Did I miss something or Euphoria S3 has stopped making sense?

Posted by mrbrainturn

Did no one go to college? Why are the characters behaving like someone else entirely. Acting wise everybody is amazing. But I have to be missing something. Can someone make it make sense please.

Consider how they spent their time in high school, it will make even less sense if any of them made it into college.

You’re forgetting that they’re all extremely rich, connected and hot though. That’s way more important than skill.

Not all of them were extremely rich

But they’re connected and hot. And that’s all you really need in life.

But Euphoria’s a pretty realistic show to the average American high school experience, and most American high schoolers go to university. Obviously it doesn’t show them going to class but they definitely did do that.

It’s addressed directly that Maddy didn’t go to college. I think it’s implied that Maud Apatows character did. It wouldn’t really make sense for any of the other characters to have gone to college.

also jules went to art school. maybe OP needs to stop scrolling tiktok while watching this highly intellectual show, maybe he will be able to follow along.

There was a time jump, season 3 is what they did after high school and college, go into the adult world - The characters are starting their adult journey, which 21-23 years old. This is the final season, so they had to jump to them having normal jobs to put a conclusion to the characters.

Hey you try matching your vibe from like 4 years ago it’s hard

It’s a time skip. Everyone who went to college went to college already. They’re doing their various jobs and living their adult lives. What is so hard to get?

Actually… what they said is correct. Even though it sounds weird conversationally, the word “any” can be singular or plural.

It’s a problem of tense not case

Ha, true.

What do you mean “did no one go to college”? It was a 5 year time jump. College is four years, and Lexi’s job makes perfect sense for someone straight out of college

I actually really like the direction of the show. I know that’s not popular to say, but Im looking forward to Sundays now lol

Ngl as much as I wanted to hate it so far, Marshawn Lynch made me laugh with his lines in this past episode. I think he's going to embrace how much of a hot mess it is lol, and I think he'll be a clear highlight of this season

I upvote any Marshawn love. But seriously he just makes me smile. Like when he walks away from the table and starts dancing his way towards that chick. Guy just has too much personality that can’t be contained

Yeah, I am enjoying it. Interested to see what happens and also the reveals of what characters were up to during the skip.

Yeah, realized I didn’t really mean it and was just hoping it would end this. I shouldn’t apologize to someone who has harassed me on every comment I made for days. Thought it was a running joke at first, then felt sorry for you, then realized I am probably encouraging you to continue this behavior.

Not everyone goes to college. With how fucked up the characters are, do they really seem like the type of people who would go to college? They’re different because past seasons they were in high school, now they’re not. Tell me, are you the same person you were in school? Yea, didn’t think so. Edit: Lmao getting downvoted for providing answers to the questions. Typical Listnook.

You see what happened was all the actors were too old in outright gross situations for high schoolers, so they simply aged them up with no growth. It’s TV Magic!

I think the whole season is Rue’s fever dream while dying

I am liking this lucid dream of a wild, maximalist season so far. Just don't take any of it seriously and it makes sense*. Check out some Ken Russell or John Waters films. Or Pearl or Barbarian. If this goes full Idol then I'll tune out. ^* ^what ^doesn't ^make ^sense ^exactly?

It’s no different than real life. Of all the people I knew growing up, like 3 of them actually went to college.

Sonichu- 4 days ago +4
That's really interesting. When/where did you grow up? It's the opposite for me.

Good_old_Marshmallow 4 days ago +2
Statistically, their experience is way more common

Sonichu- 4 days ago +6
Over 60% of US Adults age 25+ have attended college for some period of time (even if they don't complete a degree). So statistically he and I are both outliers.

This season feels like someone made a show that imitates Euphoria.   And I think Sydney Sweeney has actually gotten much much worse at acting over the past few years.

She was so good in the handmaids tale

That was my reaction. It's like when they reskin a videogame to use some other IP, as if Sam Levinson wanted to make a different show about Hollywood influencers and just decided to put the cast of Euphoria into it. It's so bad at times that I think you could have just said it was a new and unrelated show and no one would know. The season sucks. Whatever the show once had they lost. I was willing to give them a pass after the first episode, but the second one was a doozy.

Did you watch season 1 and 2? these are the characters we're stuck with, not future doctors and lawyers in college.

It feels like a weird spin off, it’s so unserious and the characters act different. Also miss the graininess and soundtrack

Different writers/directors, I suspect. I watched a video that briefly mentioned one female writer being pushed out for a male writer. I can’t confirm that, but that’s where I’d start looking.

Big-Ambitions-8258 4 days ago +1
That makes no sense. Sam Levinson notoriously writes every episode

I saw the baby Sweeney pic. Makes sense to me.

They could not go to College because their drug use went on their "Permanent Record".
