With good reason. Terrific cast, lots of juicy dark humor and Williams is on point (as he was in Insomnia and One Hour Photo around that time) but oh lord it’s Cringe City way too often.

I haven’t seen it in forever but I would say weird and quirky more than cringey at all, I remember liking the movie and no one else in my family liking it, I watched it several times.

It’s a great movie. Audiences (read “idiots”) did not understand that children’s TV characters could be bad guys. They were confused by that.

This movie is CRIMINALLY underrated. The whole thing is a banger.. it's brilliant. And it has my favorite quote "you can't change the world, but you can make a dent"

I LOVE this movie. I watch it most Christmases. It's so funny with great characters and performances and a shit ton of heart. As far as living rent free in my head, I'd say something make me think of the following quotes at least once a month... "For what Randy!? A****** money!" "I thought we had the beginnings of a real collaboration." "It's a rocket ship!" "Alright, Sheldon. I uh gotta go take a dump."

Williams is so good in this scene because he plays Rainbow like a guy who knows he’s already done, he just can’t stop digging. DeVito really let the whole meltdown spiral into pure secondhand embarrassment, which is why it still works.

The anger, and the voice don;t match the speed and aggression of the lamp swings. It's actually a horrible scene IMO.
