But not a single indictment of anyone in the Epstein files

noname999999 Apr 30, 2026 +129
Haven't you heard? The Iran distraction worked. Nobody cares about the Epstein files anymore
129
KranPolo Apr 30, 2026 +45
The “Iran distraction” is going to end up killing millions after the price increases on petroleum products like fertilizer really start hitting

Yeah but c'mon, I bet you've never posted a picture of seashells before.  That is seriously dangerous and concerning stuff!

Maxwell got imprisoned...but they are looking to pardon her.

1. That was before the Epstein files transparency act. 2. Her prison is barely a prison

I hope they have more than a picture of some shells in the sand… /s

So is there any more to the story than his posting 86 47?

Wander_Whale Apr 30, 2026 +1055
https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/federal-grand-jury-indicts-former-fbi-director-james-comey-threats-harm-president-trump You can read the indictment. Its only like 3 pages. The only thing they cite to is the sea shells. Yes it's that stupid.
1055
Turkino Apr 30, 2026 +264
That is never going to stand up to a first amendment defense. And 86 is such a common term for getting rid of something but I've never heard of it being used in the context of killing someone.
264
pinhole_burns Apr 30, 2026 +119
Years ago, I owned a restaurant - we had, on the menu, a burger named the "86 Burger". It went on to say that "We are currently out of this burger".
119
j_la Apr 30, 2026 +57
If this ever gets in front of a jury (it shouldn’t), the defense should just enter into evidence a wild array of ways that people use 86.
57
private_developer Apr 30, 2026 +43
There is a season of Vanderpump Rules where all the restaurant staff is like "oh she's 86ed, she is not allowed back in here," and they're all throwing around 86 left and right. Vanderpump Rules. *Vanderpump f****** Rules.* Yet now our government wants to pretend it's some kind of death threat? Just make the jurors watch that show to really highlight the sheer stupidity of all this.
43
aceofspades1217 Apr 30, 2026 +11
Yeah 86 typically means banned, trespassed, or removed when referring to a person I’ve literally never heard of someone referring to 86 as killing even movies barely so that like I’m sure it’s been used but if it was it’s used as code since it typically has a more benign meaning
11
BasvanS Apr 30, 2026 +5
You haven’t heard of it, but are you a hugely insecure person currently trying to distract from being mentioned in some pretty incriminating files?

“You can beat the rap but you can’t beat the ride.” That it’s obviously defeatable _is the point_.
32
sky_high_pie Apr 30, 2026 +13
Even using that false definition it's still legal speech. *Watts v. United States* held that threats have to be specific. The specific language they upheld was about shooting the President. This case is going to be dismissed quickly.
13
Standard_Island546 Apr 30, 2026 +5
How did it even stand up to a grand jury?
5
Aazadan Apr 30, 2026 +3
It is extremely hard to not get through a grand jury, that's why it was so notable that Alina Habba messed up so bad that things didn't.

The caselaw on this is so basic theres a chance a judge just yeets it for lack of a crime.
209
Wander_Whale Apr 30, 2026 +162
I don't think they really care tbh, they will claim an "activist judge" tossed a clear threat out. They just want to punish Comey by forcing him to spend money and time. It gives the illusion of wrongdoing which is enough to blur reality for the maga base.
162
Sharpopotamus Apr 30, 2026 +25
The judge is a Trump appointee…
25
PaidUSA Apr 30, 2026 +38
Yea but this would criminalize like the most basic of speech. Depends on when the judge was appointed at this point tbh. Trump himself would be guilty of this crime on his twitter.
38
Carribean-Diver Apr 30, 2026 +61
He is. On his TS account he posted a picture of a pickup truck depicting Biden bound and gagged in the bed with a flag that said 86 46.

Ah, but presidential immunity with vague mumble mumbles about the fact that he wasn't president at the time.

Trump owns the supreme court and the DOJ, we already know the law can't touch him.
7
BeTheBall- Apr 30, 2026 +6
That's part of the point. They want to criminalize basic speech that mocks/insults them.
6
JazzyJockJeffcoat Apr 30, 2026 +26
There's probably a line around the block of great attorneys who would take this case for free. It's not every day they get to yeet the DOJ.
26
Malfeitor1 Apr 30, 2026 +38
That took a year of investigation huh 🤔

There's a very high likelihood that Bondi got axed because she refused to bring this charge against Comey. That should tell you something.

