See Trump family takes Covid vaccine and tells people to get it as well.
See MAGA believe it’s a Democrat conspiracy and can’t be trusted.
Strange as it may appear, indeed, but all is considered normal in the ~~Twilight Zone~~ MAGA world.🌀🌀🌀

It’s referred to as a “Cult of Personality”. It’s common amongst authoritarian leaders and populist demagogues (Trump qualifies as both). The greatest weakness is that the “great leader” rarely allows anyone to be seen an as an “heir apparent”, because that threatens their power (look at how Trump went after Ron Desantis or Mike Pence, for example), so when the great leader is gone the group of supporters cannibalize themselves fighting over who should replace the leader. This is typical, and a hope, but not necessarily a prediction.

Trump is a weak person, who used cruelty to enforce power.
Weak people find this attractive, and follow him out of a desire to be like him. Hence why lots of hate groups align with him. Often, hate is a coping mechanism for feeling weak or powerless.

This is much easier for fascist authoritarian leaders in comic books, where the leader is typically *also* the Big Bad(tm) and is capable of personally defeating his own army in hand-to-hand combat.
Real-world leaders generally have to make sure that all of their own subordinates hate each other so much that none of them will join forces with each other to take over. An actual line of succession is pretty much the opposite of what they want.

Yeah pretty much. I know the word on the street is Patrushev would likely succeed him, but Patrushev is older than Putin. Medvedev is a pawn and a raging alcoholic whose only value is shitposting on Twitter. It'll be weird when Putin dies. MAGA doesn't have a successor but the USA is still a Democracy. The Republican Party still has people with support. Seeing Trump croak and some other person who doesn't have the same cult of personality take over is inevitable.

Not sure it holds any weight but Anna Luna who daily bitches and moans about getting SAVE passed was groveling today budget reconciliation was put on the table despite senate gop that this move would get them nowhere and that it was just Thune trying to appease everyone.
Save is an unfunded mandate plus a lot more, but since it doesn't directly affect budget or taxes it doesn't fit the contents.
Plus the other issue they'd face is that Dems could keep making infinite proposed revisions and amendments during the debate time.
17
TheCrimsonSteelMar 25, 2026

Reconciliation has limits and rules, so it can't work on everything
IIRC it has to involve federal funds, so any laws that just add rules without messing with funding don't get to count under the reconciliation rules, or something like that
It's why some of the budget omnibus bills dont need the filibuster, they meet the reconciliation criteria while other bills don't, and can be filibustered
46
Nerv_Agent_666Mar 25, 2026

Yep, I know how it's supposed to work. The Dems have to bring up concerns to the Senate Parliamentarian and they review it. IIRC there were things they got left in there last year for the Big Shitty Bill that shouldn't have, but they made it through anyway. Also since they control the Senate, they could theoretically replace the Senate Parliamentarian if they felt they needed to.
Basically, don't get complacent because the rules make you feel safe.

They aren't trying to get the SAVE act correctly implemented. Instead, its supposed to be implemented and create significant Republican disenfranchisement alongside the rest, so as to stir anger, chaos and doubt in election results. About 5 states with this phenomenon would be workable. Then feds use authoritarian means (Trump and co) to "declare" "winners" of the "election" (Republican candidates).
It's so much easier to break things, sow doubt, and authoritarian-declare than to implement the workable suppression at the level they need. It just needs to be haphazard, chaotic, and with angry cohorts of disenfranchised Republican voters.

Mar a lago, if memory serves, is on a barrier island. A landfill would cause immense damage to what's left of that ecosystem.
Similarly, rentt-stabilized housing shouldn't go here either, because the residents would then have to look at mar a lago every day.
Therefore, we should look for low-key environmental impact development that doesn't care about the loss of property values they get from being next door to a child sex trafficking hub. I suggest a high-rise, high density office hub campus accessible exclusively by a rail line that is installed to it from the city proper as part of a city public transit effort that places all its maintenance facilities in billionaire areas and attempts to bulldoze though only the most affluent neighborhoods to create stations in under-served communities. It should obstruct every view from the estate, and as for who should be the tenant should be, I suggest a CDC virology lab at the highest possible clearance. Make sure the design of the campus allows for shoreline reclamation but specifically funnels wave energy toward marmalado to protect the shoreline and campus from hurricanes.

