Chuck Schumer has GOT to go. Not just for age reason, not just for shit shitacularly bad leadership but his total lack of political gamespersonship is embarrassing. Read the room Schumer, pack your shit and git!

The definition of the wrong man for the moment. Chuck has had so many chances to be a fierce advocate for accountability and the rule of law, but he has consistently prioritized an imaginary Republican family over the needs of his constituents.

Not enough people talk about the made up family he wrote into his books, speeches, and media statements. An absolute loon.

Imagine a family dressing up real nice (exactly how they are described in the book) and going up to chuck in public saying “we’re the baileys that have been helping you and we think it’s time to retire” just to see his public reaction to his made up family now standing in front of him.

The best part of the JO skit about the Baileys is what a good job they did portraying well-to-do middle aged trump voters on long island. So many people have this thin veneer of politeness and progressiveness but if you give them just a little space and prompting theyll start saying some seriously regressive shit lol.
34
NotThatHandsomePete Mar 31, 2026 +35
You leave the poor Baileys alone. What did they ever do to anyone? Or do at all?
35
KittyInspector3217 Apr 1, 2026 +14
What did the baileys do? Pretty sure mom crashed the minivan er i mean, MB GL crossover SUV into 14 parked cars after drinking too much at a prime in huntington because an uber back to trashapequa was too pricey after arguing about the steak and trying to send it back and snapping her fingers at the wait staff because her drink doesnt taste right. I think i saw dad beat the shit out of a bunch of teenagers last weekend who beat him in beer pong at their inherited west end long beach summer house with a trump flag plastered across the balcony and he definitely loud talks in the quiet car of the 7am LIRR every morning in a queens accent while vaping and scratching his beer gut. May or may not have ran over people at night driving his boat drunk around zack’s bay for 4th of July fireworks and double parks his leased porsche cayenne at the stop and shop so his wife doesnt have to walk across the parking lot because chivalry, but wont go in with her because thats p**** shit. Whatsamatta ya wife cant cook or sumthin? My wife cooks! Baddabingbaddaboom fugazi moolinyahm gabbaghoul mootsuhrell prahshoot galamod rihgot. Edit: draw(er), aks, i sez

Don’t forget about what their son, DeAngelo Bailey, did to Eminem
7
KittyInspector3217 Apr 1, 2026 +7
Holy shit, totally forgot about that! Deangelo Bailey was that fat 8th grader who was always acting obnoxious because he father boxes shoving smaller kids into the lockers. I remember reading about in newsday. IIRC he banged his head against the urinal until he broke his nose and grabbed him by his neck and choked his throat. I remember it being a pretty big deal. Think he threatened to kill him and the principal even came in and helped stomp him. Gave him brain damage around 1999

He's talked about an imaginary family he calls "the Baileys" that he consults when he makes decisions and he considers them to be representative of his constituents... they've voted for Trump at least twice after voting for Reagan (I have not been keeping up since the John Oliver segment, honestly, it's more likely 3 times). He has a whole elaborate backstory for them and everything. I must reiterate these are *imaginary, Republican voters*. Chuck Schumer makes policy decisions based on what he thinks not-real people who haven't voted for a Democrat since Clinton would want him to do. https://youtu.be/dijMKwZMU2Q?si=_Tvpkt5b5yBALbew Relevant John Oliver segment

It’s really not that strange for organizations to come up with “personas” of their target audience, sometimes even with names. It’s a technique to help put a face to what is an otherwise nebulous conglomeration of thousands/millions of people. For example, at my previous job at a biotech company, we had three personas that represented first-time users, advanced users, and administrators who would use our product. We had little clip art representations of them and everything, and would regularly use them in presentations. **What is strange, though**, is to talk about those personas with people outside of your internal team. It’s really truly bizarre to imply that they are real people, in the way Schumer does. It’s totally crazy to base your political career on only one specific persona, and to choose the one persona that is ideologically positioned on the other end of the spectrum from you.