CaptainPunisher Apr 30, 2026 +17
It seems they've never been around a bar or restaurant. It submit means "get rid of," "cancel," or "remove." Also, "ban" as in the case of an unwanted patron. "86 steak. That table just got the last one."
17
ShutterBun Apr 30, 2026 +7
They keep using the word “reasonable”. I do not think it means what they think it means.

Wait. . . Sea shells? I thought the mention of shells would be like. . . Shell casings to go with the threat. But sea shells???
41

Not just sea shells on the beach but ones he didnt even put there. He posted a picture of sea shells that someone else had put down and happened across on vacation. Thats it. Thats the whole crime.

He certainly made this monster, and then it turned on him.

Seeing him being sanctimonious and subtweeting stupid Bible verses while being cheered by supposed progressives made me lose my mind. He presents himself as a good-guy martyr when he's spent his whole life as a willing participant in the system that gave Trump power.
20

I wouldn’t consider criticizing this indictment the same as cheering him on (though, I’m sure there are some who do)

the piles of 8646 merchandise that was floating all around the MAGASphere for 4 years up to the last election, does that count?
115
Consistent-Throat130 Apr 30, 2026 +16
It's malicious prosecution, and I suspect they know it won't stick.  I'd even go so far as to say they don't want it to stick and set precedent for all the 8646 stuff. Another case of "the process is the punishment" aka "you can beat the RAP but not the ride".

kylehatesyou Apr 30, 2026 +328
Yeah, this is just the Trump administration being dicks and trying to make two scoops Donnie happy. He's f****** president, he's a billionaire, he won. Comey is essentially a nobody now, but he said some mean things once, and Trump can't let anything go, ever, because he's such a petulant child.  Like I know it seems more sinister than that, like a way to shut political rivals up, or whatever, but it's not, at least not to Trump. The Donald is really just such a pathetic, insecure t**** baby that he's directing the Justice Department (that has infinitely more important things to prosecute) to go after a guy that took a picture of a meme on a beach that means to get Trump out, his FCC to go after a guy that said his trophy wife is just waiting for him to die, and who knows how many other departments to go after other people that have done nothing but call him the baby he is.  A real man wouldn't care. They f****** won. They'd laugh and shove that in your face at worst. But Trump's not a real man. He's a f****** baby, and so is everyone that still loves him, and thinks he's strong for pulling these kinds of stunts. F****** babies, the lot of them.

