Sometimes I reflect back on situations that have happened to me with other people and I realize, dang I was a really good detective here. But part of me wonders if it actually was because the person wasn’t thorough enough in their sneakiness. What do you guys think?
I play the long game. 6 months is usually enough for someone to f*** up in and show what they’re really up to.

I think the ability to resolve conflicts is based on good observation and on a context that has shaped your ability to distinguish and recognize the factors we’ve learned are key to resolution.
It’s not that some people are less intelligent; it’s that we’re shaped from the beginning by things outside our control.
It comes down to learning, and what I feel stands out most when solving something is reflection. You know, the process of digesting what happened and what you did.
Being good at resolving things (personally) means accepting my own positioning and not judging others for not seeing something I’ve already learned to observe.

I don't intentionally "detect" people but I'm a hell of a good diagnostician when it comes to bugs (the software kind, not cockroaches that aren't looking especially well).
pretty limited reason to think I'm smarter than everyone else in a given workplace, but I have a definite edge on this thing. I think it's a combination of knack, interests (I like the flaky stuff), and sheer bloody-minded tenacity.
ftr I *am* smart, but so is everyone else I've worked with who didn't have the same touch.

I’m logical and have an above average memory, so I think that makes me better at finding things than the average person.

I think some people are just so bad at being sneaky that it’s like they want to get caught.

To add onto the other comments here, I think a lot of people also just don't care enough to dig, and often keep info to themselves.
