Do you ever regret recommending a show.

Posted by RideSharp2737

I have this friend who I always recomend shows to, but when he starts watching them just the way he talks about them gets on my nerve and wants me to disagree with him and just tell him the show suck. am I a bad friend or does this happen to you too?

Yeah I've stopped recommending stuff to certain people. The way they talk about it just ruins it for you, like they watched a completely different show.

I recommended Black Mirror to my neighbor and now I have to f*** a pig on TV or he won't give me my lawnmower back.

Hahah this was my answer too. I recommended Black Mirror to my brother and his GF one night. I forgot to mention to skip the first ep. They were really “wtf”.

No need to name call her, that’s your wife

She wants me to convert to Hinduism, then she could turn into a complete cow and I'd still worship the ground she walks on.

What is it about the way he talks about shows that angers you? Not really enough details in the post

Idk, I guess the way he makes it his show and acts like he recommended it to me and I’m some kid who dosnt understand the show.

Idk, I guess just the way he makes it his show and won’t stop talking as if he recommended it to me and I’m some kid who needs his help

This seems like you just don't like your friend.

Oh, so you just think he likes it in the wrong way. Hey, have you considered that the problem isn't your friend but that you might be an a******?

You don’t sound like a very mature person

No. I recommend any piece of art for the sole reason that I believe the person I'm recommending it to will enjoy it. If they don't enjoy it, I was simply incorrect in my assumptions so I'll factor that into any further recommendations. But I don't put any personal stake in whether they enjoy it or understand it. That's entirely on them, not me.

I think the problem sounds less like an issue with recommendations, and more like an issue with what kind of friend you have.

I recommended Pantheon to a friend group. Out of the 3, only one started watching it and they stopped watching halfway through the first episode and never went back to it.

I regret getting all my friends to watch Dexter because season 4 was one of the greatest seasons of television if all time and then it just got worse and worse
