Do any TV shows realistically show characters’ hair growing and changing over time?

Posted by Financial-Pangolin-1

Are there any TV shows where characters’ hair actually changes naturally over time? In most shows, characters somehow keep the exact same hairstyle forever, no visible growth, no trims, nothing. It breaks immersion a bit because in real life hair obviously grows and people get haircuts. Looking for shows where you can actually notice hair growing out over time, or at least see that characters have gotten a trim or changed their hairstyle between episodes/seasons, even if the haircut itself isn’t shown on screen.

Do you mean between seasons or episodes to episode?

What always bugs me is the guys that always have two days of beard growth, but we never see them clean shaven.

It’s one of the little details I always appreciated about New Girl - Nick in particular has his hair and beard change between episodes, growing it out for a few episodes and then getting a trim and a shave.

Doctor Who, somewhat oddly considering the main character is a centuries old alien. Several actors playing the Doctor grew their hair out over the course if their tenure (Pertwee, Davison, Colin Baker, Capaldi) or had different styles (Tennant, and to a lesser extent Troughton) There was even an episode last year about The Doctor going to a barbershop for a haircut

I mean, you can watch Kelsey Grammer's already thinning hair recede in Cheers and through Frasier. It's striking in his first appearance he has a similar hairlien to David Hyde Pierce, who would later play his brother.

Micheal Burnham in Star Trek Discovery is a good example of this: [https://www.listnook.com/r/StarTrekDiscovery/s/AfKWVTdTie](https://www.listnook.com/r/StarTrekDiscovery/s/AfKWVTdTie)
