That's a very naive take. This is about gathering opposition voters and making up a bullshit excuse to put them in prison. They've already started killing the migrants in the ICE concentration camps. I don't know how many more people will need to die for people to recognize the US has been taken over by Nazis.

That and quite a few are probably getting concerned about criminal prosecutions in the future, They may have gone past the point of no return on too many things too.