Yeah, Dems are gaining ground because the Republicans fucked up enough that they couldnt time the economy to collapse during the middle of a Dems term like they usually do.
But the voters are still gonna punish the Dems for not fixing the destruction the Republicans caused fast enough eventually.
Its a tale as old as time.

They only realize republicans suck when they have real problems and it's obvious republicans are making up fake issues to coverup the bad. But when they are doing good, like under democrats, they believe the fake issues the right comes up with. Not sure if it's boredom or an addiction to vitriol. Probably a bit of both.

I mean - I think part of that feeling is:
- ICE is detaining and shipping off our neighbors
- We've entered *another* war that will destroy our economy
- Cost of living is skyrocketing and we can see exactly who and what is causing it
- People are more aware than ever that Trump is an actual pedo
I'm sure I'm missing more stuff but a lot of these parameters were not solidly understood by Americans pre-2024. Even though all the signs were there, it was ignored. But now people cant ignore it. Its on their doorstep and its f****** up their lives.
I mean, we are actually talking about being vulnerable to an attack on American soil. For a lot of Americans, that was not on their bingo card, even in the 2016 Trump admin.

I have tea. did you all know there is 1 billionaire per every 150 people living on palm beach? (it's an island.) do you know who hates no-fly zones?
billionaires in tax-havens who don't like sitting 2 hours in a car to reach their helicopter or plane. this fall they tested a full-time no fly zone and height airspace restrictions over palm beach because mar a lago was such a global security threat. it was wildly angering. so trump's admin goes and makes it year-round two months ago, they are pointing out it's bs because he's here half the week and they first adapted to that. now he's threatening lifelong for secret service airspace. which means only his people get in and out. they are not happy. "why is he even here" hes supposed to be islanding in potomac river.
the airspace altitude restriction means all of their art smells like jet fuel now and the noise is so bad no one can sleep or go outside. lots of politics all of a sudden. town halls, yard signs, they set up websites, lobbyists, they hired people to be outraged for them and make a big public presence of it, not kidding, its really in your face. someone made a "quiet skies coalition" for them because it sounds dope. someone brought in top global medical experts to say the emissions are bad for their health, just all kinda of melodrama. they don't like military rules and requiring stuff now. they don't like waiting in flight lines. if you don't know, it's a whole anger thing because palm beach, touching the ocean, a far eastern tip of country, easily accesses south america, europe, new york, middle east/africa. straight water ahead with no states or countries in the way. (that's ideal because less jurisdiction over airspace = effectively no rules, no need to ask permissions) so I wouldn't take florida as a good example just yet. like there's probably more angry money here than anywhere at the moment at the administration. they don't want to have to fly out of new york. nyc takes a traffic drive and a helicopter to pop to a jet yard in connecticut. no billionaire wants to deal with the wtf of being a person that the rest of us do. being a mortal has too many steps. only 'his' people get to fly in and out with his family/administration/marital orbit, he's in charge of palm beach airspace.
its bizark seeing non-residents form coalitions for possibly the worst political cause of all time. and thank you for reading. this has been the very long story of the birth of the least deserving civic uprising, with advocacy of the stupidest issues for the most selfish people.

Dems have won basically every special election this past year. It's absolutely indicative of the massive shift. Dems are sweeping the nation, and midterms are basically going to rob Trump of every fragment of control he has right now.

It's genuinely ironic that the loudest voices against mail-in voting are the ones using it themselves. This local flip is a powerful reminder that no district is a guaranteed lock. We absolutely cannot afford to be complacent, because every single vote is the only real counter to their playbook. Moments like this prove that showing up is what actually moves the needle.

This basically is definitive proof that Trump and his regime are done for. Almost every special election has been a runaway victory for Dems.
Midterms are going to be a slaughter. The blue wave is going to be unprecedented; a dem majority in Congress is assured, and even Senate looks like it could be a democrat sweep.
This nightmare is just about over. Can't wait to see all these goons in prison next year.

This makes all the ICE stuff all the more scary. They are seriously going to try to steal or flat out prevent the mid-terms. They know there is a major wave coming to knock them down and they are going to do anything to hang on to power. Let's just hope that if that can prevented the Democrats actually show some backbone for once and quit meeting these fools in the middle.
