The meritocracy argument is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. It’s one thing to say you’re ending quotas,but it’s another thing entirely to unilaterally strike names from a promotion list that was already vetted by a non political board. These four officers didn't just appear out of nowhere, they spent 20+ years earning those stars, only to be blocked because of an academic paper or 'ideological' concerns.

In the words of the immortal and beloved animated television character, Rick Sanchez “Your boos mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer” Being passed over for a promotion from this scum is basically a badge of honor, and getting promoted by them immediately brings your character and capability into question.

Hegseth is just a POS. I cannot begin to say how unqualified that guy is for the position he holds but typical trump appointee, has no qualifications, he just thought they looked good on TV! Duh

Hegseth pretty openly believes only white men should hold any major positions in the military, black men can only be grunts, and women cannot serve at all. It's no wonder most of the military hates him.
