoldDoubleCup 5 days ago
You’re saying he’s lying in a stand-up comedy show? Like making up a story? Are you saying that he didn’t talk to a baby on the street at midnight?
0
CarrieDurst 5 days ago +5
There was no absurdity in the story, nor were there any jokes outside his misgendering. The baby in the street is obviously satirical to get a laugh while this part was not. He is getting more into fart sniffing and less jokes and this fell into the non joke part

He said he was team TERF and then did a terrible Chinese accent

When Murphy apologised for his homophobic jokes he did so when he still had a successful mainstream acting career going, and the jokes he made he had done so when he was in his early 20s. Chappelle is starting his apology tour out of sheer desperation after spending years tanking his own image with an increasing number of people who were either hurt, offended, or just plain tired of the same shit jokes. Jokes that he has been making comfortably into his 50s. Eddie is well liked and has evolved as a person, Dave is not and has not.

Ok Dave, run back to Saudi Arabia to murder some trans people.

Anyways besides all the trans hate stuff, It would be great to see Chappelle with Murphy just like the old show with Charlie Murphy

I wasn't aware anyone gave a shit about Eddie Murphy or Dave Chappelle in 2026. Edit: I was clearly incorrect. Awful taste is alive and well.

FadeTheWonder 5 days ago
I love when people insult other people’s taste in humor or beauty or well anything that is subjective. It shows how small of a person they are.