baltinerdist Apr 30, 2026 +42
Except, for whatever small amount of cold comfort this provides, he hasn’t won. Everyone hates him. Everyone. Every member of his family, his cabinet, his administration, Congress, everyone. And in the moments of lucidity between dementia fade outs, he likely has sharp seconds of clarity where he realizes yet again, everyone hates him. He couldn’t buy anyone’s love, no matter how hard he tried. He can buy their time, he can buy their worship, he can buy their bodies, but he can’t buy legitimate love. He knows that the people that idolize him are so, so far beneath him that he couldn’t possibly consider that real love. So the praise and accolades and macaroni pictures on the fridge are just pity and platitude, as ephemeral as could ever be. He knows they’ll abandon him the moment he turns his back on them. He has no loyalty in his life. And his own goddamned secret service couldn’t care if he lives or dies. He knows he didn’t earn anything he has today. He knows he is the worst president in history. He knows that the black man that preceded him is a thousand times better in every way and every action that he could possibly take to try to cement his legacy is just a testament to that. He wants his name on buildings and his picture on passports because he knows the world will celebrate the moment the push notification hits our phones. Every mention of his name for the next hundred years will be in paragraphs listing atrocities, detailing horrible things we as a nation did, listing out exemplars of dictators and fascists and incompetent weaklings. All he has left is rage and revenge. He’s picking at scabs and making them bleed because it’s the only thing he can feel. He’s not going to feel happiness another day in his life. He’s not going to feel love. Every hug from his children comes with a check they hope he cashes very soon and then they’ll never have to smell his rancid rot, figuratively or literally, ever again.
42
Mockchoi1 Apr 30, 2026 +23
That’s how you or I or any healthy person would feel, but I doubt he it’s how he feels. I think he’s happy as hell, legit thinks he’s the smartest person on the planet, and that everyone loves him, envies him, and wants to be him. Malignant narcissism and psychopathy in a nutshell.
23
DetectiveFreakachu Apr 30, 2026 +11
This is (unfortunately) pure cope. He has spent his life doing anything he wants, to anyone he wants, with no consequences. Despite a lifetime of perpetuating scam after scam and endless sex crimes, he will die a multi-billionaire who against all reason became the most powerful person in the world two times over. He single-handedly bent the world's reality and watched it conform to fit his, over and over. So many leaders across the kissed his ring(s) and buttered his biscuits. He has an army of sycophants ready to attend to him day and night. He is a sadist with no capacity for empathy. It's not insecurity and self-loathing, it's vanity and entitlement. One of the biggest tragedies in life is that most of the bullies, assholes, bigots, and psychos do die winning, having never faced any consequences, rather having been richly rewarded at every step and with a massive ego borne from a lifetime of succeds despite being a massive POS. Even when they're not actively winning, their childlike lack of self awareness and preponderance of narcissism keeps them perpetually in a victim / martyr / lone voice of reason role that prevents them from taking responsibility or growing in any way and they die bewildered at best
11
blainehamilton Apr 30, 2026 +6
Thankfully Dumpster Fire Donald won't be able to take any of those billions, fake and second hand awards with him when he is 86ed from the earth soon due to natural causes. However, his vindictiveness, mean spirits and closet full of skeletons will accompany him straight to hell.

The SS has an obligation to check out potential threats, and figure out how valid the person is or even the intent.  If Pedo Trump can tell a mob if people outside Congress to go fight Congress and they invade Congress and Pedo Trump faces no consequences then Comey can say whatever the f*** he wants.  All this does is give legal precedent for people to say the same thing Comey did without repercussions. Because a judge is going to throw it out. Also I hate Comey. He broke DOJ and FBI policy and disclosed a investigation that uncovered nothing in order to Sandbag Clinton who was the presumptive nominee. If hed just kept his mouth shut or revealed Pedo Trump Ties to Russia he literally wouldn't be in this position. He chose party politics over the constitution and rule of law so f*** him.

He’s always been a misogynistic political hack. Martha Stewart anyone??? And before you remind me that the First Amendment protects all citizens, I’ve already thought of that and agree with you. 86 literally removes remove, get rid, bounce all my life ... like 86 this guy at a bar does not mean kill that person, it means remove that person from the bar ... or 86 this order is like get rid of it and not call for assassination of the order. Am I taking crazy pills?
15
Sweet-Lady-H Apr 30, 2026 +5
Not crazy, that’s how pretty much everyone interprets that phrase. Like if you get kicked out of a bar and then blacklisted with your ID behind the bar so you can’t go in again is “getting 86’ed.”
5
trevorthewebdev Apr 30, 2026 +3
As a millennial, that's the only way I heard that phrase. Like this dude is too drunk or is causing a problem, 86 them, which is get them out of this area we are in. It would be banana pants crazy if the bartender says to 86 this guy ... and then on his order all of a sudden, a cook comes out and is like ok we need to literally assassinate him so I will pull out a gun and shoot him to death. Like even typing that is nuts.

Your honor, I've worked over two decades in the service industry, I know the language, and this is dumb
12
CaptainPunisher Apr 30, 2026 +3
I grew up as a mechanic, and, in reference to ignition timing, this administration is the opposite of advanced.