Chuck Schumer has OPENLY said his job is to help Israel. Israel is quite happy with Donald Trump and the Republicans not only allowing them to, but helping them to attack Iran. Chuck Schumer is the minority leader of the the democrats. So, what could Chuck Schumer do that could POSSIBLY "help" Israel? I mean, people get so mad when you say 'both sides' but lets just follow the f****** logic here and go: 2+2=?
43

11
Vio_ Mar 31, 2026 +28
He has the Republicans dead to rights last fall. Like even the public was all for him to just follow through. Then the man caved harder than an 1800s Welsh mine collapse. Literally over night. Got NOTHING in return. The GOP couldn't have a person working for them harder.
28
BritTheBret Mar 31, 2026 +6
😉 Your words inspired me. He seems to let me (us?) down every time. Every time. I bet a $40 a mathamagician would say it probabilistically must be on purpose. If we could go back and could flip a coin for each decision he makes we would be better satisfied.
6
Baby_Fark Apr 1, 2026 +65
He is a Zionist pig and a fascist collaborator. We need to be rid of this shit from our party immediately. There is NOTHING left wing about these type of Democrats. They represent NOTHING but Israel and capital.

Perfectly put! No notes!
11
alldabooty Apr 1, 2026 +8
I'm genuinely baffled where he gets this confidence from when every single one of his decisions on how to defeat trump has failed spectaculary every single time  Chuck is using an old playbook that hasn't worked in years because the core idea of that book is all about desperately trying to avoid the democrats being blamed, which has actually had the opposite effect, at this point they have had numerous opprotunities to stop him so the blood of pretti good and all the other victims is on his hands just as much as its on the Republicans. Most likely its probably because he doesn't want to admit is obsolete and has no idea how to handle this.

3
Skieth9 Apr 1, 2026 +3
He's fine during "peace time" when the GOP and the DNC are playing nice and the worst they get is one calling the other gay/racist occasionally. But that's all he is, a warm body to hold the seat and not rock the boat. He's completely useless in these moments of genuine political and governing crises

Take Israel out of the equation entirely and Chuckles would still hate and fight against any hint of real progress because it hurts his corporate donors and they’re his only real constituents.
108
digihippie Apr 1, 2026 +22
Corporate donors are every politician’s real constituents since the Citizens United decision.
22
ameliatatesosis Apr 1, 2026 +3
Fun fact: it was just as bad before Citizens United, it was just slightly more hidden. Look at the gifts they give to supreme court justices. American democracy is irreversibly corrupt.

At this point, barring some Republican fuckery, the Democrats are going to win the midterms, and potentially 2028, but only in the vein of Keir Starmer, by which point it would mean we get someone even worse in 2032 from the GOP.
179
RimboTheRebbiter Mar 31, 2026 +118
100% accurate assessment, which is why the 2026 and 2028 primaries are so important. I think a Democratic sweep in those two years is essentially a given, but if we just get more of the same sclerotic do nothing dorks that define the Democratic party writ large then an even worse GOP takeover is waiting. Great comparison to Starmer's Labor.
118
purplecatchap Mar 31, 2026 +33
And just like Keir Starmer and that cohort of the Labour party they will convince themselves they won because people wanted to vote form them, instead of it being people voting against the tories (or the republican in this case). Let’s hope you lot at least realise this after the fact as our lot are still kidding themselves they are right. Although, truthfully given the specifics of this topic I wouldn’t hold my breath.
33
Pretty-Balance-Sheet Mar 31, 2026 +17
That's been Schumer's entire strategy with Trump. Not to be better, just to be less bad. I honestly doubt he cares if he or the party are popular so long as he keeps the money flowing to Israel.
17
steepleton Mar 31, 2026 +32
Entirely, biden was already a president dedicated to treading water, not rocking the boat, and nothing more, and it absolutely paved the way for trump 2
32
PypeDwnNRelax Mar 31, 2026 +28
This is the same level of confidence people had in the last presidential election. You are underestimating the level of frustration with this same approach democrats are deploying. If it is going to be more of the same candidates like chucky boy is planning, don’t be surprised if people don’t show up to vote. Not saying it will happen but the probability is higher. The “they are worse than us” approach is what they are banking on, again. It will not work. If they don’t put policy changing candidates on the ballot, they risk losing.
28
jayfeather31 Mar 31, 2026 +14
I actually don't have that much confidence, to be honest, and I do see your point.
14
Kashkow Apr 1, 2026 +2
I would strongly argue that Starmer isn't unpopular because he isn't left wing enough. He's unpopular because he has limited vision for the country, flip flops on unpopular positions, and has spent two years unable to govern effectively without raising taxes which he ruled out in his manifesto.
2
TimothyMimeslayer Mar 31, 2026 +3
Why would they change? We are all gonna vote for them anyway, they have no incentive.
3
Swimming-Bend9684 Mar 31, 2026 +107
I hate Chuck as much as the next guy but this article is just regurgitating old news about him getting Janet Millis to run against Platner. Why are they suddenly writing about this now as if it's new?  Edit: This news site literally just copy and pasted a news article from AP (they wrote yesterday)...

