You gotta Love Dolly Parton 💕

Lady is still sending my kids books! TOTAL BOOKS GIFTED: 314,857,134 (not all 314 million went to my kids specifically)

I hope whoever got book 314,159,270 also got a pie

Isn’t it 314-159-265?
18
dwhite21787 Apr 11, 2026 +10
I tried from memory and failed
10
tomsloat Apr 11, 2026 +8
If I could I’d give you a pie for the effort.

And here I was thinking it was due to budget cuts
3
comradecarlcares Apr 11, 2026 +3
If only our government cared about our education like Dolly does
3
BrutalHunny Apr 12, 2026 +5
I made a decent donation to my local library because I wanted my kid to get those books but didn’t want to take away from a kid who couldn’t afford books. I really loved them when I lived in Maryland. Want to know how shitty Florida is? They won’t even offer it.
5
simonhunterhawk Apr 12, 2026 +2
Florida politicians are afraid if kids learn to read or get a decent education they might not vote red anymore
2
CarefulArgument Apr 12, 2026 +3
My first child was just born days ago, and I absolutely loved that one of the questions that the hospital asked was “Do you want books from Dolly Parton?” Like, I knew the program existed, but I hadn’t realized it had become so ubiquitous that it was the question right after “Do you want the Vitamin K shot?”
3
realkennyg Apr 12, 2026 +3
And she will until they turn 5. Our grandson loved getting those books. Dolly is a millionaire by choice.
3
deliciousearlobes Apr 11, 2026 +27
It feels like a litmus test. If you don’t like Dolly, how can you be trusted? r/DollyParton

Long_Bit8328 Apr 11, 2026 +13
You spelled "love" wrong.
13
AnglerJared Apr 12, 2026 +3
If you don’t like Dolly, how can you be loved?
3
LittleSodaPop13 Apr 11, 2026 +191
The thing about Dolly is that not only is she a talented singer and actress, but she's a genuinely nice person. She cares about people regardless of her status. She was raised in a one-room cabin and had eleven other siblings. I don't think she has ever forgotten where she came from, and that is why she continues to donate money to various causes. Dolly is a queen, and we are so lucky her kindness hasn't abated
191
TRKlausss Apr 11, 2026 +49
It is the archetype of what every person with enough money to live 5 lives should do with that money. It is one of the most altruistic persons I’ve seen. Maybe not in amount of money donated, but in how she uses it (like the kid’s books thing).
49
Christmas_Queef Apr 11, 2026 +32
I mean look at Mckenzie, she took all that obscene wealth she got from leaving Amazon and divorcing bezos, and has given so so so so much of it to charity. Seems like all she's doing with said money is donating.
32
TRKlausss Apr 11, 2026 +16
She’s a good sport, but how she is donating it also makes a difference. It’s not the same “giving all to a foundation and done” than “I’ll personally care that this money is put to good use”.
16
Inevitable-Rush-2752 Apr 11, 2026 +23
I live in her backyard (not literally, but the area she came from). She is low key generous to a fault. When we had bad wildfires in the area, she simply came to offer financial support to those affected. No grandiose media announcements, no gratuitous photo ops. She just did. She’s as good as good gets.
23
kylebertram Apr 11, 2026 +6
I saw an article a few years ago that she is so rich the interest her money is gaining and her stocks going up causes her to make money faster than she can donate it.
6
Diz7 Apr 11, 2026 +4
If I ever had that kind of money, I would setup up a charity that invests it, and splits the returns between keeping itself growing and donating money. Create a self sustaining charity.
4
Puglady25 Apr 11, 2026 +15
If only every person who became very wealthy felt like Dolly. I'll bet she's happy too. That's why it's easy for her to be generous, and it's like a neverending loop that gives joy and satisfaction back to her.
15
ChickpeaDemon Apr 11, 2026 +65
As she should be.
65
Puzzleheaded-Trip990 Apr 11, 2026 +29
Take care of this woman! She's a blessing!
29
RociBuldidi Apr 11, 2026 +29
Her imagination library gets little to no press but sends 3 million books a month to children up to the age of 5. More than 300M books sent to Americas youth. Amazing.
29
Inevitable-Rush-2752 Apr 11, 2026 +10
They tried to ban it in Indiana if I remember correctly. Imagine being that shitty. I’d like to see them try that here in East Tennessee.
10
Darkdragoon324 Apr 11, 2026 +8
So Indiana is taking the anti-literacy position?
8
ky7969 Apr 12, 2026 +2
It’s Indiana, what do you expect?
2
xDrewstroyerx Apr 12, 2026 +5
We love the imagination library, with multiple kids my house is STOCKED with books, and I owe a lot of my children’s literacy and love for reading to Saint Dolly of Appalachia.
5
buckao Apr 12, 2026 +2
Let's be honest here, that sounds all well and good, but did you know Dolly also supports music programs in majority black high schools? "Here’s a quietly wonderful thing I noticed: If you talk to someone who was in choir or band at a majority Black HS, you’ll eventually discuss those annoying fundraisers for uniforms, instruments, etc. & a SURPRISING number will casually say, “Oh, Dolly Parton paid for ours," -Harriot, via Twitter

