Surely all the fiscal conservatives that supported Trump are getting tired of all this?

They are like Bigfoot, often hear stories, never see them in real life.

So where did the 219 million go?

Those hats can cost thousands. And she had a particularly big one.

Sober_Alcoholic_ Mar 24, 2026 +1
Custom made and whoever made it likely charged an outrageous price since captain dipshit was running around with a blank check and a purse full of Molly. Fucks sake. “Charge me a million for this hat, cash the check, you keep 20%” On to the next one.

Most of the budget went on that. I cant tell from her face.

Yeah, the math isn't mathing. Company A gets $220M to create ads. Company B gets paid $300k to actually make ads. I guess they paid some money for networks to air the ads, but $219.7M?

Spent $200M+ on a $250K ad? Holy f***

I will put money on the fact she has nicked a bunch of that money. Follow her money trails.
1
witchofpain Mar 24, 2026 +1
Didn’t she pay a bunch to a company that was 8!days old with no website or phone? That money news stolen. By her with kick backs to her boss. Guarantee it.
1
JustAskingSoSTFU Mar 23, 2026 +43
so less than 300K to make the adds, where is the other 219,700,000 dollars?
43
Mindless_Listen7622 Mar 24, 2026 +1
Well, first you create the ad, then you pay distribution networks like TV, radio, Facebook, YouTube channels and so on to play the ads. It would be interesting to see who they paid to run these.
1
thisusedyet Mar 24, 2026 +1
The other 219,000,000 was consulting fees to one Meon Itsirk

Guillermo del Toro's 2025 movie Frankenstein had a total production budget of $120 million. How the f*** can a blockbuster Hollywood feature cost less to produce than these shitty commercials? (it's a rhetorical question - I'm aware of the graft)

HereForTheComments57 Mar 23, 2026 +22
Someone else in a different thread said avengers had a 220 million budget for comparison
22
thisusedyet Mar 24, 2026 +1
All Guillermo del Toro had to do was make a foundational sci-fi/horror story interesting - Noem had to make ICE look good coward’s /s
1
Burdiac Mar 24, 2026 +1
You know how they said in the movie THe Mask that Jim Carey’s ability to contort his face and express saved the film millions of dollars? It’s like the exact opposite of that. The practical and cgi used to make Noems face move was like millions per second
1
andyraylan Mar 23, 2026 +10
I thought Trump said that he would eliminate wasteful spending.
10
Nerd-19958 Mar 23, 2026 +8
Trump was referring to "wasteful" spending on the poor and needy. Grifting by his tribe is not "wasteful."
8
andyraylan Mar 23, 2026 +2
Good point.

FinsterFolly Mar 23, 2026 +1
When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a ballroom on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp.

Confettireadi Mar 23, 2026 +24
I do love the fact that we can see her hands and neck. Her age is showing. I’m not one for calling people out, but if the president can do it, so should we.
24
Nerd-19958 Mar 23, 2026 +14
Noem the dog-and-goat-killer tried to look redneck glamorous, big wigs, heavy makeup, fake eyelashes that could start a hurricane if she blinked too rapidly. So I see no issue with calling our her imperfections.
14
Confettireadi Mar 23, 2026 +4
Well, shoot. Can you do the same for Pam?

EMTDawg Mar 24, 2026 +1
She looks good for a 75 year old grandmother. Unfortunately for her, she is only a 54 year old grandmother.
1
iia Mar 23, 2026 +5
Yeah, no. Him doing something should make you *less* likely to engage in it.
5
Confettireadi Mar 23, 2026 +6
That’s fair.