>Chuck Schumer's plan to run elderly moderates in must-win races No. Though he has institutional knowledge and was a passing tactician, it is time for Chuck to look for a back bench for the remainder of his term. Maybe him getting pushed aside is the impetus the Democrats need. It would not be the first time Senator Schumer has taken one for the team.

JeffSteinMusic Mar 31, 2026 +15
It’s neat how, because the country has quite a diverse range of people in the non-GOP/MAGA column, Democrats are automatically in “disarray” when it comes to fielding candidates across that diverse range. Like, I’m not in favor of elderly or moderate candidates and I’m less and less a fan of Chuck Schumer over the past few years, but it’s quite literally an unavoidable narrative no matter what Democrats do as a party. There are zero scenarios where everyone’s happy with every candidate in the field, whereas in the GOP the candidate most agree on in 95% of districts is the candidate who straddles Trump the hardest.
15
steepleton Mar 31, 2026 +12
The pattern people are seeing is gop presidents wrench things to the right, democrat presidents just tread water for four years, then gop gets in again and wrenches things further right. The gop gets it’s agenda done, the democrats just provide a brief breathing space It’s not exactly motivational
12
Gumichi Apr 1, 2026 +2
knocking over dominoes is easy and exciting. cleaning up and setting up are both long, tedious and boring tasks. "treading water" is pretty apt. it's like we're fighting over using the backstroke or the butterfly. the obvious bigger problem is the 77 million Maga who are dragging us underwater.

Losing just doesn't make a difference to him so there's really nothing to learn. He will be rich either way. It's really depraved and sick. He doesn't do the full Lord Farquaad "Some of you may die" schtick like Trump, but it's implicit.
14
Pretty-Balance-Sheet Mar 31, 2026 +9
Saw a post on Listnook recently that said "no one is trying to solve anything anymore, they're just trying to get rich enough that the problems won't affect them." That's Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and most of the rest of Congress.
9
Floreat_democratia Apr 1, 2026 +3
Nailed it, my dude. They literally don't care if they win or lose, as they get to milk it either way. A poster a while back argued that they are in a much better position losing as they don't have to produce results or govern and can devote more time to fundraising and playing kayfabe.

I don't know why the Democrats have such a hard time with this, they have always done their best when they have skewed young. Clinton in '92, Obama in '88, Carter in 1976, Kennedy in 1960, all candidates in their 40s.

Chuck Schumer was funded by the same mafia members that funded Donald Trump’s businesses in the 90’s. This is not hyperbole. There are news articles about his mob donations. He’s also related to Amy Schumer which should automatically make him ineligible for public office.
6
jrob321 Apr 1, 2026 +5
The Democratic party needs a massive "all at once, we're finally cleaning house" overhaul. The American public is tired of the "lesser of two evils, Republican Lite" party being the only viable alternative with which to turn regarding where their vote should be counted. Afaic nobody over 55 should remain. If you want to breathe new life into the way this country is governed, you need to make way for new ideas and new perspectives. You won't get that from politicians who have been firmly entrenched in government for decades now. The party must commit to constant turnover and a desire to pass the torch to those up and coming members. The days of Diane Feinstein. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and their colleagues who have overstayed their welcome needs to end.
5

Chuckles is actively trying to lose elections. Dude's Bibi's bottom b**** and proud of it, and Bibi prefers the Great Old Pedos.