I’m not saying he is better than Dolly, but my neighbor is a really nice guy.
3
leggy89 Apr 12, 2026 +2
Does he have a great singing voice and big hooters too?
2
wellwaffled Apr 12, 2026 +3
No, but he bush-hogged my back field last year while he was cutting his without even being asked.
3

I tend to think polls are bullshit but this one tracks. WHO BETTA THAN DOLLY?!
18
Adept-Sir-1704 Apr 11, 2026 +16
She sends my daughter books every month.
16
Tough_Ad6387 Apr 11, 2026 +85
Don’t let Trump know. He’ll have her arrested.
85
philosophyofblonde Apr 11, 2026 +33
Dolly for President. At least she’d make sure kids have books and that’s a 10000% improvement over the current situation.
33
Mediocre-Proposal686 Apr 11, 2026 +16
Can you imagine having someone as down to earth and KIND as a president? No wars, we’d all have insurance and no kid would be hungry or bookless.
16
ratlunchpack Apr 11, 2026 +19
Dolly is the only 80 year old that should hold that office.

Came here to say she couldn't be worse than what we have and what we're going to nominate.
3
Learned-Dr-T Apr 11, 2026 +5
We do not want to waste Dolly on something as useless as the presidency.
5
Inevitable-Rush-2752 Apr 11, 2026 +6
We should revert to a monarchy and make her the queen.
6
hendrixfalcon Apr 11, 2026 +23
I shit you not one of the groups questioned the “liberal indoctrination messages” of her books. It went as well as you can imagine. Like dude, it’s a f****** hungry caterpillar.
23
Mediocre-Proposal686 Apr 11, 2026 +13
They were just jealous that they couldn’t read.
13
Darkdragoon324 Apr 11, 2026 +3
I'm sure Dolly has a charity that can help with that.
3
DoggiEyez Apr 11, 2026 +18
For sending propaganda to children. My kids get commie books from her every month. Such evil like "the little engine that could." Horrifying :) Thanks Dolly for being amazing. I recommend reading her auto biography. It's a great read.
18
MassiveBoner911_3 Apr 11, 2026 +9
Dolly would f*** him up

Stucklikegluetomyfry Apr 12, 2026 +3
Hope he’s ready to have the Capital stormed if he does that
3
weirdoldhobo1978 Apr 11, 2026 +12
In the era of knowing way too much about each other, I appreciate that Dolly still keeps her private life private.
12
IKnowAllSeven Apr 11, 2026 +4
The ONE thing that I really, really want her to show us more of is her wig and costume collection. I would LOVE to see a museum exhibit or full museum of just her costumes and wigs.
4
PSPs0 Apr 11, 2026 +10
She sends FREE books each month to children! You can sign up for free in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland. https://imaginationlibrary.com

