Singapore-slimmy Apr 4, 2026 +85
Honestly, her picture on American currency would be the best.

lifegoeson5322 Apr 4, 2026 +28
She is just awesome. Not a fan of country but I love her generosity and humor (on the interviews I've seen).
28
Sunshine030209 Apr 4, 2026 +8
Yep, you don't have to enjoy her music to be a Dolly Parton fan for sure!
8
MD-Jan-Itor Apr 4, 2026 +9
Her signature should be on the money not clowns.
9
TheGreatCornholeo Apr 3, 2026 +198
Dolly truly is one of the good ones. In a world full of awful celebrities, she's the shining light we all need.
198
Thunderbird1974 Apr 3, 2026 +72
We should be naming airports and streets after Dolly!!
72
lifegoeson5322 Apr 4, 2026 +40
I would rather see her name on the U.S. institute of Peace and the Kennedy Center of performing Arts. And of course, she needs a airport too.
40
Lastcaressmedown138 Apr 4, 2026 +9
At least she is an accomplished performer and beloved by most people .. her name on performing arts center would make far more sense
9
friendlynbhdwitch Apr 4, 2026 +3
I get the impression that she doesn’t really want that. I’m pretty sure she’d rather we just be nicer to each other, pay it forward.
3
sooper_dooperest Apr 3, 2026 +148
In a world of Elons, be a Dolly Parton 🥺
148
beachcoquina Apr 3, 2026 +24
This needs to be on a t-shirt.
24
Daily-Double1124 Apr 4, 2026 +9
And on a bumper sticker. :)
9
I-Am-Yew Apr 4, 2026 +18
There are so many sheep in this world. This is the Dolly we should have cloned.
18
Additional-Radish532 Apr 4, 2026 +1
Slight edit in the world of Elons, Bezos, Zuckerberg…. Be a Dolly! Can you imagine if these billionaires used their money for good instead of enhancing their greed, vanity projects, and political power. Well at least some of their ex wives are helping the world.
1
jr_randolph Apr 3, 2026 +629
She funded research to develop the Covid vaccine when world leaders were sitting on their asses. She’s a f****** saint for real.
629
Nervous_Squirrel_ Apr 3, 2026 +92
Most western countries poured money into a covid vaccine. Canada I know spent a ton. Most of the EU too. Think just the US was slow on that.
92
kmccoy Apr 5, 2026 +3
Operation Warp Speed cost a bit over $12 billion
3
Expando3 Apr 3, 2026 -101
Arguing about who can climb the ladder faster. But, who built the ladder? Both Moderna and Pfizer that created the prevalent Covid vaccines are US-based companies.
-101
your_easter_bonnet Apr 3, 2026 +90
Pfizer didn’t create the vaccine. They partnered with a Germany company named BioNTech who developed it. Pfizer provided support for trials and distribution but the scientists at BioNTech came up with it. They’d been working on mRNA vaccines as a method to cure cancer prior to Project Lightspeed.
90

3
DunkingTea Apr 4, 2026 +17
lol no response from them on this one…
17
redditor223334444 Apr 4, 2026 -27
Depending on how interpreted the word “created”. Moderna and Pfizer absolutely “created” the physical product. The manufacture and distribution of the drugs are just as much of a miracle as discovering the vaccine.
-27
CongealedBeanKingdom Apr 4, 2026 +16
The goalposts!!!! They're *moving!!!!!!!*
16
MaximumOverfart Apr 4, 2026 +11
And this is the crux. Scientific discoveries and break throughs are almost never in isolation. It is building off the discoveries of others and researching the practical applications. The whole mRNA conversation would never have got off the ground without the University of BCs ground breaking work on lipids. Which in turn would not have been possible without work done prior to that. True science knows no borders.
11
zbend Apr 4, 2026 +3
I'd take it further and say true accomplishment knows no hero's. Its team, collaboration ect.
3
MaximumOverfart Apr 4, 2026 +2
Well said, those were the words I was looking for.
2
Nervous_Squirrel_ Apr 5, 2026 +1
Stop claiming inventions that are not yours. They were not american inventions. American funding yes but not created by.
1
sm04d Apr 3, 2026 +142
She truly is the best of us.
142
JefferyTheQuaxly Apr 3, 2026 +31
I’ve met her in person an she’s exactly like this in person too, friendly funny and kind, cares more about her philanthropy than her music career, she truly cares about helping people learn to read since her own father didn’t learn to read until he was an adult with a family
31
armhat Apr 4, 2026 +5
She funded a program that sends my kids books every month. Dolly is the GOAT
5
tired_but_trying42 Apr 4, 2026 +4
My mom signed both my kids up for that program. They loved waiting for their new book each month. And the ready for kindergarten book that comes last is so sweet.