2
tulip-quartz Apr 1, 2026 +2
Chuck Schumer is just a Republican in blue clothes
2
snuuginz Apr 1, 2026 +2
Can you imagine the dilemma Schumer is going through right now? It's gotta be really tough to choose between the American people that it's your actual job to protect and all that Israeli lobbying money.
2
Zlifbar Apr 1, 2026 +2
But folks, THIS TIME it’ll work. Seriously what could possibly go wrong?
2
veek61 Apr 1, 2026 +2
Chuck better get his shit together and hear the people.
2
Triggerunhappy Apr 1, 2026 +2
Why not 8th is a charm It’s gotta work this time right? Come on guys we are the kind corporate owned politicians

If Democrats can't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory America might actually be a decent place.
2
mondo_rayboy Apr 1, 2026 +2
Get rid of him and replace him with AOC. She won't be president, but she can be just as effective as head of the Dem party!
2
Cirque14505 Apr 1, 2026 +2
Time to step aside and go retire in Israel, Chuck.
2
mandiblesofdoom Apr 1, 2026 +2
So pumped for elderly moderates. LFG!!!
2
maeryclarity Apr 1, 2026 +2
NO no more surrender Dems we will disband the country if they refuse to stop being controlled opposition.
2
OkCommunication347 Apr 1, 2026 +2
Shumer doesn’t ultimately pick the candidates, primary voters do. You wanna get your kind of Dem candidate elected, then take the time to VOTE in primaries and tell your friends to. Otherwise all this railing at Shumer is useless.
2
Stillwater-Scorp1381 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I wish NY would send Schumer packing. He’s ineffective and not the right person for the job.
1
moofthedog Apr 1, 2026 +1
Cuck Schumer out here doing his best to make sure Democrats lose every single time

How did the children of the people who fought in WWII become a bunch of evil, cretinous fucks who will literally watch the world burn if it means they stay in power?

If Chuck stays you can guarantee Republicans will win the war in the end.

Wheel every politician over 60 to the unemployment line. Wheel every politician over 70 into retirement homes. Wheel every politician over 80 into hospice care. Put the rest on notice that they're going to get primaried.
5
Aggressive-Will-4500 Mar 31, 2026 +6
That's what we need. More old politicians dying in office and possibly losing a seat in between election cycles. BRILLIANT strategy, Chuckie.
6
RadicalOrganizer Mar 31, 2026 +7
when an old man dedicates more time to moderates and isreal than actually listening to the people who hes supposed to represent...this is the outcome. We need to get rid of every single AIPAC congress person and every single Status Quo moderate
7
No-Bicycle-7660 Mar 31, 2026 +4
Please stop calling them moderates. They're conservative zionists.
4
Hrekires Mar 31, 2026 +2
Is this "clash" happening anywhere other than Maine? Feels like the DSCC got the candidates they wanted in all of the other high profile primaries. Who knows if they'll win or not, but hard to argue there were better alternatives to people like Roy Cooper or Mary Peltola in states where Dems start as underdogs.
2
protomex Apr 1, 2026 +6
F*** you Schumer, we’re not here for Israel. I’m in no way maga, but America first. Education, healthcare, infrastructure, then maybe.
6
YF422 Mar 31, 2026 +3
One thing to remember is that even if the likes of Chuck back "Establishment" candidates its party members who decide who the final candidate is. Get involved in the primary process, get the progressive, motivated and determined candidates through and keep pushing back against a tone dead leadership until they get it through their heads their approach is wrong and outdated and they should read the room and get out of the way. The regressive fascist rot that is the Republican Party cannot be dealt with anything less than scorched earth tactics.
3
holyoak Mar 31, 2026 +2
Chuck Schumer is actively hurting his own party for years now. How bad does it have to get before we demand his removal as Minority Leader?
2
citizenjones Mar 31, 2026 +3
Chuck owes more to foreign lobbies and imaginary suburban couples. Everyone else seems to have more political sway than the American people. It's almost like Americans don't elect their representatives, they're simply advertised and placed.
3
Morallta Mar 31, 2026 +4
His sole contribution to left efforts will be to kneecap them before they can take off. He needs to go. Now.
4
turb0_encapsulator Apr 1, 2026 +1
Chuck Schumer is basically a Republican at this point.
1
Skieth9 Apr 1, 2026 +4
Like RGB, Schumer and the old guard are holding onto power purely out of pride. There's no ideological bent (aside from maybe the Israel shit) beyond "we're the top of the totem pole, we'll hold onto this shit literally until we die because f*** you it's still my turn"
4
trash-juice Apr 1, 2026 +3
What happened at the 1968 dem convention? Those folks didnt want change when the the youth vote brought it with them, seems very similar. Check that near history folks, 1968 Dem Convention same energy
3
Azmordean Apr 1, 2026 +3
I mean, Listnook skews very left wing. I’m a moderate. I’m pro Israel (though not pro Netanyahu). I’m left on healthcare, fairly left on environment, fairly right on guns. I’m very anti Trump. Much to the chagrin of the progressive far left, There’s a whole lot of people like me. I would like to see younger candidates though, that is for sure!
3
Verum_Orbis Apr 1, 2026 +4
This is called "controlled opposition". They'd rather let fascism win than allow people to choose if they want to support the cult of Zionism.
4
Chaemyerelis Apr 1, 2026 +4
Schumer only cars about isreal. Hes said it himself, his job is to keep dems pro isreal
4
Working-Selection528 Apr 1, 2026 +3
He needs to f****** go. He doesn’t want to run people who are progressive and younger than 90, because that would piss off the billionaires bankrolling the Democratic Party. F*** Schumer.
3
figment1979 Apr 1, 2026 +3
I literally said this to my wife last night. I don't care about Graham Platner's nazi tattoos from when he was young and stupid, or the things he said (whether he believed them or not), or his other baggage. We just DON'T need an almost-80-year old Janet Mills in our Senate seat. We need anyone but Susan Collins returning there. I'm literally voting for anyone else but those two, so Graham Platner it is. And as I said in a comment in a different thread, I don't even care who endorses who. When's the last time endorsing someone has actually mattered? 10/20/30+ years ago? I'm not waiting to vote for someone based on who endorsed them, and while I overall don't mind Janet Mills as our governor (save for what I'd call some "questionable" decisions), I'm not basing my opinion of her on whether or not she decides to endorse Platner or not after the primary.

