and true to Egyptian tradition, the kid SIM cards will be even more data limited than the adult ones and connectivity will suck

When you consider how many times Alphabet and Meta have been caught out illegally tracking and lying about not tracking *in countries that try to regulate this*, I can only imagine what they will do in "the rest of the world". On top of that with smartphones in particular the entire concept of privacy in apps is just an honor system, devs are asked to truthfully disclose what they collect and use in their privacy policies and privacy labels but the platforms, while profiting billions annually, don't check any of it. Just last year Apple and Google had to make abrupt changes because apps like Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans were caught claiming to be suitable for all ages while their privacy policies restricted users to 13+ so they could collect data and advertise indiscriminately.

Yeah but at least Meta is not leaking if you are on Grindr directly to the f****** Police, this fuckers did a sting/gay operation a few years ago and the BBC reported that was some really nasty shit the cops did

They've dabbled in stuff like that, stealing period cycle data that directly endangers women in many locations in the US: > A California jury ruled Friday that Meta broke state privacy laws by collecting data from the popular period-tracking app Flo, including private health data and pregnancy goals. The case claimed that, among other actions, Meta used the data to create targeted advertising content. https://www.cnet.com/health/medical/jury-decides-meta-stole-data-from-users-of-period-tracking-app-what-to-do-if-youre-worried/
