Love Martin, but for me at least, this is Jason Segel's year. He's outstanding in S3 of Shrinking. And on this subject, I'll riot if Harrison Ford doesn't win for Supporting Actor in Comedy

While I enjoy the show, I don't see his acting this past season as demonstrably better than any of the other seasons. He arguably had the least focus of the three main characters in S5 (as opposed to S3 / *Death Rattle*, when he was front-and-center). Plus having Steve Martin in the same category is always going to split the vote.

I am not saying it the only reason but with his daughter having just passed away there is a lot of support and goodwill for him within the industry right now which might be enough to push him over the top. It's cynical but that stuff does tend to happen. Michael C. Hall didn't win SAG or the GG until it was announced he was battling cancer. I stopped watching the show a few years back, just not my cup, but I do think he was the better of the two leads in what I did see previously.

Steve Martin was not nominated last year and might not be nominated again this year. It is a weaker season but his acting still shone in some episodes.

This isn't the final season. It's renewed for season 6 with no indication that that will be the last season either.