2

Am I the only one who think it's cray-cray that the Dem leader in the Senate is a guy who's consistently used imaginary Republicans as his lodestone?
3
Vegetable-Error-2068 Mar 31, 2026 +3
We are trapped in the Democratic Party's ongoing Vietnam PTSD flashbacks of its loss to Reagan. Today's Democrats are more right wing than Reagan was, and they would rather lose and shut out people who want to actually do good than rock the boat. They don't deserve your money or your vote until the party is unmade and remade into an actual pro-labor party that isn't afraid to wield power to do good.

Here’s a fancy idea, if you live in a state with dems, apply pressure. Make it known to them that you don’t like Chucks leaderships. If you live in New York apply pressure to him directly. He cant do more damage if you remove him. Youre not gonna enact political change with a snarky listnook post about him being an isreal simp.

Juonmydog Apr 1, 2026 +2
The establishment is bucking change because it means that wealth redistribution will be utilized. Then the party runs smear campaigns and "moderate" candidates to siphon support from the "more radical" flank, thus ratcheting yhe entire country to the right. The DNC has tried being "safe" and "electable" 3 election cycles in a row only to lose 2 of those times to the greater evil. They have moved to capture moderates each election, and disinfranchised their voterbase in the process because of it. It acts in direct opposition to workers because it would upset their wealthy donors and constituents to pass legislation or action that empowers all Americans. They know they're the only "viable" option, so they produce the bare minimum to oppose the actions of the GOP because they know they will already be granted votes. Then, when people criticise the actions of the DNC and it's affiliated members, party loyalists spring into action to defend the machine at all costs. They tell us to make our own party if we suggest ideas that expand liberties and opportunities to all. They say we directly aid the GOP when we make moral ultimatums that put the value of human life above profit. They personally attack people even when they make nuanced policy suggestions or analysis. If anything, it seems like the only "purity tests" going on are that of keeping things the way they are and never addressing the festering problems that gave us Trump in the first place. Since the beginning of Trump's second term, the Democrats have conceeded to the demands of republicans multiple times. Not only did they confirm very consequential appointments, but they have helped pass legislation that objectively makes life worse in America. They have no vision to stop the descent into authoritarianism, let alone a vision for the future. They refuse to take chances because they want to preserve personal privileges. We have to demand our represenation from them, because they are too comfortable now treating us like numbers instead of people. It's either act as a mechanism to unite the working class or the Democratic Party becomes a relic of history. Maybe there's a reason it's collapsing and we need to take it into consideration when rescuing democracy from the clutches of fascism in America.

It’s insane. The country was begging for change in 2024 and they voted for change. The change was letting a villain take over but it was change. In 2026 there is another desire for change. Democrats have an opportunity to fix their strategy but nope let’s run with a group who in any other industry would be long retired.
