Let’s be honest about this. He did not apologize at all. He blamed his bipolar disorder. Plenty of people have bipolar disorder and don’t do disgusting shit like this. But on top of that, he dodged accountability by blaming it on an illness. He acts if he was possessed by a demon and had no control over his own actions. If that really is the case then what is stopping it from happening again? Also, bipolar disorder is generally understood as the erratic mood swings. His comments went on for months and months his shirt with a swastika on. It was for sale on his site for a long while. If this was really just a mood swing problem he would have taken it down the moment he was out of that state. But it took weeks to design and get the shirt posted. This was no problem with bipolar disorder. It was him being willingly bigoted and hateful.

Dude drops an album that isn't even in his top five, drops a half-assed apology and claims it was a psychotic break, and then just expects everybody to forget like the MIB nuerolizer. The Kanye West subs believe Jesus is back. Have people always been like this? So.... Extreme.

AScannerBarkly 6 days ago +90
As a kid I always thought he was the most annoying one. Now that I'm grown I feel fairly comfortable calling Schwimmer the best (comedic) actor of the core cast. His re-delivery of "my best friend and sister are getting married!" is about the best delivery of anything in the series
90
VidE27 6 days ago +81
He was also the one responsible for everyone getting the same pay despite originally him and Aniston were the highest paid casts

35
RayTracerX 6 days ago +10
The scene with Mona and Dr. Greene is the best in the whole show. Davids brilliant in that one
10
Andysue28 6 days ago +19
He’s a far better physical comedian than I remembered and he played a great older brother to Monica. That’s hard to pull off and feel 100% real.
19
Rigbeezyboo 6 days ago +6
Sorry to be Mr Pedantic... It's actually a re-delivery of "My best friend, and my sister" when he first finds out about Monica and Chandler. Your main point is valid though. In the later seasons especially.

He flashed the mental illness card and they immediately forgive him. But the truth is they probably never actually cared. That antisemitism and hate aren’t deal breakers if a person is entertaining enough. We live in a *massively* unhealthy society. It’s frightening.
84
sally_says 6 days ago +9
>We live in a *massively* unhealthy society. It’s frightening. Because of social media, where shit floats to the top because there are no rules. The more badly behaved you are, the more engagement and ad dollars you get. And it's dragging us all down.

While Ross as a character is boring and sucks, David Schwimmer in almost any other production he is a part of really stands out as a great actor/voice actor. Good for him for raking in that Friend's money, but he is a much better actor than what he did in that show.

Wireless festival is a festival for 18-20 year olds that still think it’s cool to listen to scumbags. The artists performing there will feel honoured to share the stage with Kanye.

Agree. Where is Kanye’s documentation of his evolution and growth? Individual therapy, group therapy, mandated pysch meds, and a 100 page paper written (no AI allowed) on the history of anti-semitism. Second chances are absolutely warranted when someone puts in the work. Moving your lips to form the words “I’ve changed” has zero to do with actual, in-the-trenches work to dig into why anti-semitic conspiracies appealed to him in an age of unfettered access to knowledge and data.

Not a terrible apology but I’m not sure if a written apology will work. He needs to be seen and heard apologizing.
16
Big-Sheepherder-9492 6 days ago +8
There’s a video of him apologising to a Rabbi
8
ImitatingADog 6 days ago +6
I’m genuinely asking this. What is the difference between a written and a spoken apology?
6
theonetowalkinthesun 6 days ago +37
The written apology might not have even grazed his eyes
37
The_MightyMonarch 6 days ago +15
Well, for one thing, with a written apology, it's entirely possible it was written and published by his PR team without any actual engagement from him. Also, it's hard to read sincerity from a written apology. His voice and body language when apologizing verbally would give stronger indications of whether he's sincere and actually feels remorse. But to me, it's less about wanting a verbal apology and more about seeing him try to undo the damage he did. He spread a lot of hate on a lot of platforms. Let's see him go on podcasts and social media and talk about why the stuff he said was wrong.
15
big_cock_lach 6 days ago +5
It’s far easier to grasp the sincerity from a spoken apology.
5
carlotta3121 6 days ago +3
The publicist who wrote it put it out. He still hasn’t apologized directly nor denounced or removed his Hitler song, that I’m aware of anyway.
3
criterionhaver 6 days ago +3
Not defending him, but he did apologize to a Rabbi in person and pulled all his antisemitic tracks from all streaming services.
