true love isn’t perfect, it’s sticking around through the mess and still choosing each other, but it’s less magic and more patience, trust, and choosing each other every single day

Honestly this makes more sense than all the fairy tale stuff  love that lasts is usually the one that survives the hard parts

Absolutely. Been with my husband since 1996. We are best friends and absolutely adore each other. There is a huge price to pay for this kind of love....and that price is when one of you goes first. Neither one of us can even bare the thought of losing the other. It will be like our hearts will be ripped in half. Until then.....every moment is a gift.

Define what you mean by true love because I don't think people have a uniform definition, making the meaning of the question vary significantly.
1
luckorsomething Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yup, because I found it.

Beneficial-Law-9645 Apr 1, 2026 +1

Yes. She wasn't feeling well and stayed home today,  so I made her soup. She's asleep next to me on the couch in front of the fire.  🥰

Married to my husband 35 years this Friday. My life would suck without him. He’s my person and he has been since 1991. We’ve had disappointments and loss gray hair and menopause and we would still rather be with each other than anyone else on the planet.
1
PerfectGreen18 Apr 1, 2026 +1
that is wonderful. i love hearing stories from couples who have been together for a long time, and still are deeply in love. doing life with that special person just makes it so much better, and worth it in my opinion
1
PerfectGreen18 Apr 1, 2026 +1
and congrats on your anniversary!

true love feels more like a fairytale for most, but i think it’s about finding someone you connect with on a deeper level. it’s that crazy mix of companionship, respect, and a bit of chaos that makes it real.
1
PerfectGreen18 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes, id say it is definitely all of the above! it feels like a chaotic, scary, fairytale with intense emotions involved and all sorts of other crazy things. It is surreal. I'm honestly scared because this is my year 3 of being with my boyfriend, and my feelings only grow stronger and more intense with time.
1
kiran_urmode Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes, your pets love you truly and unconditionally

ByeRona Apr 1, 2026 +1
First thing I thought of - my two dogs are (were) the loves of my life. And my partner knows that too.

Love like a Man loves a Philly Cheese Steak? A pair of pants that let you crouch? Like watching a spoiled man-child get their comeuppance? There’s so many ways to find true love
1
FootballStriking5596 Apr 1, 2026 +1

Not in this town I don't.
1
BlueberryPandaCakes Apr 1, 2026 +1
Just because!
1
Lethalheaux Apr 1, 2026 +1
I do. It’s why we are all here today, we are living proof that love exists.
1
Radiant_Chart3163 Apr 1, 2026 +1
When I was young and naive, I used to believe in it until I woke up and removed the rose tinted glasses.
1
strict_ghostfacer Apr 1, 2026 +1
Lol nope.
1
mushroomrainshower Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes. I do. Because theough thick and thin, despite all our mistakes, my husband and I continue to love each other. I believe it is a choice to do so.