True story. And they keep coming until they’re 5, I think. My son has a whole shelf devoted Dolly. We live close enough to Dollywood that we can jump over there once in a while and he loves it.
3
GabeDef Apr 11, 2026 +9
Dolly is a national treasure. At least we can all agree on something. That’s a start.
9

7

Yes, we do. We all deserve to believe that we are worthy of love and kindness just as we are, and she'd be the first to tell you so. ❤️

You can tell good people from [evil people](https://thefederalist.com/2024/06/06/theres-nothing-loving-about-dolly-partons-false-gospel/) by whether they love Dolly Parton.
13
QueezyF Apr 12, 2026 +2
How f****** dare she say love your neighbor. What kind of pinko commie scumbag came up with that load of c***?
2
UrsusRenata Apr 11, 2026 +7
Isn’t it ironic how our citizens so often favor kindness and charity, but so rarely offer it?
7
Longjumping-Air1489 Apr 11, 2026 +5
Cause she’s a fuckin American treasure. It’s not some weird conspiracy-she’s f****** rich as all hell and actually USES HER WEALTH TO HELP OTHERS. I know. But it’s why we love her. She’s a great person.
5
Cute-Sale3878 Apr 12, 2026 +5

3
HabitantDLT Apr 11, 2026 +3
Betcha this title comes with sweet perks!
3
KtaadnRota Apr 11, 2026 +3
And Vladimir Putin is the least popular, with *exactly opposite* approval rating in this poll. He's the anti-Parton, she's the anti-Putin. You ever see that picture of him on a horse? Notice anything else that's exactly opposite of Dolly about him? No? Hmm. Just speculating. We need to understand the science of popularity.
3
Sufficient-Will3644 Apr 11, 2026 +3

3

She is popular because she is kind. Kindness. It matters. Sprinkle it everywhere.
3

I think she's the only thing left that liberals and conservatives agree on.
3

3

2

Went to Dollywood last year, and enjoyed the videos of her background as much as the rides and park. She's absolutely a true gem.
3
Stucklikegluetomyfry Apr 12, 2026 +3
If you’re ever in a tricky situation, just ask yourself What Would Dolly Do?
3
xDrewstroyerx Apr 12, 2026 +3
Checks out, she’s given my kids books for year.

Why the f*** is Joe Biden so hated lmao like what did this man do so bad, explain it to someone not politically inclined, like I can see Trump not being liked because his decision making and personality but Biden I’m not saying he’s good I just wasn’t affected at all by anything he did.

She’s probably one of the most popular people, with the rest of the world too.
2
ConsistentDay5620 Apr 12, 2026 +2
She has had such a loss recently and health problems this year but still gave a crazy huge donation to a children’s hospital. She is just such a kind person. 🖤
2
VirginiaLuthier Apr 12, 2026 +2
Why? Because she LOVES everyone and HATES no one
2
TruthsNoRemedy Apr 12, 2026 +2
A genuinely good person is the most popular?? Who knew it would work that way! Someone should tell the wealthy and the government that being a shower of deplorable c*nts is not working!! In other news, Dolly Parton is a legend and is a beacon of hope for any other us who see the human race as worthless.
2
gman757 Apr 11, 2026 +3
Shit, I’d vote her for president if she ran. Lots of shit would get fixed I think

1
Hungry_Bit_8377 Apr 11, 2026 +1
Love Dolly, happy for her, and respect the incredible things she's done. From a polling standpoint, it's voting between a bunch of unpopular politicians (on both sides of the aisle but including Zelensky, Putin and Netanyahu), plus Dolly, and Taylor Swift. So that would definitely skew results towards Dolly just by the fact she isn't a politician or Taylor who can be controversial. It almost feels like Taylor/Dolly's a control group.