I'd feel sorry for Comey for all this bullshit he has to deal with if it wasn't for the fact that he played a pivotal role in getting Trump elected in the first place.
13
SquilliamFancySon97- Apr 30, 2026 +13
Just remember, while Todd Blanche may be a subservient little b**** for Donald Trump, he isn't an idiot. He probably knows this won't win but that's not the point, it's to inconvenience Comey, it's to throw his name in the dirt and embarrass him and financially harm him. I don't think it's supposed to succeed, it's just supposed to hurt him.
13
PigFarmer1 Apr 30, 2026 +7
It continues the endless vendettas.
7
ynotoggel19 Apr 30, 2026 +38
Just when you think Trump's hit rock bottom he keeps digging
38
I_AM_A_GUY_AMA Apr 30, 2026 +12
He's the whiniest b**** to ever walk the earth.
12
reddituseronebillion Apr 30, 2026 +3
What will be his Balrog? When will MAGA finally say he's dug too deep? Because it wasn't all the terrible shit.
3
WideConsequence2144 Apr 30, 2026 +11
Wow so there’s only one interpretation for “get rid of” now?
11
BrooksWasHere1 Apr 30, 2026 +8
AFAIK 86 means kick you out. Not kill you. Otherwise, I might have been killed a couple times in my 20's...
8
MisterProfGuy Apr 30, 2026 +26
In a legal sense, he might have surrendered himself, but I guarantee you that he not considered actually surrendering. And I don't even like his decisions all that much.
26
SteroidAccount Apr 30, 2026 +27
He “surrendered” so these lunatics can’t catch him out and perp walk him in front of cameras.
27
Malforus Apr 30, 2026 +8
Or shoot him after he "resists"
8
TotallyNotaTossIt Apr 30, 2026 +17
What’s the charge for a president who threatens to destroy an entire civilization on social media?
17
Dandycorn Apr 30, 2026 +13
No charge, he just wins a few made-up peace prizes.
13
No-Cicada-4651 Apr 30, 2026 +9
Since when does “86” mean, to kill? I think most people see that as “ get the heck out of here”.
9
badwolf1013 Apr 30, 2026 +9
I feel like I'm going crazy. As far as I'm aware, "86" means to kick someone out of a place, not assassinate them.
9
r0botdevil Apr 30, 2026 +9
I wonder if Comey regrets everything he did to put/keep Trump in power now? This should be a cautionary tale to anyone currently serving him, but it seems likely that they're all too stupid to realize that.

