My first reaction was "Are they actually going on hunger strikes, or is ICE just not feeding them to pocket the money and reporting it as one?" ...Because that's where we're at as a country. Anything that can be a grift will be a grift.

This part. They already dont care enough to give decent conditions. Starving yourself doesnt change their minds. In their minds the sooner you die the sooner you arent their problem anymore.

I think that’s what we’re going to find out. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that these places are going to be just like the Nazi death camps in just a few years, as long as the Trump Administration is allowed to rule unimpeded.

Personally I don’t think it accomplishes anything. It’s not like the people who support, ICE detention centres are under the impression that they are humane facilities. The horrible conditions are part of the reason they support these centres.

My immediate suspicion is that the people in these concentration camps are not striking at all - but being starved. I do not believe a single narrative from this government, and too often, our worst suspicions keep proving to be correct.

I hope they can successfully sue for lack of a speedy trial and/or cruel or unusual punishment, things the Constitution forbids. However the RV Court may use inventive interpretation.

I don't think this is going to go the way they think. Hunger strikes only work if the entity imprisoning you believes the negative press of your death will impact them.
