Not a good omen to Quinn...

Exactly. I saw this and was like “oh Quinn is cooked isn’t he”
43
bjones214 3 days ago +35
I refuse to believe this series will just have an original show character death every season. It’s too cliche and predictable

FettuccineAlfonzo 3 days ago +20
Let’s get Quinn to recruit Dexter back to Miami metro for season 3
20
Hot-Trip5736 3 days ago +9
I mean if Quinn dies it’s really only Masuka left and I’d rather not watch Masuka die
9
Locke66 3 days ago +12
I think Quinn will show up to investigate what happened with Batista but then completely take what happened at face value after talking to the New York police. My guess is he will somehow end up teaming up with Dexter to hunt down the New York Butcher after he's present when one of the two girls that Harrison was seeing gets murdered.
12
Singer211 2 days ago +13
Or Quinn figures it out and decides to keep it to himself. Quinn already knows Dexter has a darker side. And Quinn seems like he’d be more willing to just walk away than Batista was.

Cant wait for Masuka to be a series regular in season 3!

RealJohnGillman 3 days ago +122
> “I refuse to believe Vince Masuka is the man who single-handedly brings me down.” It would certainly be something if this Season One line ended up foreshadowing the ending of *Resurrection*.

Jeffffff4587 3 days ago +45
Masuka catches Dex through autoerotic mummification.
45
brimur123 3 days ago +21
Hit him with one final giggle as Dexter gets the chair
21
RealJohnGillman 3 days ago +3
That being said, I would not mind if they had Dexter’s ultimate fate parallel that of [the ‘real-life Dexter’](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedro_Rodrigues_Filho), since he (the real fellow) died in-between *New Blood* and *Resurrection*.

Maybe they could bring back Lumen(Julia Stiles)?

I hope our expectations will be subverted when Masuka makes his way up in s3 only to tell Dexter how much he really admires his passion for justice. Vince does not try to help, he only encourages and provides snacks for all times Dexter supplied donuts. No need to die since he doesn't even care to impede the process.
43
JamStan1978 3 days ago +22
Masuka would support dexters o******* but thats it
22
nicknack24 3 days ago +6
I could see Masuka being Dexter's "guy in the chair" if the show continues to do the vague superhero allusions.
6
phazeiserotic 2 days ago +5
Hey dex they are behind you, *masuka laugh* huhuhuhuhuhu
5
PoppySeeds89 3 days ago +42
Dexter kills off the entire original cast one season at a time.
42
SweRakii 2 days ago +1
Masuka dies in a dungeon
1
PoppySeeds89 1 day ago +1
But that one has nothing to do with Dexter.

SPOILERS: I really hope they have a different arc for him instead of the same ones they gave Doakes, Laguerta, and Batista Doakes suspects Dexter and ends up dead. Laguerta finds Doakes’ death suspicious and pursues Dexter and ends up dead. Batista finds Laguerta’s death suspicious and pursues Dexter and ends up dead. Is Quinn seriously gonna do the same thing? It’s kinda depressing at this point
26
megamanz7777 3 days ago +18
What's funny is Quinn was *also already* suspicious of Dexter back in season 5, and started a side-investigation into him just like those others. Quinn's the GOAT though, because he was maybe the only person in the entire show to become suspicious of Dexter but then basically just give up and say "this ain't worth it", while the others all kept pursuing Dexter until it killed them...

Mattyzooks 3 days ago +8
Maybe Quinn blackmails him?
8
OregonBetrayal 3 days ago +4
I always thought that’d be a great S5.
4
richardroe77 2 days ago +2
But it feels like those sorta plotlines always end with the blackmailer pushing things too far and ending getting offed anyway?
2
OregonBetrayal 2 days ago +1
Yeah, I always thought it’d be good for Quinn to have a dead man’s switch, where all his evidence goes to the cops if he’s taken out and then it’s his Deb finds out.
1
JamStan1978 3 days ago +49
Im genuinely so happy that they are bringing characters back but please do something more interesting than just to kill them.
49
Mattyzooks 3 days ago +55
While I'm sad Batista died, it was a pretty great arc.
55
ConstantDrawer9161 3 days ago +20
At the beginning? Yes. At the end? Batista behaved like the greatest idiot in the history of mankind.
20
FX114 3 days ago +30
Batista has always acted like an idiot.
30
Ice_Cold345 3 days ago +31
He's always acted with La Pasión.
31