I know they say puns are the lowest form of humor - but I don’t care. That was great.
22
Daily-Double1124 Apr 4, 2026 +9
She's one of the few country artists whose music I love. Also Johnny Cash. Two great voices.

I don’t think they actually had dicks for heads.
10
Bushiest_Beavor Apr 3, 2026 +4
Why? Was it because of the issues the theme park has been having? I’m sure none of that is controlled by her directly.
4
synapseattack Apr 3, 2026 +36
This will be the one celeb that hurts when her times comes. She is a wonderful person who can outshine anyone.
36
Iammeandnothingelse Apr 3, 2026 +5
Another one will be Danny Devito in my opinion. Both great individuals.
5

I love her, but come on. Betty White?
13

god dammit you are right. Two absolute treasures

“Be a Dolly” with Dolly’s face on the front, and “not a Don” on the back with a big 🚫 over his face
6

I don’t even like country music but I f****** love this woman. She’s so fabulous and generous and a f****** gift to this world.
18
andyraylan Apr 3, 2026 +17
To be like Dolly, not a bad aspiration to hold.
17
Sauerteig Apr 3, 2026 +18
Dolly Parton, genuinely trying to make American great.. and smart enough never to get into politics.
18
rourobouros Apr 3, 2026 +15
I never liked country & western music until Dolly worked with Linda and Emmylou. When I listened to Dolly I learned how great music makes genre classifications irrelevant. Then I learned about Dolly as a person. Maybe we don’t deserve her. This is just the latest thing she’s done to help the rest of us. Just lost her husband and she reaches out to help children. Thank you Dolly.
15
ChaoticSenior Apr 3, 2026 +26
We have a local version of her where I live. Gentleman named Rick Steves. Some people are just better.
26
Traditional-Coach820 Apr 4, 2026 +10
I always say that if life is a game, Rick Steves is its grand champion. Dude’s made a career of getting baked and exploring Europe all while encouraging curiosity and inclusion. A real gem, that lucky b******.
10
ChaoticSenior Apr 4, 2026 +6
lol. He supports all the right causes in our town, like saving a sanitation center for the unhoused by dropping a $500k check when asked. He’s one of a kind.
6

It’s crazy Dolly Parton does more for Tennessee than it’s actual elected officials do
11
ThnkWthPrtls Apr 4, 2026 +10
I wouldn't mind having so many billionaires around if they would take their behavioral cues from Dolly Parton
10
After-Dentist-2480 Apr 4, 2026 +9
Some extremely rich people use their wealth (rarely gained solely by their own talents) in failed attempts to make others’ lives worse and self-aggrandising duck-swinging to try to make us think they are better people. Dolly uses her wealth, earned solely by her own talent, to make life better for as many people as possible. She is worth more than a million Musks, Trumps, Zuckerbergs etc.
9
Pig_Pen_g2 Apr 3, 2026 +9
Dolly Parton is the best
9
Usual-Insurance-3843 Apr 3, 2026 +6
No one dislikes Dolly Parton. We all know that anyone who said that would be immediately known as a terrible person.
6
Pale-Inspector-8094 Apr 3, 2026 +8
No drama in her whole career. She has always been a lady . She ignored the barbs of media personalities and has shown us what real grace and sophistication looks like.
8
JumpyNeat2664 Apr 3, 2026 +8
Of course she did. She’s Dolly. Just make her Queen of Everything already.
8
zdhonda93 Apr 3, 2026 +6
Saint Dolly, helping fund the development of the Covid Vaccine, making sure kids have books to read. I still have books from her program on the shelf from when my kids were young.
6
4rm4ros Apr 3, 2026 +8
If aliens come to earth I vote that she should represent us
8
Leading-Debate-9278 Apr 3, 2026 +8
She’s great, but what if we don’t have to hope for a good rich person to bequeath us what we need. Tax the rich.

I suggest that when Trump is finally done with, we name all the stuff he renamed for himself to Dolly. She's truly an international treasure.