dancingfordates Apr 30, 2026 +6
I mean we all feel sorry for comey but the guy basically fucked over the nation.
6
Old_Goat_Cyclist Apr 30, 2026 +17
Going to be another humiliation for the US legal system. I am waiting for someone to come forward saying "I made that and intended no violent interpretation."
17
night-shark Apr 30, 2026 +8
As a lawyer, I can't FATHOM how embarrassing it would be to stand in front of a judge or jury and present this case. LOL.
8
MercantileReptile Apr 30, 2026 +6
The charges are absolutely baseless. Unless "Donald does not like him" is a crime now. Not that it would be surprising, given the current course. That said, f*** Comey. Bother and nuisance is well deserved. He had to put his thumb on the scale with the investigation press statement 2016. Hope he enjoys the result. Also, all the old fashioned FBI types are staunch republicans and did nothing against the party's most extreme aspects. Not the nutters are in charge. *Enjoy*.
6
twenafeesh Apr 30, 2026 +21
If only Comey hadn't fucked us all over by announcing a fresh (and ultimately fruitless) investigation into Clinton's emails a week before the election. He is reaping what he sewed.
21
birdshapedcamo Apr 30, 2026 +5
trump and maga are so soft
5
HeavyDT Apr 30, 2026 +5
He helped to create this monster so reap what you sow type stuff. I'm pretty sure they know this isn't going far but just want to f*** with him to please Trump. I feel like he should sue the government for vindictive prosecution after this though although I'm not sure how viable that is these days.
5
dledtm Apr 30, 2026 +6
dude Comey is what caused this trump debacle
6
tqlla3k Apr 30, 2026 +4
Comey interfered in the 2016 election. Even if this is unjust, he is reaping what he sowed.
4
ROEdkill820 Apr 30, 2026 +5
All all of trumps tweets are peaceful non threats,.... rules for thee.... etc. Also 86ing something generally means, throw out. Such a bs case. Party of free speech and small gov't.
5
SavageCucmber Apr 30, 2026 +6
The monster that Comey helped create is attacking him. He deserves it.
6
thepianoman456 Apr 30, 2026 +5
If “86 47, aka, get rid of Trump” gets this kind of reaction, then how about the MAGAs who had AI images of Biden bound and gagged on their trucks? Is essentially saying, “get this guy outa here” tantamount to a death threat now? When you “86” someone from a bar, you toss them outside… you don’t f****** *kill them* lol God this whole admin is a bunch of crybullies. Trump is the most thin skinned shit flinger I’ve ever seen hold office in this country.
5
trakrad99 Apr 30, 2026 +3
Even in the corporate world, “86’d” means fired. This is such petty bullshit
3
Spockies May 1, 2026 +3
Let them cook, cause they are only self harming their future defense. If Comey can’t have his First Amendment right, then no one will after.
3
Concisewords May 1, 2026 +5
Allegedly needs to be in headline. He took a photo of seashells on the beach. In no way does that confirm a crime & threat was made. It’s alleged. This was the former fbi director who was very partisan, with the Hillary Clinton statement right before the election…….A lifelong republican, who didn’t hold back his leanings towards Candidate Clinton, giving Candidate Trump a bump in the polls before election….. IRONICALLY now chased by Trump & maga gop, w/ the threat of prison.
5
Photodan24 Apr 30, 2026 +3
This thin-skinned hypocritical overreaction should be laughed out of court.
3
fauxregard Apr 30, 2026 +4
I do wonder if he ever reflects on the time he implicated Hillary Clinton in federal crimes mere days before the 2016 presidential election.
4
evilpenguin9000 Apr 30, 2026 +4
Sure am glad Trump stopped the DOJ from being weaponized. Really hated to see that… /s
4
MoneyTalks45 Apr 30, 2026 +5
Whoever brought the charges deserves to lose their career.
5
aflyingsquanch Apr 30, 2026 +4
How did they even get a grand jury to go for this stupidity?
4
TrueOrPhallus Apr 30, 2026 +4
I wonder if Trump's testing the waters of sicking the justice department on former officials with Comey because even the left wouldn't band together in his defense because it's basically his fault Trump got elected in the first place.
4
Leather_Floor8725 Apr 30, 2026 +3
Even if the charges have zero merit, the time and money it takes to legally defend is devastating. Mango is weaponizing the DOJ.
3
DianaKLaRose Apr 30, 2026 +4
Of course this is utterly stupid, but I can't help enjoying it. It was Comey's maneuvering that  put the madman in office in the first place. Makes sense that he should suffer for it.
4
blainehamilton Apr 30, 2026 +4
The USA, no longer the land of the free, and the White House oval office, no longer the home of the brave.
4
starsky1984 Apr 30, 2026 +4
He deserves to reap what he helped sow, but this other of abuse of power and lawfare should have it's own set of criminal investigation
4
Dowew Apr 30, 2026 +5
I think we can all agree James Comey is a Son of a B****, and also this prosecution is stupid.
5
Life-Sun- Apr 30, 2026 +4
