What's most chilling here is the shared indifference toward human life. Whether the commenters are blaming Israel or debating Jewish identity, the common denominator seems to be that if the victims were Israelis or Pro-Israel it would somehow be justified. Using a terror attack to score political points while ignoring the victims is a moral failure, plain and simple.

Too many people don't realize that attacks on Jews who are not in the IDF/Israeli government just helps Israel spread its propaganda. And those who justify this kind of violence do Netanyahu's job for him.

What's more, it makes more Jews afraid and feel like they have no choice to become closer to Israel, and to the right wing propaganda arm of Israel. I've been watching this happen in my own community. I watch events unfold like Mamdani's failure to address the virulent anti-Semitic language being used outside a synagogue in Brooklyn for a full 24 hours, until after Shabbat had started.
Without saying a word he confirmed what many Jews on the fence in NYC feared, that he would not be up to the task of representing Jewish New Yorkers, of ensuring our safety, and of being a voice that could bring calm to the tensions of the moment and help find a constructive path forward. That's deeply saddening to see, because I still want to give him the chance to do better, but he's got to take it. If not, he will end up being a part of the divisiveness in a place with not only one of the largest Jewish populations in the US, but also one of the largest Muslim populations.

Very much so. If he’d been able to walk into a gun store and pick up an AR-15 on the spot, it could have been far worse.
Thank god the UK has sensible gun laws.
To expand: every country has people like this, and while stabbings are clearly awful, knives are something that every house uses, so there is no way to fully prevent this. However, the amount of people that someone can attack in a mass stabbing vs a mass shooting is orders of magnitude lower.

Yet you have Jews funding anti-Islam rallies from Tony Robinson. Such as Robert Shillman, a Jewish American tech billionaire, paying him a 5k a month fellowship, or the Israeli government paying for an all expenses trip to Israel so Robinson could be paraded around as an overseea hero combating antisemitisim....
Let's not pretend one side is better than the other.

Incorrect.
Plenty of Jewish people get stabbed and it's not classified as terrorism/hate crime.
And there are A LOT of cases where Muslims are attacked and it IS classified as terrorism/hate crime.
When some random Jewish people in England get brutally stabbed, bringing up whataboutism with a war involving the US, Israel, and Iran is mean and hateful. It's just as hateful as saying "what about all the people who died in 9/11?" when someone who just happens to be Muslim is stabbed.

Nah, antisemitism has to be either grossly overstated (hence "quit playing victim") or caused by Israel, i.e. be caused by Jews. Or both simultaneously, despite the contradiction.

current antisemitic rhetoric is caused by israel. previously, before october 7th, it was definitely overstated. now, it is much less overstated. not very hard to understand this nuance

And there were still a lot of anti-semites. And I think it even being "most" who were pro-Jewish depends largely on where you were. Some countries had the Protocols of the Elders of Zion or similar taught in schools, and believed even by well-educated people.

I said the book and similar were taught, not that it was *written* after WWII. Conspiracy theories based on the book continue to bounce around the culture. And acknowledging antisemitism isn't "playing victim."

i never said they werent for many years? i said afterwards. also, people have hated foreigners since the beginning of time. its just there havent been many groups of exiled people like them. the only similar one that comes to mind are romani people, they too are hated but they kept more to themselves on the outskirts of society. jews never integrated into society and were always seen as outsiders. people dont like outsiders

those are terrible also but the problem is
1. its not a one sided foreign power demolishing a weaker group of people. its a civil war.
2. there is basically no media showcasing those atrocities. people are more invested in palestinians because we've seen so much carnage

They both have significantly higher civilian death tolls. There are also foreign powers involved in these genocides such as Iran and the UAE. You can justify the fact you’re a despicable rodent of a human being with all the dishonesty you want, but it doesn’t change that you’re pond scum for justifying violence against Jewish people. Maybe Hamas should stop starting wars. Islamic countries never create competent governments that can win wars in modern day, they should stop causing them as none of these civilians deserve to die.

of course not. thats quite an assumption of my positioning. but there is obviously a difference between killing 10 people, for example, and killing 70000. genocides tend to illicit a much stronger response out of people and if you dont understand that you are either 1. unintelligent or 2. being intellectually dishonest

Is it fine to stab muslim people on the streets in unrelated countries because of the saudi governments genocide on yemen, or islamic terrorists using the name of god to kill innocent people? What Israel is doing is obviously horrible, but attacking people purely based on their faith, in a country not involved with the genocide is fucked up. To defend a clear antisemetic stabbing like this, and the rise in antisemetism is what israel uses to shield themselves from international criticism and continue their atrocities.

the 'Martyr’s Fund' is actually run by the Palestinian Authority, not Hamas, and the 50,000 figure includes a massive number of civilians, wounded individuals, and prisoners rather than just active combatants