AND…she can SING!
3
SpyOfMystery Apr 4, 2026 +3
Yes she can! Light of a Clear Blue Morning came on my shuffle on today and I was thinking about how she doesn’t get enough credit for her vocals. It’s probably because there are so many things to give her credit for and only so many hours in a day lol. She is insanely talented
3
hockenduke Apr 4, 2026 +1
Check out It’s All Wrong But It’s Alright and Mule Skinner Blues. One of the best vocalists in history.

Great work Dolly, truely a great thing, but this should not be something that needs to happen. Health care, just like education should be availble for everyone without a price barrier

She is a great human and all other deeds All Dolly Day for the world I decree

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Most wealthy people do QCDs. It lowers their tax burden. Would they still do it if it weren’t for that perk? Depends on how incentives effect human behavior, I guess. 🤷‍♂️

I hope the $$ is being watched carefully. Hospital execs have a way of funneling $$ out for themselves. You'll see it. New cars, second and third houses, clothes, jewels, and vacations. Oh, and unnecessary office renovations.
2
USSSLostTexter Apr 5, 2026 +1
is there any celeb better than Dolly? she's AMAZING
1
Oppositeofhairy 6 days ago +2
Hate to admit this. She’s probably working on her final exit in life and making sure the money is going where she wants instead of an estate bickering about it.
2
static-klingon Apr 4, 2026
Oh no, is she dying soon? We need people like her.
0
nonsensestuff Apr 4, 2026 +1
No she’s always giving away her money like this.
1
omeganaut Apr 5, 2026
She really shouldn’t have done that.  Children’s hospitals have really crappy boards that take extremely high administrative fees out of donations, sometimes as high as 98 percent of the donation, leaving nothing for the children.
0
CRISPRcremes Apr 5, 2026 +1
I mean do we know the ins and outs of this? Sure I’m with you most of the time, but I’ve also learned that I’m a complete dumbass and don’t know what I’m bitching about most of the time.
1
omeganaut Apr 5, 2026 +1
I used to work at a Shriners children’s hospital.  Most of the money from donations went into the pockets of the Shriners and not the children.  The hospital constantly struggled despite getting millions in donations
1
CRISPRcremes Apr 5, 2026 +1
For sure these things occur, I’m asking specifically about Dolly’s.
1
omeganaut Apr 5, 2026 +1
You’ll never know unless you work there because they will never ever tell people that their donations are going into their pockets instead of the children.  Nobody would ever donate again
1
CRISPRcremes Apr 5, 2026 +1
Well, no one with logical reasoning
1
Old_Channel44 Apr 3, 2026 -5
Or we could tax the rich (like her) and properly fund hospitals.
-5
Noodler75 Apr 3, 2026 +7
Unlike all the billionaires, Dolly did not inherit or steal her money. She earned it. The income from "I will always love you" is what let her build Dollywood, employing thousands of people in her very poor part of Tennessee.
7
Dairy_Ashford Apr 4, 2026
> Unlike all the billionaires, Dolly did not inherit or steal her money. she sold a distncitve product at high volume, like many if not most others, then maintained a capital allocation structure that garnered her a large share of the revenue. the parsing and favoritism here is tiresome.
0
Old_Channel44 Apr 3, 2026 -5
Many billionaires make their fortune while underpaying workers, and You’re right that Dolly isn’t the only one. I just think they should be taxed fairly.
-5
nonsensestuff Apr 4, 2026 +6
I’m sure Dolly would gladly pay more taxes. But that’s not her fault and she’s been generous with her money her entire career— never seeking to gain billionaire status.
6
Old_Channel44 Apr 4, 2026 -3
What makes you think she’d gladly pay more taxes? Any statements she made to that effect? Did you know she’s been underpaying people at her theme park for decades? She got rich off poor people
-3
Gpw12078 Apr 4, 2026 +3
Do you even know who you’re talking about? Dolly has done a LOT for East Tennesseans. She is a living saint. Point your guile at those who warrant it. She ain’t the one.
3
Old_Channel44 Apr 4, 2026 +1
Her marketing team has been working overtime in recent years to whitewash her image. Look up her little civil war dinner theater where people root for the south and horses ride around with confederate flags. Another ride encouraged kids to ride a train loaded with confederate money and fight off those yanks.