I met my girlfriend on listnook. She is from a different country. We talked for two weeks. Turned out she had dysautonimia and was trapped in her family house with abusive parents. I went there, took her away from parents, rented an apartment and gave her a proper care. She got worse and competely bedridden and I've been taking 24 care of her for two months while fighting with her family and local government and organizing treatment. Then due to circumstances she got into mental institution. Where she is for a month already with almost no contact. And I am about to rescue her from there and take it to my country next week to continue caring for her. I love her to death, just like I love everybody I choose to love. And if your love doesn't look like this - it's probably just a good friendship
1
ProudBoomer Apr 1, 2026 +1
Of course I do. True love is what lasts. You just have to accept that even though you always love your partner unconditionally, you don't always like them or want to be with them at the moment. True love is accepting that people get pissed and need a minute to get over it.
1
ScarAlternative4037 Apr 1, 2026 +1
No idea. Have never been "truly" in love, so I don't even know what that is
1
IHeartOurContinent Apr 1, 2026 +1
No. At least not for me. I think it stems from people not having much else to do and getting inundated by cultural pressure to do this love thing or you're not living correctly. I travel with my dog and have a YouTube and cover court cases and election across the country. I'm on the road 9 months a year. Never do I wish I was in love. I tried dating someone when I was home and liked her but never went forward. When you're at peace, making progress, eating well and taking long hikes every day, love and responsibility that comes with it seems very dumb
1
Martiallawtheology Apr 1, 2026 +1
I think know true love. But if I answer this some perv is gonna make a dirty comment. Sometimes they even PM.
1
deaconblues13 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Absolutely, but not in the ways you expect. I love my kod more than anything would die for him.
1
Any_Atmosphere9113 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I believe in it, I believe ive felt it, and I’ve had it. It’s the most intense feeling I’ve ever felt. Unfortunately we as humans think we’re smarter and more powerful than love. So it’s also the greatest pain I’ve ever felt. Idk if it’s better to have loved and lost. Because nothing else compares, I feel like every other relationship is just me trying to be a normal person and move on. But there’s no moving on. I believe you just have to learn to live with it. I believe in it because the pain doesn’t go away it just is sometimes quieter.
1
eggtart8 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes because I found it, once. Fate has it we can't be together. I have loved her, I still do and will always be
1
umpisteph Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes, but not in a romantic sense
1
kaikoda Apr 1, 2026 +1
im just hoping its not one and only, i miss her
1
Miss_WhatZitTooYa_ Apr 1, 2026 +1
I know true love is real because I am so full of it
1
MarisaSassesBack Apr 1, 2026 +1
I do. But it does not last.
1
Scream_king_ Apr 1, 2026 +1
No. It's bullshit. Romance is an artificial concept and it's only a tool to keep people trapped and dependent by a so called significant other.
1
Gustavodemierda Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes, when a person loves you and stays loyal to you in spite of all your flaws and if you do the same to that person. That is true love
1
Slight-Structure-553 Apr 1, 2026 +1
i want to so bad because I've read books my entire life yet i can't bring myself to.
1
Whatplanetweon Apr 1, 2026 +1
As I’ve gone through life I start to believe in it less and less. There’s still hope that I’ll find my person but it less than it used to be. I’m okay with that in a way. I feel not everyone is fortunate enough to meet their person in this life. Maybe in another 🤷‍♀️
1
CloseButNoChicory Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes. I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
1
Hopeful_Amoeba2857 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Honestly no, after my horrible past relationships now I pick my mate by how good they are to me, if they can protect me and provide for me. Just like an animal would. I can feel really intense feelings of like/love, but deep down I’m not sure I can feel that way about a man again. I think you can grow into “love” but itll forever be conditional. There is truly no unconditional love, and my mother showed me that.
1
UsedToHaveThisName Apr 1, 2026 +1
No, better to wind up settling and going through the motions and trying not to annoy the other person too much. Better to be in no love relationship than being alone, it's functional and cheaper.
1
Unlikely_Drama_5872 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes, because I have it now.
1
Foreign_Primary4337 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I’ve seen it in my parents’ brother’s, and best friend’s marriages. So, yes, I do believe it exists.
1
C1sko Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes because a I’m living it.
1
Possible-End-8857 Apr 1, 2026 +1
I can't answer that yet in life because I'm 16 and have never even been on a date. But I'll update you in a few years.
1
ThatsAllFolksAgain Apr 1, 2026 +1
True love is always one way. True love means loving someone without the expectation of being loved back. Only a very few people will actually experience someone who they truly love loving you back. Even the few people who experience the reciprocity will experience it for life. The life we have today makes it impossible to have true love. But that shouldn’t dissuade you from trying. Because the few moments of true love are worth more than meeting your god.
1
RareLeadership369 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yes because God ordained me a husband,
1
SeaworthinessOne1407 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Is real love, only love at first sight? Or does it come in various ways.
1
wood_good Apr 1, 2026 +1
No its all about compatibility, timing, and who your friends are
1
Zestyclose-While9203 Apr 1, 2026 +1
