I've been through that situation. Even the closest person will eventually forget about you and move on! That's sad but truth when you're gone because there is always a replacement if they want to replace

Kinda important at work. They would notice as soon as shit hits the fan.
Also my girlfriend and I live together. She would probably notice my death.
My friends probably notice too?
Y’all have lives?

Most people don’t realize how much they matter until someone says it out loud. Glad you know it too

My garage buddies would definitely notice since I fix all their cars for c**** but most other people would probably just find someone else to hang out with. The shrimp in my tank would starve though so at least something would miss me lol

They will notice for a day or two and move on life goes on.
The same thing happens when you die.

I wrote a short story while I was in the psych hospital from the perspective of my ex girlfriend just how stuff would have played out if I had killed myself. I think it would have a big impact on her, we had broke up a month or two ago, she would blame herself. and a big impact on the other people who love me. my dads brother shot himself, moms brother OD. I am really close with a dead childhood friends mom who OD, then I have a friend who loves me who lost her brother to a drug od, then a boyfriend we where friends with to a seizure in the bathroom, then her childhood best friend to liver failure. you change a little permanently when someone you love die, if I killed myself they would all lose something and never be able to get it back. life is hard for everyone, if my depressed drug addict/alcoholic ass is making you happy then thats weird but im not trying to cause you anymore pain than you have already been through.

This is deep, but for some reason comforting. I wish you well.

Depends on tbe people. I think about this a lot as I have terminal cancer. My husband and mum will never forget me, although I hope very much he will move on and the hole will fill in time. Other friends will be sad for awhile but I'll become an after thought eventually. Colleagues will maybe think of me from time to time over the years but probably not that much.
I know from talking with my mum and her older friends that that's basically how it goes. My mum occasionally mentions friends who died in her 20s, for example, especially if I prompt her with an idle remark. Just a few days ago I was telling her about a quote from a book written by a gay man and specifically a passage where he was talking to an older gay friend about the aids epidemic and she shared about some gay people she knew who had died to aids, and a few who had survived. She still remembered them even though they'd been friends of friends for the most part, but I doubt she'd think of them often.
