Seems largely like minor and unnecessary changes. I always hate to see model work replaced with anachronistic computer-generated visual effects.

This is why I can't watch Star Trek on Paramount+ seeing that gross CGI model of the enterprise just kills my enthusiasm.

Like, at least try to make it look like it was produced in the same century as the original. I remember when they released the first batch of remastered episodes and I physically retched when the first glamour shot of the grey lady came on screen.

But the rubber monsters with the visible zippers and "rock walls" that wiggled as Doctor walked by has always been a great part of its appeal. Same with the amazing pew-pew effects!

It definitely looks like some of the effects shots planned for the original just never got done. Having them added isn't he worst thing in the world. I do love the old model work though. Shame to see that replaced with CGI.