Empty-Policy-8467 Mar 23, 2026 -1
Honestly I have a tiny spark of sadness for her, as awful as she is. She will never be able to look in a mirror and see the person she was before MAGA poisoned her. The person she was is forever gone. She's still a terrible person responsible for great suffering, and she'll be reminded there is no going back every private moment she has in the morning and at the end of her day. Who she was is gone forever, and she did it to herself.
-1
Sofer2113 Mar 24, 2026 +1
MAGA didn't poison her, it gave her an outlet. This is who she is and was.
1
PhillyPhrenetic502 Mar 23, 2026 +6
I get your point, but everyone in her similar situation was a grownup who made an educated decision. Every one of these sychophants follows the same pattern of assuming they're the one person who is smart/attractive/loyal enough to get loyalty back on Trump's end... And they're all wrong, every single time.
6
Velociraptor_al Mar 24, 2026 +1
Nah, this is the real her. MAGA didn’t change her and make her be this way, it allowed her to be this way and she continues to choose it every day.
1
SpoogeMagoo65 Mar 23, 2026 +44
Noem and Lewandowski are gonna get jail time over this. Those are going to be very unpopular pardons Trump is going to give out. That should be in every campaign video the Democrats make for the next 3 years.
44
Sofer2113 Mar 24, 2026 +1
Under any other DOJ, yes. Under this one, they will ride this out and get past the statute of limitations or get a pardon and never see the inside of a court room.
1
daveashaw Mar 23, 2026 +11
Don't bet on it.

iRegretsEverything Mar 23, 2026 +8
Nothings going to happen. They gonna put on a dog and pony show. She and her cronies are gonna just take the hand slap and keep the money, like every other case like this.
8
drewts86 Mar 24, 2026 +1
> Nothings going to happen. Agreed. Dems lost traction n pushing for an impeachment after Trump moved her to a new position. Impeaching her could have prevented her from ever holding office again.
1
MrBaseball1994 Mar 23, 2026 +8
Boy, she loved having that Homeland Security Agency credit card, right?
8
pieguy00 Mar 23, 2026 +5
So it cost 250k to make the ad but the government gave the company 220 million?
5

Well Kristi had terrible math skills sooo....
1

$286k in filming costs. $200M contract. The filming cost is basically a rounding error. That’s $199.7M directly into someone’s pocket.
1
AcanthisittaNo6653 Mar 24, 2026 +1
So DHS gave a company $143M to produce a set of commercials for $226K? Where did the rest of the money for this "no-bid" contract go?
1
OkSir7411 Mar 24, 2026 +1
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that this was just an embezzlement scheme… giving money to politically connected individuals.
1
Nerd-19958 Mar 24, 2026 +1
This was known months ago but didn't get the media attention it should have received at the time -- snowflakes in a blizzard, one might say. The link below from ProPublica is dated Nov. 14, 2025. [Firm Tied to Kristi Noem Secretly Got Money From $220 Million DHS Ad Contracts](https://www.propublica.org/article/kristi-noem-dhs-ad-campaign-strategy-group)

questionname Mar 23, 2026 +7
Terrible article that doesn’t talk about where $220M went
7
Melcher Mar 23, 2026 +11
It does. 226k went towards the production of commercials, horse rentals, and labor 219.774m went into her pocket.
11
CelticSith Mar 23, 2026 +1
As much as I dislike the TSA, I hope every worker there is paying close attention to all this. You work, you get paid.

chimpanzeebutt Mar 23, 2026 +3
Draining the swamp. /s
3
MerLock Mar 24, 2026 +1
This is what happens where there is no accountability and the government treats our tax player money as "play money."
1
commonsense1954 Mar 24, 2026 +1
I guarantee you that federal procurement regulations were not followed by anyone at DHS. Trump fired all the inspector generals at the federal agencies so that this corruption could proceed unchecked. So much for draining the swamp.
1
ryebrye Mar 24, 2026 +1
Project Hail Mary cost $200 million - so $20 million less than that Horse ad
1
climb-it-ographer Mar 23, 2026 +9
$226k to produce a high-quality ad is not completely outrageous, on its own. The $4,000 hair & makeup budget that is mentioned is pretty reasonable in the context of $53,000 of production costs. Camera rental, grip, transportation, labor, insurance, catering, lodging, etc. eat up a lot of money for even a fairly basic shoot. If you were to go ask Wieden+Kennedy to produce a national TV spot for you it would be in that ballpark for sure. Obviously the fact that it was produced at all, produced by an inner-circle group of political contacts, and the millions spent on ad placements is total fraud and abuse of power, but the ad itself isn't totally crazy.

jrsinhbca Mar 23, 2026 +5
$60 Million for a signing bonus!!! The grift is surreal.
5
MayorOfBluthton Mar 23, 2026 +2
$60,000 Which is still absurd and completely inappropriate for a job that was a few hundred grand total.
