ive been so tired all week but the moment i start reading anything, manga, manhwa, whatever, i lose all balance. i tell myself just one more chapter and suddenly it’s 3 am and i havent done any of my work.
it’s honestly why i have to avoid starting new series sometimes because i know i’m going to get stuck in that loop. does anybody else here just lose track of time the second they open a book or a manga? or am i just bad at time management?
im exactly the same with Mahnwa. I tell myself "just one more chapter" and then suddenly sun is coming up and I've read 50 chapters.

a lot of stuff is literally engineered around cliffhangers and pacing to keep you locked in, so it’s not just “lack of self control”
1. the alarm-across-the-room trick actually works way better than people expect. once you physically stand up, it kind of breaks the loop and gives you a second to go “ok do i really want to keep going or just sleep”
2. and yeah, the “no reading in bed” rule is huge. bed + story = instant time warp. i had to train myself to only read at my desk or on the couch, otherwise i’d just destroy my sleep schedule
getting hooked on a story is at least more “focused” than doomscrolling. still wrecks your sleep, but at least you’re not bouncing between 50 tabs of nonsense 😂

The 'one more chapter' lie is the biggest lie I tell myself. I’ve literally seen the sun come up because I couldn’t put a manhwa down. It’s not even bad time management at that point, it’s just a hostage situation with the plot. What was the last one that ruined your sleep schedule like that?
