Hey look, more evidence that Republicans were totally full of shit when they talked about meritocracy. They’re literally lowering standards to hire people with their preferred ideology.

I believe the word you're looking for is "meritocracy." Be aware that you have to keep the quotes around it when using their definition of the word.

MAGA doesn't know what that means. They don't know what DEI means, either, but they at least know how they should react to it.

It’s all in the definitions. That IS “merit” to the right-wing cult that Republicans have become. Much like “people” are only white, “Christian” straight men worth at least a quarter million; the rest of us peons are just rabble to use or rouse as needed.

Oh its even worse...
"In a March 13 message with the subject line, “Suspension of Attorney One Year Experience Requirement,” DOJ headquarters informed US attorneys’ offices that the department’s lawyer recruitment office now permits them to exclude the one-year minimum when advertising vacancies. The memo reviewed by Bloomberg Law goes on to state, “This suspension is in effect until February 28, 2027, and was implemented due to an exigent hiring need for attorneys across the Department.”
There are now public postings for assistant US attorney openings in Minnesota, South Florida, Montana, Alaska, and Louisiana that list a law degree and active state bar membership as required qualifications. They don’t mention a minimum period of service, while other US attorney’s offices still mandate at least one or three years out of law school."

Considering they are taking L’s in grand juries over and over it’s more like premier league teams losing to every national league team they face in the Cup tournaments. Or a top 10 tennis player playing the 60 year old club champ and losing every game. They’ve probably 100xed the number of failed grand jury indictments in a year in federal history at this point. They can’t even win their for fun games.

When I graduated law school, eons ago, a job as an AUSA was coveted, a career-defining appointment. Today, I would tell young lawyers to avoid that agency and go to work for your State AG, or be a private attorney.