Trumped up bs charges to go after a political rival. The fascist regime is killing innocent people at home and abroad. Bloodthirsty, cartoon villains. The evil idiot president needs to be removed from office. Vote all of his supporters out of Congress in the midterms. Show the world that most Americans are not evil idiots.
4
Painbow_High_And_Bi Apr 30, 2026 +4
The headline sounds like he plead guilty or something, Jesus christ. All he's doing is basically not resisting being charged. Don't worry he's still very much planning to fight this.
4
tdclark23 Apr 30, 2026 +4
So there is no First Amendment for FBI Directors? Keystone Kash had better worry.
4
Novasauce9 Apr 30, 2026 +4
This is the most disgraceful, idiotic, morally repulsive government we’ve ever had. And that’s actually a high bar to clear
4
EagleForty Apr 30, 2026 +40
Get bent Comey! We all know the charges are bullshit, but you deserve it for installing Trump in the first place.
40
CatalyticDragon Apr 30, 2026 +9
* Can't prove he arranged the shells. * Can't prove '86' means to assassinate in this context or even in the wider context. * Can't prove he was aware of these numbers having any special meaning. This will go nowhere and they *know it*. It is just a fear and intimidation tactic from the most corrupt person in the history of American politics. And wow, that's really saying something.
9
ZachMN Apr 30, 2026 +7
Republicanism is fascism.
7
washheightsboy3 Apr 30, 2026 +3
If he is so dangerous, how is it that the FBI just let him stroll around in society for the last year?
3
pajamaperson Apr 30, 2026 +3
I just assumed the local china garden was out of #47 orange chicken.
3
twoton1 Apr 30, 2026 +3
What a crock of shit from the most corrupt and criminal administration in US history. Thanks for nothing SC. Those 6 foul turds.
3
FckPolMods Apr 30, 2026 +3
To be fair, when your administration and party is absolutely incapable of basic governance and your entire policy platform is "destroy the Constitution and break every campaign promise we made around fixing the economy and not entering foreign war quagmires", pointless and frivolous lawsuits do make a fine temporary distraction. Flood the zone, chaos reigns. This is all they've got and we keep falling for it. Stay focused, folks.
3
jacbergey Apr 30, 2026 +3
So they're gonna indict Jack Posobiec any time now right?
3
Mimilito Apr 30, 2026 +3
how ridiculous and awful that this is happening. another tantrum of the fat cheeto .
3
KoriJenkins Apr 30, 2026 +3
Comey will sue them all in a few years for defamation, win, and we taxpayers will probably foot the bill.
3
To-Far-Away-Times Apr 30, 2026 +3
We’re finding out what the new floor is for investigations. Barron, Don Jr., Eric, Melania, etc should have a vested interest in keeping the bar a bit higher.
3
EtherealPheonix Apr 30, 2026 +3
But when are they going to arrest Sally for selling him the sea shells by the sea shore. No point in going after the shell users while the shell sellers are still at large.
3
Matild4 Apr 30, 2026 +3
Some americans still not realizing you live in a fascist dictatorship with no free speech. It's going to get a lot worse.
3
ButtholeMegaphone Apr 30, 2026 +3
Ah so this is gonna be how we find out why the administration pushed to bring back the firing squad federally.
3
IntolerantModerate Apr 30, 2026 +3
He should carry seashells in his pockets at all times....see if they charge him with carrying a deadly weapon
3
HealthyBits Apr 30, 2026 +3
Wow. That has to be the biggest stretch in history. Tin foil hats are leading the case!?
3
TALKTOME0701 Apr 30, 2026 +3
I don't understand. Trump literally says when he wants gone. The hypocrisy and the blatant abuse of power still shock me
3
081719 Apr 30, 2026 +3
In WV and PA there are addresses that begin with “86 Trump” and then finish with either Avenue or Road. Is anyone who ever sent mail to either location now in some sort of legal jeopardy? What a fascist government.
3
Kursiel Apr 30, 2026 +3
So can he sue for 10 billion each time they try to charge him for this nonsense?
3
Apart-Steak-7183 Apr 30, 2026 +3
Simple witch hunt bt trump
3
Asclepius777 Apr 30, 2026 +3
He commented on a post that could have possibly been interpreted as a vague threat to the president’s job and that was considered a death threat. Meanwhile Trump gets to playfully suggest we execute all of his political opponents in no uncertain terms and nobody bats an eye
3
TomTomXD1234 Apr 30, 2026 +3
Biggest non case ever lol. Their literally case is based on a picture of sea shells
3
JonBoy82 Apr 30, 2026 +10
The Ballad of Comey is a sad sad one…
10
UnlikelyReplacement0 Apr 30, 2026 +5
Boy, I bet he's sure regretting his little bit of meddling right before the election in 2016 that likely swung the vote in favor of Trump.
5
EuphoricCrashOut Apr 30, 2026 +6
Here we go again. I wish him a fantastic counter-suit.
6
UX-Edu Apr 30, 2026 +5
I wonder if Comey ever sits awake at night and thinks about his decision to talk to the press about Clinton’s buttery males.
