This is the second time the music icon has filed for conservatorship of the 49-year-old’s estate.

What a shame. He’s a pretty talented musician. Hope he gets the care he needs.

Agreed the guy was very talented. He’s had a lot of substance issues over the decades. Rooting for him and his treatment.

It was awful then, and it’s awful now.

Only his estate and not his person?

According to the article, he's currently locked in a psychiatric hospital awaiting restoration of his capacity so that he can stand trial on a string of criminal charges ... which is to say, I think the state is taking care of the person.

She also tried to get a conservatorship but thanks to Free Britney the courts are just willing to watch rich people kill themselves publicly.

Yeah we should just let Britney's father and mother abuse her some more. You aren't very intelligent at all.

Her parents didn't abuse her they saved her from bankruptcy. You would be seeing Britney doing her little dance act on street corners and convenient stores instead of her mansion if she had her way.

She tried this before and was denied

The difference is she's askign to appoint a non-family member. But last time, I thought she had more support from his half-siblings. This time it seems only one has filed in support.

Good luck Cher and good luck Elijah. It sounds like it needs to happen in order for him to be able to begin to turn it around and live a clean & sober life.

According to Cher, Allman “has no concept of money, is unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence” because of his “severe mental health and addiction issues.” Tie him to the whipping post

Some of the comments on the article are terrible, saying nasty things about Cher for no reason.

Just because Britney's conservatorship wasn't warranted doesn't mean none of them are

If anyone needs to be under a conservatorship, it's Britney...maybe her father was not the best choice, but clearly someone needs to look out for her. I believe that Elijah could benefit from this option-- drug & alcohol addiction, mental health struggles along with unlimited amounts of cash & a side of fame...that is a lot to maintain especially when you're around people who don't have your best interests at heart.

He doesn't have unlimited cash. The article says he gets 120k a year from his father's trust and that's his sole income. That's a lot of money but an amount that could be very quickly squandered on drugs if he's as unwell as claimed
