Do you prefer productive days or relaxing ones?

Posted by noamizaara

I had a bit of both today and it made me realize I’m not sure which I actually enjoy more. There’s something satisfying about getting things done, but also something really nice about just doing nothing without guilt. # What’s your preference?

I think I feel better overall when I'm productive, but I also need days to recharge. Just depends on circumstances.

Same here. I enjoy being productive, but I’ve learned I’m way better at it when I’ve actually taken time to recharge. What does a good recharge day look like for you?

Basically I either do self care like take a long bath or I just am a bit lazy (naps and laying down)

That’s a solid strategy, I feel like ‘being lazy’ is just underrated recovery time.”

That's how I view it too. Feeling exhausted all the time is not sustainable.

Same here :/ I wish life in general allowed for more recharge days as it seems there's always something needing to be done.

Same here… it’s hard to fully recharge when there’s always something demanding attention.

I feel that, productive days feel better overall, but relaxing can get boring fast. Do you usually end up finding something to do or just ride it out?

Both are interconnected. Relaxing without guilt can only exist if you’ve already had those productive days of doing something.

I want to get stuff done, and crossing items off a paper to-do list gives me immense satisfaction. sometimes, if I I do a thing, I'll write it down and immediately cross it off.

That makes total sense. Seeing things crossed off feels like real progress. I feel like paper lists make it more satisfying than digital ones.

I’m not good at taking a whole day to relax. Always feel guilty and I’m not fully able to enjoy the tv-show, book or video game. Unless I’m hungover, it’s Sunday and raining outside. But I always make sure to have some relaxing me-time at the end of the day. I never du any work or chores after dinner, so I do all the stuff I need to to, dinner might be late but so be it. I eat, I take a shower, put on comfy pants, and then I can finally chill on the couch with a big glass of water and perhaps some snacks.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean—‘full-day relax’ always comes with guilt. But that post-dinner setup? That’s basically a mini-vacation every evening.

Some weekends i like to relax but other weekends i like to do things depending on how i am feeling that day. Yesterday was actually pretty productive for me as i cleaned my room for a few hours which felt nice.

I prefer productive days, because if I relax, I start thinking about all the things I should/should not. That actually becomes more tiresome after some time, and mind gets blocked. So yeah, being productive all day is so much better for me. But also like 2-3 hrs in a day are definetly needed to relax though

i think a balance is key. some days you just need to chill, but getting stuff done feels great too. it's all about how you feel in that moment, honestly.
