Sometimes when I want to text someone I’m not really sure how to write the message to start the conversation so first I use the Notes app on my phone to write it down as a way of rehearsing it because I’m afraid that if I’m rehearsing it on the Messages keyboard I might send it by accident and say something I didn’t want to say. Once I figure out how I want to send the text message, I type it and then send it to that person I want to text.
It's the anxiety 🫂 i don't even want them watching me type. The bubbles appearing

I send myself a text, edit as needed, copy/paste.

Absolutely. And I use desktop sticky notes to compose a message before even opening my email on PC.

I use an email draft instead.

It depends. Sometimes for work texts, I will. Most of the time though, I won't.

Yeah, a lot, it’s just easier to reread and type without worrying they’ve seen you’re typing lol

Only when I was trying to craft the perfect text to respond to my toxic af ex wife. I've cut contact, so not anymore.

I used to write angry tweets and save them as drafts until I calmed down, everyday got out the habit of even bothering

I use the notes app for everything: shopping lists, email proofreading, haiku…

I’ve done it - soMetimes while I research something, or need to calm down, or just don’t want to forget something - sometimes they get sent, sometimes they don’t.

I do it like that. Part of it is to avoid irritating the reciever with the three blinking dots until I'm done writing.

OMG I totally get this! I do the exact same thing with my Notes app. It's like my pre-conversation practice zone before hitting send. Better safe than sorry when it comes to accidental texts, right?

Not me. If anything I want to say is that complicated then I just call or talk to them in person. You lose so much context, tone of voice, non-verbal communication, etc in a text. No matter how much you rehearse/rewrite it it's still not going to be good. Then there's the large percentage of people who don't scrutinize every text who will write back in 5 seconds. You gonna spend another 10 minutes drafting a response to them just for them to respond in 5 seconds again? It's a waste of time and will always lead to misunderstanding. Just. Talk. To. People

I only rehearse the initial message though and I do it when the message I’m about to send is a bit long. After that I just text back and forth.

If it is a longer text and/or a thoughtful text I do. Mainly because I type a little fast sometimes and Autocorrect and I don’t really get along so I have to go back and fix a lot of words I wish it had just left misspelled. But made the mistake of turning it off and that was actually worse. So I just deal with the hate lol 😂

I do this all the time, especially for texts to people I'm anxious about or trying to keep things casual with. It's wild how much of a difference rewording something a few times makes—like what you write in that first draft is almost never what actually gets sent.

If it gets too long, I just screenshot the whole page and send that to them instead.

Yes, I do that all the time, I use the notes app to write the first draft of my message and then edit it out before copying and pasting it onto the desired messaging platform.

Yesssss
I will legit copy paste their message, break it down into parts, type out each individual reply for that specific break; then strain it all together.

What works for you is what you show stick with. I use something else but it's not an app. Its a pen and spiral.
