Tbh this direction is the correct direction. I know this has been a highschool drama in its totality, but if I watched another season, years later, and they were still in the same exact place they were, despite all the changes that would have to be made due to real life things, I wouldn’t have bought it at all. I loved the first seasons, but there’s zero chance I could suspend disbelief that these are still highschool kids, even if it was already a stretch. For me it’s either go in a different direction story wise or don’t bother with a new season at all. I would have settled for a written epilogue that just sort of summarizes what happens to each character, f****** 80s style.

Even if there's the chance it ends up going off the rails, from the looks of this trailer, I think I could enjoy this season in a guilty pleasure way since the whole cast seems to be embracing how over the top it is

She knows exactly how to play an addict. Fully deserved those emmys, it was crazy how she acted just like my POS drug addict family members

I know a lot of people don't like the teen drama aspects of the show but it's unfortunate when people d******* the whole thing because of it. Rue's addiction storyline is some of the best television I have seen. The special episodes about rue and jules are written incredibly well. The cinematography is also quite special and honestly got even better in season 2.

Waiting for her to win an Oscar. She definitely has the talent, just needs the right role to come along

I think her greatest moment in terms of range and acting skill reveal hasn't been any of her BIG freakouts or breakdowns. It's the Frank Sinatra scene. We see her dancing and lip-syncing, and it's the Zendaya we know: confident, athletic, s***, good-humored, completely alive. And then, suddenly, the bubble bursts and she collapses into feral junkie Rue instantly. The juxtaposition of those two different personas is brutal.

YEP. That *one* episode is the one I say “holy shit, that’s when I found out Zendaya had some serious acting chops”. She’s genuinely insanely skilled.

Euphoria has god tier acting and directing. If Sam Levinson didn't have an ego the size of California and got the f*** out of the writer's room it'd be in contention for GOAT show

I just watched s1 for the first time and was blown away. Now I need to start 2 tonight it seems

I say it a lot but *that* episode is this shows Ozymandias. Lots of plotlines that have been heating up come to a boil in a relentless episode

I've seen people say she can't act but it only takes an episode of euphoria to see she is incredible.

Same. She f****** ate with the first two seasons. The episode in Season 2 when she's just running around town after her mom tries to take her to rehab gave me legit anxiety for an hour.

Her acting in the trailer worrying me a bit she's reverting too much into her Disney stuff which I don't blame her the plot looks ridiculous

Zero faith in Sam Levinson at this point, especially since The Idol. So this looking completely different, is not a good sign imo.

It’s too bad she’s not that into acting. She has great comedic timing and was terrific in her skit in Fantasmas.

First season was amazing, second is up and down and I get the sense the showrunners don’t have a great idea for what direction to bring the show in

It’s genuinely good and relevant, worth watching. I’m not even into teenage drama type shows but this one is raw and well done.

It's good, tbh. I know it gets some flak but to be frank, it does a phenomenal job with addiction, identity crises, complex relationships and character writing. The acting is also top notch. This newest season looks to be a turn into a somewhat new direction, so don't expect the first two to follow the same kind of escalated vibe, but season 2 was definitely turning up the tension to a breaking point, so I actually think season 3 is exactly where the show needed to lead.

I figured it would get made at some point, if only because Zendaya, Sweeney, and Elordi are all now A-Lister movie stars, and Colman Domingo blew up in the 2020s even if he isn't an A-List level name. Shit, the extended cast includes Austin Abrams, Maude Apatow, and Eric Dane (RIP). HBO would have been insane not to try to cash in on them if they are under contract for another season

The storylines are absurd but the acting is good for the most part. Zendaya is fantastic throughout

First season is good Second season kind of lost me. Too much style too little substance

Its...something. First few episodes are interesting but then gets more and more soap opera-y as time goes on. Fully expect this season to be way over the top, which isn't necessarily bad, just not what you're expecting after watching the first couple episodes

it's amazing, also beautiful music and cinemetogrophy. Jacob Elordi plays a really good villian, I am always tense when he is on screen

Euphoria is popular on this sub. People on this sub hate shows targeted to women like Wednesday or shows with POC like Squid Game but Euphoria objectifies women, has lots of sex scenes involving characters who are underage girls and appeals to men. Look at the posts on this discussion. Almost all the posts are positive.

I think it depends on how you define it. Blockbuster success and general fame? Z. Sex symbol with some unqualified hits? Sydney Sweeney. Prestige? Elordi, sealing it with the Oscar nom.  If I had to pick, I’d say Zendaya but I’m just biased and she was already the biggest star at that time. So maybe it’s who jumped the most, and maybe I’ll say Elordi for that. 

You are describing a completely different show, which would have had to been written very differently. The whole thing hinges on them being high school for the first 2 seasons.

This is a realistic career progression for most of them though. The Drug addict becomes a drug courier. The bimbo becomes a trophy wife doing OF on the side. The theatre kid starts working in a production company.
