Eh. While the fight scenes are quite well done (as were the visuals in episode 7), they *really* need a better writer for the story.
It falls into the same pitfalls I had with the DmC reboot: It feels like edge for the sake of edge and it doesn't have the heart hidden behind a layer of cheesiness that makes the games' stories so compelling. (And I'm not gonna touch the unfortunate political implications with a ten-foot-replica of the Yamato)
Also Lady is probably one of my favourite characters from the games. Lookit how they massacred my girl! I fear what'll happen if they ever get their hands on Nero. >!That sad, contemplative line delivery about killing one's father in DMC5 is probably gonna be 10x the volume with 20x the foul language.!<

Wish season 1 was more horror/comedy than action/comedy but I enjoyed it enough to continue. Just please less horrible looking cgi demons.

That looks promising. I enjoyed season 1, but it was a mixed bag. Really didn't care for how they handled Lady, along with a handful of other beats, and the show was overall a little sloppy at times. This seems more focused. Fingers crossed.

Never played the games but S1 was one of the coolest shows out the gate I've ever seen. Great music, fights, and storyline - can't wait to binge S2!
edit: fun is illegal nowadays 🫤

Season 1 really sucked and wasn’t what I was expecting. Here’s hoping season 2 is better.
