Dudes getting mega butt hurt over women in metal is literally one of the most common and ridiculous gate keeping methods in any genre of rock/metal. It also very common. I can not say I have any ideas about why this is so hard for these micro p**** having guys, but most or them will never openly admit it.
Ask a woman all about this. They're regularly treated as lesser beings by these kinds of weak ass losers. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the kind of guy that's mad about a woman replacing a man in a metal band is also the same level of stupid that can't figure out an obviously left aligning band is in fact against right wing extremists.

It’s more because the band have been trending toward a mainstream sound for a while and people view Brady as the primary riff writer of their old material; therefore, his absence is the explanation for why Turnstile aren’t playing the same type of h******* they were a decade ago. I’m sure there’s some misogyny there but 90% of the criticism toward modern Turnstile is old fans mad about the sound change latching onto a former member who still makes h******* riffs in the style they miss

Yeah that is definitely a frustrating thing. I know it's not the same but this is why I've stopped listening to anything new from Incubus, Shinedown, Linkin Park, etc... I don't begrudge bands though.
Life on the road is hard as hell and if you're going to get more money for your family by changing your style. I mean why not? The business is brutal, artists are in a no win spot. I wish more fans understood this and gave artists more grace.
I was a huge Incubus fan back in late 90s and even then people were shitting on them for getting away from their original sound. And I do agree Science was probably my favorite sound of theirs. I just can't get my self excited by any of their new stuff. Its a bummer and to make matters worse seeing them live is so much $$$.
I have been venturing into more post hard-core and heavier shit like Lamb of God recently. So I'm not too familiar with Turnstile but I'm going to look them up now just because. YouTube's algorithm has been throwing a lot of stuff at me I really dig.

People taking his side hate on the band for leaving behind their h******* roots. They also haven't bothered looking into this at all because it's obvious Brady was f****** spiralling and the band was dealing with this behind the scenes.

I would say that more broadly, in my experience, this has been the case for women in any rock genre or sub genre going back to the 70s.
Sure doesn't sound good. Reminds me of the Bad Wolves fiasco with Tommy a few years back. Like I mentioned in my reply earlier, being on the road is hard. Personally, I'm not sure I could handle it. I can see how so many people in this business struggle.
