I recently re-watched Dude Where's My Car and I noticed some of the jokes were cut out on the bluray version.
Specifically at one point Jesse and Chester say about the Keepers Of The Continuum Transfunctioner (something like) "There's those totally gay nordic dudes at 3 o' clock". That entire scene was missing.
And when the Jumpsuit Chicks first encounter Jesse and Chester, they originally say something like "We will give you oral pleasure if you give us the Continuum Transfunctioner" and I've seen it edited to either "e***** pleasure" or in the bluray they just cut it out to say "We will give you pleasure".
Does anyone know if there is an uncut version of the movie or an original cut anywhere out there that has all the scenes intact?
Those can be so weird. I remember ace Ventura the tbs version had scenes that weren’t in the regular movie. Like they traded raunchy scenes for bonus scenes

I still remember the extra scene at the end of the broadcast version of Death by Murder with Sherlock Holmes arriving as everyone else is leaving.
I’ve heard that scene didn’t appear in theaters, and isn’t usually on the physical copy?

One of the greatest scenes in Ace is when he's Heinz Getsvelsvet and talking about talking to the dolphin.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that hardly anyone even knows that scene because somehow it shows up in the Region 4 DVD release and hardly anywhere else.

I remember watching Con Air on my TBS or something, and they added a few extra scenes. The John Cusack character had an assistant or something and it is shown that his assistant had some type of crush on him.
Independence Day too. There was a side subplot of the crop dusters son having some type of sickness. You still see it in one part of the movie in the RV where they pull over and he pukes. But on the TV broadcast version there's like two or three more scenes where he's sick talking about not being a baby and he doesn't need his medicine and shit
It's kind of weird but I guess they probably needed to add more time to the movies for the stuff they cut out.

Very typical. When ABC aired Superman the first time in the early 80s they had to add stuff for the 3 hour time s***. This included major FX sequences not in the theater. For years, the ABC bootleg was popular at dork conventions. The Godfather had lots of stuff added in when they showed it over 2 nights.

What I consider the definitive cut of Waterworld is one of those. Added in some stuff that was cut for the theatrical release and made a better film for doing so.

I’ve been building a small blu-ray collection recently and you can actually find quite a bit at thrift and pawn shops. Blu-rays are usually pretty limited (though you can often snag some top tier films for $2-5). The DVD collections can be pretty extensive though. They can’t give those things away as quickly as they’re being donated.

I had to check to make sure I wasn't crazy. I skimmed through my Blu-ray. The scene about the Nordic dudes was still there. There was no mention of "oral" pleasure which aligns with what I remember from previous watching. They just say e***** pleasure the first time. Maybe you have some weird version on Blu-ray?
18
monty_kurnsMar 26, 2026

I feel like the “oral pleasure” line was in cut/extended scenes on the dvd. They very well could have later made another dvd with that stuff added back in for a cash grab, but definitely don’t remember it from the PG-13 version I saw in theaters.

Wouldn't surprise me if the "Blu-ray" OP is referring to is a torrented version that could be from another market or something. Not throwing any shade, I've sailed the seas many times, but it would be really weird if they spent any extra effort to recut or ADR a somewhat niche movie after the fact unless it was a compliance/regulatory thing.

This is totally off topic, but your post brought back a memory for me.
I was still a child when I first saw Dude Wheres My Car on TV. I was watching it and halfway through TV ads started running. By that time in life I was so fed up with being shown so many ads I had a briliant idea - I will try to find to download this movie from some shady t****** website during the ad and maybe it will be faster this way than waiting for the ads to finish... And it worked. The internet was kind of slow, but fast enough to pull this off. The ads were 12 minutes long if I remember correctly, which is a joke compared to TV ads today which are even longer and shown more often. I will always remember this time I beat the advertisement industry.

I recently rewatched the movie and my favorite joke was changed. The alien women offer them “oral pleasure” in exchange for the continuum transfunctioner. It always cracked me up when he points at his buddy and says “why don’t you give (changes to point at himself) me oral pleasure, then we’ll give you the continuum transfunctioner and then you can give him oral pleasure. For some reason the words oral pleasure combined with the quickness that she agrees to that deal is way funnier than whatever they changed it to. E***** maybe?

Movies like this were recut to be less offensive (happens on some streaming services as well )
Some blu rays have the ability to change the version you are watching. Others such as older movies may just be the cut version ( they also may have had a raunchier version that you had to buy instead )

Yea. Honestly for streaming there is no reason to censor anything They do it because of ad subscriptions (most companies that sell ads don’t like offensive shit ) but Streaming services also shouldn’t have ads so there’s that
A good example is YouTube Every curse word has to be censored because of ad companies which is stupid because most of the ads ran on YouTube are p*** sites, fake dating apps and scam ads

You had me wondering from the post title if the original script (or at least concept of the movie) had a cut out there.
