I think it's a little difficult to do in a show like Dexter. Once he's aware of a killer's identity there's only so many obstacles you can put in his way (whether they're external or self imposed) before it feels like the show is spinning its wheels a bit. We are getting Uma Thurman back though whether she'll remain in an antagonistic role is a bit up in the air.

I wish they let the Gemini story go on longer. That had a lot of juice left and dastmalchian is amazing Edit. I’m complaining too much. This season was pretty fun all in all

I do actually agree there to be honest. When the Gemini twist was revealed I really thought we were going to get a bit more of a cat and mouse between the surviving brother and Dexter. That it was all resolved shortly into the next episode was a bit of a disappointment. Obviously there was a lot to cover and Prater had to take centre stage as main antagonist so I get it. And yeah I had a ton of fun with the season, don't think that small quibble knocked any major points off for me.

They could have done SO much more with the gemini story. It should have been, Gemini 1 kill, then a new gemini murder and Dexter wonders if he killed some imposter or something and the real gemini is still out there. Cat and Mouse before the twin reveal. Could have covered an entire season, honestly.

I think "Monster of the Season" is the best format for this kind of shows. It keeps them fresh and interesting.

they kind of did this with the new york ripper. He didnt appear in season 1 but they kept mentioning him and built the foundation for the story in season 2. I think a season finale without a kill wouldnt feel as satisfying tbh.

My wife and I were talking about how perfect the dynamic between Dexter and doakes was and how great it would have been had it lasted longer. The writing was great tho. Hard to say how to prolong it

A season where they're forced to team up, clearly. I love that dynamic, and the glimpse of it we got when they were taking out the drug dealers was great.

i hope they at least have gigi still there in the beginning but then break up so that it feels more natural but if not it would still be ok. I would just like GIGI to stay around. The writers might have gotten grossed out by the stupid theory that gigi was actually cody that transitioned to female. Yes this is a real theory that even clyde found out about. i have no idea where this idea came from or why but its weird.

Bokeem is so good and Nona is incredibly beautiful i never seen her in anything before yet, I really wonder if Bokeem will be playing another killer or perhaps a cop or detective. I honetly thought the detectives last season were a bit meh. the lady detective was mostly fine she was a bit divisive because some people found her listening to music while checking out crime scenes annoying. I had my doubts last season when it came to Dinklageccasting but he actually killed it in the role, probably his best since his GOT, even if it was a character with crazy depth or anything. He was very good.

This season sounds so much fun just like the first season but in a different way. I hope the two main serial killers are father and son to mirror dexter and harrison. I love how creative it gets. And i hope Harrison can become a cop to help dexter out whenever he can. I honestly hope at this point they never kill or imprison dexter. Just let him continue doing good work with the serial killers the government cant ever catch.
