ikr; omg the last 4 years were a proxy war. Now our sundowning president is manipulated into starting one to reveal the cards we're holding and weaknesses in a run up to Taiwan coordinated with a run on another eastern block when our stores are at their lowest. Shocked, I'm shocked I tell you.

Uncle_Hephaestus Mar 28, 2026 +2
I would be more shocked if they weren't helping Iran.

joshuads Mar 28, 2026 +4
I think it is mildly surprising that they are not keeping everything they manufacture for Ukraine. Everyone they send to Iran is one less that can be used in Ukraine. It is an interesting signal that Russia is either more interested in propping up Iran as an ally or directly targeting the American interests than trying to win in Ukraine.

I'm actually a little surprised, because Iran is supplying drones to Russia. Or at least the Shahed parts, which Russia assembles domestically.

The least surprising plot twist in global politics.

Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +22
Yea, international intelligence agencies believe the US *might* .. be supplying Israel with Military Kit. Shock! Horror!! ..

MonoBlancoATX Mar 27, 2026 +43
Today in No Shit News. Russia and Iran have been trading drones and drone tech at least since 2022 when Russia invaded eastern Ukraine.

HonestBalloon Mar 27, 2026 +12
As well, both Ukraine and the US later stole Iran's Shahed design for their own drone programmes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-cost_Uncrewed_Combat_Attack_System The Low-cost Uncrewed (Unmanned) Combat Attack System (LUCAS) is a one-way attack drone[4] developed for the United States Armed Forces by U.S. defense contractor SpektreWorks. It utilizes technology developed from the reverse engineering of the Iranian-designed HESA Shahed 136 The US literally admits this themselves lol
12
mightygilgamesh Mar 27, 2026 +13
Even China has a shahed inspired drone, the ASN-301.
13
morbihann Mar 27, 2026 +8
You dont need to steal anything. It is incredibly basic flying bomb.
8
HonestBalloon Mar 27, 2026 +3
Well, there is actually a bit of nuisance, like a missile is also a "flying bomb" but a drone is not a missile lol. LUCUS, built by the US, has a smaller warhead but is lighter and likely to be able to travel further distances. Geran has a better communication system, and it's this exact part that is now showing up on Shahed.

justinballsonya Mar 27, 2026 +1
The Ukrainian version has proven to be tactically superior and is similar and cheaper than any version of the Shaheds. The U.S.'s version is also better it seems. It's actually most of what the U.S. is using in Iran currently, at least numbers wise. It's crazy how effective a weapon it is for how c**** it costs. Can kill a lot more people. The good news is it has also minimized civilian casualties.
1
HonestBalloon Mar 28, 2026 +1
Well, the US version is still considerably more expensive than the others, but I would also say that tactically, it really depends on the battlefield as well. There is no battlefront in Iran (at the moment) like there is in Ukraine, and during the Ukraine War jamming and detection has become much more important, hence why we've seen the use of fibre optic drones. We've also seen repeater drone (drones which only purpose to relay signals onto other drones), it's a far more fluid and ever changing situation. Don't hate me now, but you can't really say 'superior' given the area Russia has captured as well (that's just true). Geren, just by number of use alone, is probably the most effective. Russia is also definitely ahead in drone production, and that also really, really matters. In the Iran War, the use of drones is spread over a much wider area, fibre optics just isn't feasible, although it's been discussed in relation to Kharg Island. As both Isreal and Iran have shown, the actual movement of systems and mass launching has been quite important in the ME. There's so much to discuss about drones and their use. They have evolved so much over the last four years already, and I so much more is to come.

Better to see them used against Israeli and American invaders than against innocent Ukrainians.

I heard someone say, most of your are more anti-america than anti-war, and these comments are really starting to show.

speculatrix Mar 28, 2026 +2
Right now, if you're anti-war then you have to be anti-USA First Venezuela, then Iran. Next is Cuba? Or Greenland?

