The ultimate question isn't if there was corruption, it's a question of how much and why wasn't Trump cut in.
Trump doesn't particularly give a damn about immigrants outside of a general hatred of anyone who isn't him. The ICE push has Miller written all over it, and Trump just goes along with it because it keeps the support of racist morons.
The big question is did Miller, Noem et. all NOT cut Trump in on the double dealing? If Trump didn't get his cut, then he'll be more than happy to throw Miller, Noem, Bovino, and the rest under a bus he's personally driving.

The [Orlando](https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2026/02/06/potential-ice-facility-in-orlando-rickrolls-removed-listings-and-a-backlash-as-a-sale-appears-near/) warehouse has a price tag of $99 million. Hasn't been purchased yet.
No permit changes online neither. Not a drop of ink has been signed for that property since an exploratory visit by ICE was reported mid-January of this year, but its been eyed since November of last year for that price so ICE has an entire spreadsheet listing these fuckers with a price tag. Mighty expensive, indeed.
And the funny thing about it is that this is actually their Plan B. Plan A was supposed to use existing jails that would line the pockets of privatized jails and rapidly fill them with immigrants but that plan was unsustainable so they went for this instead.
Now it seems that Secretary Mullin is re-thinking this from a business practicality perspective. He has a background in plumbing/construction and sees a lot of red flags with sites like this one they're built for *industrial* use, not detention.
So even if they purchase a colossal site like that for $99 million, its gonna take millions more, a mountain of manpower and a lot of time lost before the site *comes close* to becoming fully operational. Nevermind that a deal was never signed to begin with so they actually have to sell the damn building to ICE first, but the broker in the linked article is under fire for even considering that transaction so this whole situation makes the prospect of the sale even more discouraging because its looking like the feds are gonna be left holding the bag if TPA Group rushes the sale and DHS won't like that.
The way I see it, its not realistic of them to purchase, re-purpose and operate sites like these by-the-book while enduring public outrage nationwide. And cutting corners by keeping state and local governments in the dark and trying to speedrun these purchases to advance their concept of a plan is only gonna end in disaster for everyone involved.
So f*** ICE.

This is a feature of Fascism and not a bug, as cliche as that is, and why Fascism eventually will eat itself. Trumps style is to put people in a room to basically Galdiator their way to gain favor.
It inherently eats itself thru unsustainable extremism and internal power struggles, ultimately betraying its followers and dismantling the institutions required for its own stability. Based on spectacle, violence, and constant scapegoating, it creates an unsustainable "Armageddon complex" that leads to catastrophic failure.
Scapegoating is a key feature and its always interesting to me that people would seek power from a Fascist leader because the clock is ticking on their demise, but generally these people are really unintelligent and lack any sort of grasp on history.
How many Agency heads this term have been thrown under the bus... not counting Bovino because hes too short to take damage under the bus.

Some refugees and immigrants will have come from places they cant go back to, or will simply refuse to say where they are from - so you don't know where they can go. So you are left with two options: just send them to a random accepting country or "infinite detention".

I live less than a mile away from the old Pep Boys warehouse in Chester, NY which they were trying to push through (and is thankfully being held up by local politicians) as one of their "detention centers". It is MASSIVE. The very thought of a concentration camp in my own backyard is so surrealistically far beyond abhorrently mystifying to me i cannot even comprehend its magnitude.
This entire country should watch the documentary film Night and Fog *Nuit et brouillard* (1956 - dir. Alain Resnais). It dispels the notion, "We had no idea what was happening", and how all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men and women to do nothing.
With each ugly step we take further into this xenophobic, otherizing dehumanization, we lose forever what once made us stand out as that - albeit a somewhat ironic misnomering metaphorical description - Shining City On a Hill.
We cannot let this happen.
History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes...

i know this is gonna be an unpopular opinion but this looks promising. Markwaynre might be an improvement and the regime seems to have recognized the necessity of damage control.

Theyre pissed the money wasn't used for their own enrichment as well as Noem's, any appearance of damage control is just that, the appearance of. Outside of Millers extreme racism the only outrage here is that Noem wasted money by not lining more of the admins pockets.

Interesting development but I’ll trust it as far as I can throw the DHS, where is nowhere. Half the things I’d like looked into are looked into by the people I think need to be looked into. Another administration will have to audit this one for my comfort😅 It’s like those attack helicopters being investigated. The moment Pete was aware, he shut it down and said there was no investigation. Well…there was, it began when the suspension began. Ending it early or completing it is one thing but that’s not what he said happened. He said it never happened to begin with and I say that’s a lie. Another lie.
