Erdogan is the crisis. Or at least one of them. He should retire somewhere nice like North Korea.

He has been in power for too long. It's time to give the position to someone younger, who has a new perspective on things.

There is a brilliant notion that a special island should be set up for all the evil dictators to retire to.

I have only one thing to say to the grand turkey of Turkey: Gobble gobble!
He has never been interested in the safety of EU, and is in the same category as Orban.

True, and Eu is not interested in Turkey if he does not want to fill the requirements . plus, they are far from EU culture, so i think they will never join. For Defense/army, a pact can be made with us without joining Eu,it's what i think with humility, from France.

Well, Turkey is already a part of NATO along with several of the EU-countries. NATO has not much with EU to do and if Turkey wants to join EU they have a tremendous lot of work to do ahead of them before they meet the criteria for a membership.

Yes, in my head they can't join at all, i dont know why he is aiming Eu. Maybe he wants to seduce his electorat.
Edit. This president of Turkey has already made demands to join Eu by the past (i write that for people didnt know) . no chance turkey will join anyway, they are not fried of Eu culture, the only countries i know who could build somthing with us, are the comonwealth countries australia and canada, they have their own identity, near Eu constitution, and maybe i dont think about some other countries because i am humble person. And who knows, maybe one day EU system will have to change his name. That s saide Defense of Eu, remember what De Gaulle said about US, and thanksfully to him we are not dependant
. So good to be visionary

He wants the money from EU and all the other benefits a EU membership will give.

If Turkey one day will meet the criteria of the EU I don’t see any problem. But I don’t think that will ever happen with Erdogan in power.

It’s great that Erdoğan has decided that the English name for his country is now something that contains letters not in English. At least he didn’t dictate changing the Danish name, so I’m good with Tyrkiet still.
(Edit: we all know from über and führer that English speakers can’t pronounce this letter, in German at least, and apparently think the dots are optional and it’s just a u.)

As long as Turkey isn’t the crisis itself…yeah, we can just fine. We just got rid of the russky dickrider VO, guess who’s next (inshallah).
