That's the whole logic of why the US wants no resolution to the conflict in Ukraine: the longer Russia stays there, neither advancing nor facing a sound defeat, the better for the United States. Russia wastes years of resources and becomes ever more isolated from their natural trading partners, Europe.
Different administrations will dress this in different clothes for their respective audiences, and each party will attack the other over it, but that is where the United States' interests lie.

The United States is the world's largest arms exporter, transferring major weapons to over 100 nations between 2020 and 2024. Key recipients include Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Japan, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Israel. So if a transfer happened, it happened an year ago. It sounds like the source ain’t sure. “Almost certainly“ does not inspire confidence in accuracy. So you think a tech transfer happened but can’t tell if included type of equipment, training, timing or if still ongoing. So how is this freaking news?!? An year ago we (USA) haven’t even bombed Iran the 1st time let alone this current war… oh sorry military excursion.
Source is assuming the tech transfer is still happening?!? If you’re accusing at this level, you better have some evidence other than “feelings”
So scraped from investment.com for the Reuters news:
Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) (https://www.investing.com/equities/smic)(HK:0981) has supplied chipmaking tools to Iran’s military, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing two senior officials in the Donald Trump administration.
The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that SMIC began shipping the equipment about a year ago and that there was no indication the transfers had ceased.
One official added the cooperation “almost certainly included technical training” on semiconductor technology.
Reuters reported that it was unclear whether the tools contained U.S.-origin components, which could make the shipments a violation of U.S. sanctions on Iran.
SMIC, China’s largest chipmaker, has been under U.S. restrictions since 2020 over alleged links to the Chinese military, which the company denies. Beijing has said it conducts normal trade with Iran.
The allegations come as China has urged peace talks, with Foreign Minister Wang Yi calling for dialogue, while avoiding taking sides in the conflict, the report added.

SMIC is obviously not as advanced as TSMC but they can still do everything from 350 nm to 7 nm (and always working on smaller nodes, I'm sure.) In any case they have more than enough expertise to manufacture c**** chipsets for expendable drones, and the software can then be supplied by just about any defense company.
