The news sees most artists as half-brained dreamers unless they've been dead for a hundred years or selling something specific to positions of power, especially if they aren't a classical artist like a painter. There's this weird undercurrent that treats artists as "dumber-than" the rest of the population because they would want to entertain or make something different. The way the average person talks about them and the news does too is always weird to me.

Interesting outcome of what is colloquially dubbed the "Gen Z revolution". Hope it goes well for them. Ukraine elected a comedian and he's been a straight up hero.
