The tanker was at an UAE port not iranian port. The US blockade is on iranian ports. This is just iran failing to enforce their own blockade on the strait.

Must have had a competent person intervene and help them. Setting it up so the easiest way China gets oil out is to get it from an alternate Gulf state then stiff Iran on the toll is clever.

In the article it very clearly states "Yet it was listed by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control as linked to Iranian shipping."
It only says the vessel was waiting off the coast of the UAE. This are the facts in the article OP linked.
