DeSantis attacks elections, signing Florida version of SAVE Act into law
In rambling remarks after the signing, DeSantis called into question the results of the 2020 presidential election, which President Donald Trump is attempting to relitigate, and sounded many of the same notes as election deniers who back the president’s attacks on free and fair elections.

So he believes elections held under his watch were not secure. Interesting.

DeSantis has no relevance and no political future. His entire existence is trying to make other people unhappy. What a miserable way to live.

He is delusional in that he has presidential aspirations. He likes to make noise every couple of years to get his name in headlines and shakedown some campaign funding.

I find it hilarious the Guardians of Pedophiles is choosing the SAVE Act as their current  hill  to die on legislation when it will end up hurting their supports the most.  It makes me wonder what else is buried in the bill no one has figured out yet.

you are assuming strategic planning and at this point I'm going to need to see some evidence before I go along with that premise

I don't think it will hurt the Republicans the most, at least in the short-term. And, we have two examples to look back on. The first was 2016 in Wisconsin. They created a law later deemed unconstitutional where you needed state issued valid ID to vote. This ended up hurting out-of-state students because their student cards were no longer eligible to be used and their driver's licenses are issued by another state. And, it hurt poor people who tend to live in cities and don't drive so they don't have a valid license. Both of these groups tend to vote Democrat and there are analysis that say the state was stolen from Clinton because of this law. The second was 2013 in Kansas. They also crated a law later deemed unconstitutional where you needed proof of citizenship in order to register to vote. But, if you were already registered it didn't affect you. So, this ended up affecting young people the most and young people still tend to lean towards Democrats. But ultimately I think the law is more about the national voter database it creates and what nefarious uses the tech-bros will have for it than it is about putting their hands on the scale of an election.

This is the same guy who tried to censor a political ad he didn’t like and banned African American history, Republicans are proud fascists who can’t win unless they disenfranchise voters.

Yeah. But older, rural republicans are most likely to vote by mail. So, this omly hurts Republicans in the long run.

Good old Florida, I sympathize for the people that didn't vote for this goon.

I was there in 2008. Had to vote in person, 3 hours in line. Voting in South Florida was already hard.

It's not mentioned anywhere here that this law doesn't take effect until next year
