Wait but what are the sanctions? It's not mentioned in the article

Probably just some performative nonsense.

The article doesn't seem to say what the sanctions are. Is it just that goods produced there cannot be sold in the EU.

They should sanction Israel until they pull back to their originally agreed borders.

The problem is that the agreed borders mean that Israel has security control in Area B, and the hilltop youth terrorists (not going to call them settlers) take advantage of that. They should be left to Palestinian justice, but they skirt the line. Sanctions on these groups are deserved but definitely not enough.

I mean the original 1948 borders.

Good. One of the first things trump did once elected again was to remove the sanctions that Biden put into place > U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday rescinded sanctions imposed by the former Biden administration on far-right Israeli settler groups and individuals accused of being involved in violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, the new White House website said. >The website said Trump rescinded Executive Order 14115 issued on Feb. 1, 2024, which authorized the imposition of certain sanctions "on Persons Undermining Peace, Security, and Stability in the West Bank. [https://www.reuters.com/world/trump-cancels-sanctions-far-right-israeli-settlers-occupied-west-bank-2025-01-21/](https://www.reuters.com/world/trump-cancels-sanctions-far-right-israeli-settlers-occupied-west-bank-2025-01-21/) I will never forgive the "protest" voters and non voters for paving a way for this insanity.

Liberals in general focus to much on ideological purity rather than reality

They're not liberal. They're leftists that have attached themselves like a cancer to the Democratic Party. Democrats unfortunately don't have the balls to take a stand and kick these losers out. Oh well.

leftists simultaneously lost the election and should be kicked out of the party because you don’t need their votes? Pick a struggle.

Dems, especially the leadership, are deeply conservative. With the classic von Papen attitude.

> Democrats unfortunately don't have the balls American democrats by definition don't have balls, they sold them a long time ago for a few bucks

I'd add "smug" to that list but yeah basically.

The dems brought it on themselves when they decided to go with another run of the mill, Israel first, corporate loving candidate for the 100th time. For as much as you hate Trump, he has shaped the entire government to his will, while Biden couldn’t even get f****** student loan forgiveness pushed through. A weak party with non-stop weak candidates, they honestly need a purge and reset to ever be viable again.

Most of your country didn't vote. Its a cultural issue that can be blamed on dems bad.

Trump isn't a strong candidate, everyone just was so power hungry they played along for obvious kickbacks. He does know how to appeal to the lowest common denominator and damn are they loyal I'll give him that.

Dude Trump has "bent the government to his will" by being a shitty person, breaking laws and policies, and firing every person who opposes him. Republicans in congress are enabling his every move. Like, I voted Democrat and will again. But we dont *want* a person like this in office. We want someone who actually respects laws, and policies, and norms, and *people*. Please dont use Trumps corruption as some kind of indicator of strength. Its not; its literally just corruption.

Bidens sanctions on settlers were an absolute joke (As are these EU ones). Despite pleading from over a 100 Democratic representatives and several people in his own cabinet he only put sanctions on 4 (**four**) settlers. There was talk about sanctioning Ben-Gvir and Smotrich too but Biden had them removed from the list after the ambassador to Israel "persuaded" (i.e lobbied) him that doing so would "harm the relationship with Israel for little gain" (As if it's was not morally and legally just on its own). His sanctions were farcical attempts to brush over the fact that he was doing nothing against Israels actions in the West Bank or Gaza.

Some people(?) were saying as a gotcha for Kamala losing because she wasn't pro-Palestinian enough. As in, "you should have listened to prop Palestinians talking, and you wouldn't have lost because we would have voted for you".

I mean even as a dude who served with the Israelis… it’s justified. It pains me to say it but this absolutely cannot continue

Good. These people are counter productive to the peace process. Not to the same degree as the Palestine’s dual governments and the UN but a barrier nonetheless.

Good. I support Israel's right to exist but these settlers are a menace.

Will the Palestinians get sanctioned for supporting Oct 7?, and giving terrorists pensions? Or they will receive more 'aid'?
-25
Scagnettio 1 day ago +8
You are right, let's be real and give both these parties the same sanctions. Let's check which one of these gets the most sanctions, trade restrictions etc. and make sure that it is also applied on the other actors. No more weapons for Israel, no more trade, tech or knowledge sharing. Let's at the most allow Doctors Without Borders to put some tents down.

I unfortunately think the democrats will run either a weak candidate or a far left candidate that can’t win.