He should've just stayed retired and collected his La Pensión
9
Altruistic-Body9300 3 days ago +12
Its consistent with his character though
12
JamStan1978 3 days ago +7
Batista has always let emotion get in the way. He doesnt think properly when hes emotional so its totally in character for him to be like that at the end.
7
Accomplished-City484 2 days ago +3
The performance was pretty good though
3
BooshAC 3 days ago +68
Quinn somehow bottling the Kyle Butler lead in Season 5 was one of the dumber things a cop did in this show, and that’s saying a lot.
68
Mattyzooks 3 days ago +64
I feel like Quinn as a character was proven over and over again to be a terrible cop who does have good hunches though. I mean, he steals money from crime scenes. He had it out for Dexter being a criminal until Dexter did him a solid and then decides he's fine with not knowing what is wrong with Dex, even excusing Dexter's clear murder on camera of the Tooth Fairy.
64
radda 3 days ago +14
His inclination to forgive the things he knows about Dex and his love of Deb conflicting with him being f****** pissed about Angel is going to be interesting.
14
NoExcuse4OceanRudnes 3 days ago +16
That's how it should be. For a show that could have easily been "We need a hero to take these criminals off the streets because the blah blah blah not hard on crime" (though I'm sure sometimes he is catching people let off by leniency and technicalities, he does kill a *lot* of people) Dexter shows that he's necessary because cops are corrupt and incompetent first and foremost.
16
aa22hhhh 3 days ago +6
> even excusing Dexter's clear murder on camera of the Tooth Fairy. Don’t you mean the Brain Surgeon? Tooth Fairy was a separate kill.
6
Mattyzooks 3 days ago +2
Yep. Mixed them up. And I was probably honestly thinking of how they called the 'Red Dragon' killer the 'Tooth Fairy' in Red Dragon/Hannibal the show.
2
Accomplished-City484 2 days ago +2
Do you see?
2
Lionelchesterfield 3 days ago +3
Bautista also excused Dexter for that though because of Deb.
3
Funmachine 3 days ago +16
Quinn knew Dexter killed Liddy and destroyed evidence to help him.
16
seceralnof 3 days ago +7
He figured out that whenever Dexter gets investigated, they end up dead. In season 7 finale, when LaGuerta briefly arrests Dexter, Quinn is quietly panicking in the background of the scene. At 36 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icIeSIeBU_c

Vadermaulkylo 3 days ago +3
You greatly underestimate how dumb many cops are.

oh he gunna diiiiiiie still, Quinn is a great character. They did the right thing here. "**What** happened to Batista?? I'll be right up." They can't *not* bring him in on the next season.

Plus Quinn is no saint in his own right. He's got a long list of issues and a history of corruption.

Hope he survives because he was hilarious on the main series.

Love Quinn, he seemed off last season in the few scenes he was in though.

notthatbluestuff 3 days ago +8
I wish they would stop finding ways to get the old Miami Metro gang involved. Leave the past in the past. Who’s next? Chief Matthews? Batista’s sister? Harrison’s arch nemesis the Treadmill?
8
JamStan1978 3 days ago +11
I mean Batista died, maybe he just goes to NY to see what happens and finds out Dexter is really alive. It doesnt automatically mean that hes going to do the same thing as batista and go after him.
11
notthatbluestuff 3 days ago -3
I didn’t say he’d do the same thing as Batista, only that I’m tired of the OG characters popping up.
-3
JamStan1978 3 days ago +5
Why? I feel like bringing back old characters is good. As long as they find something good for them to do.
5
richardroe77 2 days ago +1
If anything don't a lot of fans wish that they'd find some flimsy excuse to get Dexter back in Miami again? Those location shots were half the reason I enjoyed Original Sin so much.
1
Mattyzooks 3 days ago +2
They were righting a wrong by not having him being exposed as a killer in the original show. He made these people look like f****** idiots, I'm glad they're following up on it. It should've been season 8 of the original show.

I guess this sets up a Season 3 for Masuka to come to town to investigate the death of his friend who came to town to investigate the death of their other friend but who's going to investigate Masuka's death? Are there any characters from the original series that are still alive after all that?
2

Please don't die.

Really glad to have him back full time. Even if it does mean Quinn will inevitably bite the dust.
2
Stamperdoodle1 3 days ago +3
I loved resurrection, but I'm sad batista is gone - I really hope this show isn't just boiling down to Dexter offing all the original characters one by one each season because, while I don't hate the new cast - I also don't like them as much as the originals... maybe that's rose tinted goggles but still, sucks to see.

Wowwwwww I love Joey so I am excited although I worry the character is doing unwell
1
Cha0tic_Engine 3 days ago +1
Well, he gonna get killed. But I'm still kind of happy that they're using the old team mates. I got happy feelings in me just seeing Batista, even if we all knew how it would end up. So I'll have the same for Quinn, and then he dies. I gotta say though, I rather hoped that Dexter would've been the one to kill Batista and not have it be just some random shooting. It would've brought more weight into Dexter having guilt about it. As much as his kind of person could have.

wrathmont 3 days ago +1
Who would have thought Quinn of all characters would be one of the last survivors of the OG show?
1
Own_Wafer_7036 3 days ago +1
Lmao. Are they gonna roll out Geoff Pierson to look into things and die in season 4?
1
ArmyOfChester 2 days ago +1
In the classic Dexter tradition of killing off a character only to replace that character immediately the next season so nothing has to change

You have to watch New Blood to understand Resurrection. New Blood is ok, you’ll get through it fine. Resurrection was great, so it’s worth it.

This season is set 4 years later so I’m hoping they are not doing a retread of Batista in season 1

Walt drove a 201X car when the Breaking Bad's whole series happened in 2007-9.
3
radda 3 days ago +2
4 years seems like a long time for Dex to just leave the Ripper alone. It's more likely that was the real car's registration and it won't be visible in the show.
2
SuicideSkwad 2 days ago +1
They made a point to change it to 22 in season 1 though so seems like a bit of an oversight if so
1
gregandrews 3 days ago -2
I hope they write him being a poor cop in the original show into this and how 10, 15 years on the job have changed him and made him better. It would be good to be able to take Quinn seriously.
