The shareholders demand growth now!

I mean, they haven’t had it in a while. In 2021 their stock price was almost $190 and today it closed under $95. I’m not for “forever growth” but at the same time they at least need to keep investors interested.

Well since Trump take presidency they have lost $20 from $115 to $95. The first big drop was during duties war with China last year, the second one when Disney recognize that domestic Parks were not going to grow as much as expected because International tourism to the US was drastically falling due to Trump International and migration politics and the third big drop with Iran war. So this can not be make responsability of Bob Iger or this new CEO

Michael Eisner was a quirky guy and had many business failures but he understood the core of disney magic and the importance of hand drawn animation and the characters that were brought to life by it. That stinking Ai deal was a spit in the face to over 100 years of animator’s blood and sweat and i have no hope for the next a****** in charge.

Plus the Disneyland Abu Dhabi project is probably going to be rethought or at least delayed

> Disneyland Abu Dhabi  🤮 ugh I didn’t know they were planning this but apparently [they’re going ahead with the park](https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolinereid/2026/03/17/disneyland-abu-dhabi-still-going-ahead-says-theme-park-boss/)

The AI thing is not a disaster, it’s a blessing. If you watch D’Amaro’s video message to shareholders sent out the day he took over as CEO, he labours the point that he values *human* creativity. He does not mention AI once. I believe he is happy to walk away from this.  I also believe OpenAI couldn’t have implemented sufficient safeguards to manage Disney IP without it backfiring. Even a single user prompt leading to an inappropriate action would have triggered a legal response from Disney’s lawyers.

None of this is on Disney. If they want a different AI partner, there are plenty who will take the opportunity. These aren't disasters.