F*** Putin and all but come on we supply weapons to Ukraine of course Russia is going to do the same to our enemies.
15
BrandenWi Mar 27, 2026 +6
Why wouldn't they? It's in Russia's interest to make our quagmire in Iran as deep and messy as possible.

morbihann Mar 27, 2026 +3
Not our war agent Orange.

lLikeCats Mar 27, 2026 +3
I mean why wouldn’t they? Free research. We all know the US will pick up their toys and call it a day sooner or later. They can’t afford a ground invasion of Iran.
3
Idainaru_Yokubo Mar 27, 2026 +4
wasn't it the other way around are there enough drones for both the Ukraine and Middle east conflict
4
PeterTheWolf76 Mar 27, 2026 +4
Sadly, some types of drones are c**** and easy to make so plenty to go around.

gplfalt Mar 27, 2026 +1
Russia has been ramping up it's own Shaheed production for a bit.
1
poprostumort Mar 27, 2026 +1
They are c**** and easily mass produced, so it's possible that Russia uses them as an additional source of income to fuel their economy.
1
Ceylein Mar 27, 2026 +1
Kind of... while c**** in the sense of the US's economy, they're not as c**** in poorer countries. The main reason that this is likely happening is actually to try to protract the conflict and ramp up the price of oil to put more pressure on sanctions relief by the US.
1
poprostumort Mar 27, 2026 +1
>Kind of... while c**** in the sense of the US's economy, they're not as c**** in poorer countries. I mean c**** in terms of costs of military equipment in general - they may not be as c**** in a poorer country, but they are still one of best price-to-performance options on the market. War isn't c**** in general. >The main reason that this is likely happening is actually to try to protract the conflict and ramp up the price of oil to put more pressure on sanctions relief by the US. Good point, but I don't think that Russia (or BRICS in general) is supplying anything at cost to themselves - although they definitely can supply them at production cost, as bilateral trade for something they need or on credit.

hgaben90 Mar 27, 2026 +2
I'm not sure who's droning whom anymore.

runitsuka Mar 27, 2026 +2
Wasn't russia using Iranian suicide drones in Ukraine? This just makes sense

United States. gave weapons to every allies and non allies taliban contra
2
Ceylein Mar 27, 2026 +2
Yeah? Also we're likely giving Ukraine targeting data needed to target Russian oil and gas infrastructure right now.
2
Embarrassed-Dust718 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Maybe we shouldn’t reward Putin with no sanctions tho

tha would be shocking

I wonder if this is enough to break up Trump's bromance with Vlad.
2
cannot_walk_barefoot Mar 27, 2026 +4
Haven't they lifted sanctions on both Russian and Iranian oil. So they're making a shit ton of money but also making missiles to kill your soliders and infrastructure in the area. I don't understand geopolitics. Neither do Trump or his handlers though
4
Embarrassed-Dust718 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Trump but let’s be real Israel main complaint for the Obama Iran deal was that since the sanctions are lifted on Iran they’ll have more $ to fund terrorist ground but here we are trump lifted sanctions on Iran. LMAOO

Little_Badger_13 Mar 27, 2026 +1
This just reminded me of that photo where Trump is very exitedly holding up a picture of his meeting with Putin. Like a fanboy who just met his greatest idol. I don't think anything can break their bromance.

Bro, don't reveal the scheme

WasteBinStuff Mar 27, 2026 +1
Small town woodchuck tavern current events bullshit consulting agency has reliably predicted Russia is supplying drones to Iran for 4 weeks now. A little bureaucratic inertia going on in the "intelligence" world if you ask me.
1
Artistic-Wolverine-6 Mar 27, 2026 +1
But in other news oil prices have risen! F*** Trump, F*** Putin and F*** Iran!
1
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +1
Of course they are. Iran has friends in low places but instead of the whiskey drowns the blues they are about to make the world have the blues. They are a small nation with a lot of power. They are exercising it and will do worse the more we attack. I don't support the regime, but I do support the world and its ability to keep up with progress. This is a tragedy beyond modern comparison.

so country with military pact exchange weapons.. what a crime...
1
JustYerAverage Mar 27, 2026 +1
No WAY! Russia would NOT do THAT!
1
Embarrassed-Dust718 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Russias get: rid of sanctions on Russian oil so theoretically oil prices stay down. The u.s gets: higher prices on oil, more attacks from Iran using Russian drones and intel. Art of the deal!
1
antifragile Mar 28, 2026 +1
Shrodinghers drones Iran is supplying Russia while Russia is supplying Iran depending on who the audience is.
1
mytoemytoe Mar 27, 2026 +1
And Trump says “thank you Mr Putin May I please have some more”
1
Doctorstrange223 Mar 27, 2026
The ones saying this all happen to conveniently be against the US & Russia. It is not me even defending Trump but if it was true then someone in his administration would admit it but nobody is and nobody confirms it nor do the Russians. In the recent Senate intelligence meeting nobody took this serious and nobody said it is true. It is clearly annomyous sources made up etc and the pro Ukraine crowd putting it out there to try to get Trump to their side.
